A. Bombelli 1889. The Legacy: passavamo sulla terra geniali, laboriosi
Many of the architectures of the first and second half of the 20th century are characterised by technological innovations that modify the architectural lexicon, appearance, and functioning of the buildings and require a new organization of the design activity and construction process. The use of highly complex technological systems has made collaboration between designers and construction companies indispensable: the architect, while managing the entire project and holding full authorship, needs the specific knowledge of the companies' technical offices to define his own architectural solutions at an executive level. Through the documentation of case studies and archive materials, the contribution presents some works of A. Bombelli, a company specialised in metal construction founded in Milan in 1889 and active in the historic Lambrate plant. The company worked on relevant projects now recognised as cultural heritage alongside designers such as L. Beltrami, G. Momo, G. Ponti, M. Piacentini, and P. Portaluppi. A particular focus is dedicated to the construction of domes for the astronomical observatories, with different movement and opening systems (A. Bombelli built more than 14 domes between 1919 and 1963), as well as to the innovative system of upwards sliding gates, a patented technology
which, starting from the first solution for the Vittoriano gate in 1911, evolved up to that of the Turin Stock Exchange in 1956
Many of the architectures of the first and second half of the 20th-century are characterized by technological innovations that modify the architectural lexicon, the appearance and functioning of the buildings and require a new organization of the design activity and the construction process. The evolution of observation instruments and the need to find places uncontaminated by urban light pollution led, during the 20th-century, to the construction of new astronomical observatories. The contribution presents, through the documentation of case studies and unpublished archival materials, some realizations of ‘A. Bombelli’, a metal construction company founded in Milan in 1889 and active, in the historic Lambrate site, since the 1920s. Throughout the years the company has specialized in the construction of the structures of astronomical domes, with different movement and opening systems, in perfect design and construction synergy with the needs of the astronomers. Between 1919 and 1963, A.Bombelli built about 14 domes in Italy, many of which are still preserved and functioning in the main observatories (among these: Brera, Merate, Capodimonte, Arcetri, Rome Monte Mario, Monte Porzio Catone, Campo Imperatore, Pino Torinese, Trieste, Castel Gandolfo). The study intends to investigate some constructive-technological aspects relevant also for the protection and enhancement of this special architectural heritage
Collaboration Between Architects and Companies in the Development of a Modern Architecture Lexicon: Bombelli’s Technological Systems
In the modern architecture of the post-war periods, the use of considerably complex technological systems for building envelopes (windows, curtain walls, innovative coatings, etc.) saw intense collaboration between designers and building companies. More than in the past, the architect, while still managing the entire project and having full ownership of it, needed the specific knowledge of the companies’ technical offices to develop their design solutions at the executable level. On the other hand, the companies, collaborating with the architects and actively taking part in the design process, gained experience that allowed them to successfully patent products and technological systems capable of meeting the needs of the market. The collaboration between architects and companies has frequently been the real engine of technological innovation in modern architecture. This paper presents the main collaborations and projects undertaken with the Bombelli company, using them as a frame of reference for the different types of technological systems designed and built by Bombelli. The study of and the accessibility project for the Bombelli archive is aimed at optimally integrating the data and information held there with the most innovative methods of digitalization for the study and cataloging of cultural heritage through platforms of interoperable 3D semantic models developed in the H-BIM environment. The in-depth analysis of the case study of Palazzo Montecatini and the archival documents concerning its balcony window frames demonstrates the role of companies in the design process and the importance of making and keeping the archives accessible, which is also useful to support refurbishment interventions
Cybersecurity e Istituzioni democratiche.
The essay focuses on Bruno Montanari's philosophical-legal perspective in order to highlight some its crucial points: the concept of law, the idea of power and the horizon of freedom

Moving from Carnelutti’s philosophical-legal framework the paper offers a critical reading of his
perspective, which emphasizes the methodological dimension and highlights the pattern of law
elaborated by the Italian author. It is closely connected to a categorical horizon, rooted in the ideas
of “system” and “legal order” and dating back to the classical notion of scientia juris. The analysis
of some turning points (i.e. the nexus epistemology-law; the role of the methodological level; the
model of theory of law), as well as the comparison with some theoretical orientations (i.e.
Capograssi, Betti, Menogni), makes it clear the richness and fruitfulness of Carnelutti’s model also
in order to understand in depth the current legal scenario based on the pair Government-Governance
