Get PDFThis paper proposes a strategy to sustain the Melanau language. The justification for sustaining the language includes possibilities of language endangerment which has destroyed thousands of languages of the world. The Melanau language which covers multiple dialects is exposed to many threats such as attitudes towards the language and dominant languages, especially in dealing with the forces of globalization. Therefore, the strategy to sustain the Melanau language includes programmes of documentation, promoting the language into cyberspace and media, the revival of art and literature, and the introduction of the language to the national academic setting. It needs to be implemented by various parties, especially the speakers of Melanau themselves. However, the sustainability effort might face challenges particularly involving multiple Melanau dialects. Thus, this situation deserves careful attention from all the Melanau speech communities
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

This international outbound and inbound mobility programme for lecturers and students will be the starting point for the SSSPU pinned on the world map. This book was written to tell the story of a mobility trip overseas that became part of the history of this study centre. How we felt, and what we learned through the expression of words and sketches. Exploring the land of Borneo, which is full of customs and cultures shared by three countries. This first mobility programme is the outbound venture to West Kalimantan. How exciting is that! Get PDFThis research is done in the quest to investigate the types of music used in pre-school classroom and to analyse these music in terms of the elements of music. The research method applied included readings, analysis and interviews conducted with several preschool teachers and music tutors. This research focuses on pre-schools in the Klang Valley area comprising of children ranging from the age of 3 until 6 years. The findings revealed that although music teachers in pre-school do not have adequate musical background, they managed to apply suitable music as an education aid based on their age group. Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

International Outbound Mobility to West Kalimantan in 2023 was the first step. with many more. The programme culminated with a trip to the Malaysian Consulate in Pontianak to discuss prospects for future cooperation in West Kalimantan. This programme has increased UiTM's international visibility and helped faculty and students grow by exchanging ideas and forging new relationships with peers from the neighbouring country. The Kapuas River Cruise is the extra touch that helps us fit in with the community and leaves an imprint on everyone. How can we forget every smile and laughter we had during the whole trip? Everyone concludes the programme with a great smile and lasting memories
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Weaknesses in English writing skills in S.K. Kampung Balan Dalat Mukah Sarawak / Ayu Bohari
Get PDFThis paper aims to present the findings of a research on weaknesses in English Language in the SK Kampung Balan, Dalat pupils focuses on writing skills. The focus of analysis in divided into three aspects, namely, language used, discourse and conceptualization. In language used, the focus is on sentences structure, dialect usage and punctuation while discourse looks at interesting phrases. The ideas in the writing are evaluated holistically by looking at the clarity, maturity and relevance of ideas presented. The respondents of this research are selected collectively from questionnaire, one essay writing, self evaluation of pupils. These methodologies are used to find out pupil’s weakness in writing skills. In conclusion, this research will find out the factors that influence pupil’s writing skills and their poor presentation in their writing test. The total number of respondents is 38 pupils. Generally, the finding of the research show that the writing weakness of the pupils ia at dissatisfactory level. There is a statistically significant different between the pupils achievement. Highest min of 17.68 and only min of 12.42 shows pupil’s lack of interest in learning to write. These result suggest that writing achievement in English Language are at the unsatisfactory level and need a lot of effort to overcome the problems both to pupils and teachers. Although this study was limited in its scope, the results do suggest that considerable investment in all areas should be verify without any delay to overcome the pupil’s weakness in the language concern
