Low-energy Cross Section Measurements of
The 12C(p, γ)13N reaction cross section is currently under investigation in the low-background environment of the Laboratory for Underground Nuclear Astrophysics (LUNA). It is being studied using different types of solid targets, and employing two complementary detection techniques: HPGe spectroscopy and activation counting. To reduce systematic uncertainties, targets have been accurately characterized and their degradation under the intense beam of the LUNA-400 accelerator monitored. We present the experimental techniques and the corresponding analyses used to extract the reaction cross section
Study of proton capture on carbon-13 isotope at LUNA
13C(p, γ)14N is a key reaction in different stellar environments for which both accurate and precise measurements of its cross section are required to constraint stellar models. This is currently ongoing at the Laboratory for Underground Nuclear Astrophysics where in addition to the low-background environment, the use of different detection systems (HPGe and BGO detectors) and analysis techniques (Peak Shape Analysis and Sum Peak Method) allowed to perform reaction cross section measurements at the lowest energy ever. Both the setup employed in the measurements and the analysis performed are presented in this paper. © 2023 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved

Normative reconstruction and social character of freedom in Axel Honneth
This research object aims to study and identify the essential traits involved in the theoretical approach of social and political relations brought in the work Freedom’s Right by the german philosopher Axel Honneth. It analyses the hegelian influence on the concept of freedom, as well as the factors related to the supply of subjective needs, mediated by the different social "spheres". Honneth thus seeks to bring to light the understanding of a new model of freedom stemming from Hegel’s Philosophy of Law, which differs substantially from traditional models. The author seeks to highlight the limitation of liberal theories of justice, invoking the need for an integrated view of the social relations experienced in the spheres referred to by Hegel, conceiving a concrete experience of social freedom. In this sense, the interdisciplinary and emancipatory character of the normative reconstruction method is evidenced, as a theorical basis for public justification in modern societies
23Na(p,γ)24Mg Cross Section Measurements
As a link between the NeNa and MgAl cycles in stellar burning, the reaction 23Na(p,γ)24Mg is of interest for various astrophysical scenarios, such as AGB stars. A combined effort at the Laboratory for Underground Nuclear Astrophysics (LUNA) and the Nuclear Science Laboratory (NSL) at the University of Notre Dame aims at a cross section determination for the this reaction, to constrain the astrophysical reaction rate by improving the knowledge of the resonance strengths and the non-resonant component. Experiments at LUNA benefit from the underground location at the Gran Sasso National Laboratory which allows for the measurement of resonances at low energies with high sensitivity in a low background environment. Measurements at the University of Notre Dame pursue a determination of the non-resonant cross section at higher energies. We present the two experiments and the status of the data analysis
Exploring Stars in Underground Laboratories: Challenges and Solutions
For millennia, mankind has been fascinated by the marvel of the starry night sky. Yet, a proper scientific understanding of how stars form, shine, and die is a relatively recent achievement, made possible by the interplay of different disciplines as well as by significant technological, theoretical, and observational progress. We now know that stars are sustained by nuclear fusion reactions and are the furnaces where all chemical elements continue to be forged out of primordial hydrogen and helium. Studying these reactions in terrestrial laboratories presents serious challenges and often requires developing ingenious instrumentation and detection techniques. Here, we reveal how some of the major breakthroughs in our quest to unveil the inner workings of stars have come from the most unexpected of places: deep underground. As we celebrate 30 years of activity at the first underground laboratory for nuclear astrophysics, LUNA, we review some of the key milestones and anticipate future opportunities for further advances both at LUNA and at other underground laboratories worldwide

A LIBERDADE REFLEXIVA SEGUNDO AXEL HONNETH / REFLECTIVE FREEDOM ACCORDING TO AXEL HONNETH
The present article intends to study the model of reflective freedom according to the thought of Axel Honneth, exposed in chapter A.II (The Reflective Freedom and its Conception of Justice) of the work Law of Freedom, realized through the hypothetic-deductive method and the bibliographical technique research, in order to verify why the individual reflection carried out on his own acts and guided only by his intentions does not represent the guiding model of the conception of justice proposed by the author
