El populismo hinduista de Narendra Modi: reimaginando la nación india

    No full text

The ongoing acts of terrorism by JeM threatened the security and resilience of the Indian state, so the then prime minister of India, Narendra Modi, made a resolution to eliminate and fight all forms of JeM terrorism. This research aims to find out how the Indian government's strategy during the Narendra Modi era in overcoming JeM terrorism. The research method used is descriptive method and data collection is done by library research. The author uses the concept of Counter-Terrorism proposed by Barry R. Posen which consists of efforts to form alliances and cooperation, increase resilience and offensive efforts. India formed alliances and cooperation with several international organizations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS, Financial Action Task Force (FATF), UN, and also with Pakistan. The improvement of defense capabilities was carried out by the Indian government with efforts to increase the number of NSG personnel and weapons through the purchase of SIG 716 G2 rifles and Rafale fighter jets, as well as increasing the ability of personnel in the field of counter-terrorism through military training such as indra and yudh abhyas exercises. Offensive efforts were made by India through India's Surgical Strike Across the Line of Control 2016 and The Indian Air Force Airstrike on Balakot in 2019 in response to attacks from J-E-M terrorism. All efforts made by India in overcoming J-E-M terrorism are in accordance with the theory of Counter-Terrorism proposed by Barry R. Posen. Keywords: JeM Terrorism, Counter-Terrorism, Narendra Modi

On Wednesday, 19 February, Dr Shakuntala Banaji, Carla Ferstman, Suresh Grover, and Dr Biju Mathew engaged in a panel discussion chaired by Professor Chetan Bhatt at LSE on key questions about human rights and impunity that arose in the aftermath of the Gujarat carnage of 2002, and the subsequent rise of Narendra Modi as a national leader and the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate. In this post, Dr Banaji establishes the context for that discussion (click here for a podcast of the event)

In this article, for Markov ciphers, we prove that they are resistant to differential cryptanalysis and some statements made for MS are obtained. The upper estimates of the probabilities of integer differentials are significantly improved when compared to previously known results. Our differential cryptanalytic algorithm finds weak subkeys that have more than 80 bits and 128 bits for 128-bit keys

STEM education and social issues: perceptions and pedagogy

    No full text
The number of jobs in STEM (science, engineering, math, and technology) fields increased 16 percent from 14.2 million in 2004 to 16.5 million jobs in 2012 (Government Accountability Office [GAO], 2014). Students at STEM-based higher education institutions research ways to build and improve infrastructure, study methods to face climate change, create algorithms to improve day-to-day efficiency, and design apps that benefit our lives and ones that provide solutions to problems we face as a society. However, STEM institutions are generally not known for their emphasis on addressing social issues. Often students do not enroll in STEM institutions to learn about issues that affect our national and global communities. Garibay (2015) found that STEM students who seek to become engineers, computer scientists, and scientific researchers have low levels of social awareness and view the importance of working for social change as less important to their career goals. In addition, students who spent time as a STEM major are more likely to show signs of lower social awareness at the end of college, and majoring in a STEM field has a negative relationship with student understanding of diverse global communities. An intervention module that focused on social issues and social inequity was used to investigate student beliefs of the social issues and social inequity topics. Further, the study examined to what extent a redesigned STS (Science, Technology and Society) course at the New Jersey Institute of Technology influenced student perceptions of social issues and how their work can potentially be seen as a catalyst for social change. Student written responses, a researcher reflective interview, a questionnaire, and a focus group were used in this qualitative action research study.Ed.D.Includes bibliographical referencesby Narendra Neel Khichi, Jr

In this thesis, I present my contributions to molecular junctions through theory and simulations. Chapter 1 starts with a ba- sic overview of fundamental concepts in the electronic structure of molecules and molecular electronics. Starting from simple models, I introduce the main ideas governing electron transmission through molecular structures, such as confine- ment and quantization of energy levels, tunneling through a potential barrier, or transmission through a single electronic level. I then present the fundamentals of electronic structure and Green's function methods. The concepts and simulation methods outlined here are the theoretical background for the works presented in this thesis. I also briefly discuss a few widely used experimental techniques studying molecular circuits....Matematicko-fyzikální fakultaFaculty of Mathematics and Physic
