Integrera styr- och kontrollverktyg för hållbarhet
No full textDet här kapitlet syftar till att beskriva hur företag kan integrera styr- och kontrollverktyg för hållbarhet. Först presenteras den stora skillnaden som finns mellan att integrera enkla certifieringar och att integrera strategiska och för hela företaget betydelsefulla hållbarhetsprioriteringar. Integration förklaras sedan med hjälp av en tredelad uppdelning, nämligen en kognitiv, en organisatorisk och en teknisk integration. Det beskrivs vidare hur integration kan förstås i ljuset av struktureringsprocesser mellan människor och strukturer. Det klargörs därför hur kognitiva och organisatoriska strukturer påverkas och vad som krävs för att hållbarhetsfrågorna integreras i styr- och kontrollsystem. Eftersom tekniska strukturer inte sällan utgör kärnan inom traditionell ekonomistyrningslitteratur läggs därefter ett stort fokus på beskrivningen av de tekniska strukturerna och den tekniska integrationen som krävs för hållbarhet. En översikt över dagens mest kända ekonomistyrtekniker och verktyg för hållbarhet (t.ex. budgetering, kalkylering, hybrida styr- och mätsystem, etc.) presenteras sedan innan kapitlet avslutas med en diskussion om hur allt hänger ihop och vad det betyder för redovisningen för hållbarhet

No full textDetta kapitel beskriver ekonomistyrning för hållbarhet som avser den avsiktliga påverkan av ett företags verksamhet och dess befattningshavare för att uppnå hållbarhetsmål. Jämfört med externredovisningsperspektivet, som framförallt fokuserar på de externa intressenternas behov, handlar ekonomistyrning om ett internt perspektiv som främst går ut på att förbättra företagets prestationer. Kapitlet beskriver därför hur skapandet av ett ekonomistyrsystem för hållbarhet kan gå till. Detta skapande illustreras först och främst i fyra steg, där steg tre handlar om att planera, genomföra, följa upp och anpassa verksamheten i förhållandet till hållbarhetsmål och planer. Detta steg är kärnområdet inom ekonomistyrningsämnet och bryts därför i kapitlet ner i fyra delmoment som redogörs för i detalj. En kritisk reflektion gällande likheter och skillnader som finns mellan den traditionella ekonomistyrningen och vad ekonomistyrning för hållbarhet kräver, men också vad detta betyder för den nya ”ekonomistyrarrollen” avslutar kapitlet

A Nordic approach to corporate governance
No full textIn this chapter, we discuss corporate governance from a Nordic perspective, then including the countries Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Norway. These Nordic countries often constitute a base that is seen as quite homogeneous dependent on several parametersand characteristics. This in turn has influenced the design and even more the use of corporate governance in the various Nordic countries. An important role in all this has been played by the Nordic welfare model, which is described throughout this chapter. Thus, Section 2.1 describes the historical emergence of the link between the Nordic corporate governance model and the Nordic welfare model. Section 2.2 continues with an illustration of the Nordic middle way before section 2.3 talks about the ‘golden era’ of the Nordics that later turned into a ‘lean-welfare-state model’. Section 2.4 focuses on the Nordic countries ’taxes' and the development thereof. How wages are distributed in the Nordics is the core of Section 2.5 before Section 2.6 illustrates the development of net replacement rates for standard workers. Section 2.7 displays income-inequality (Gini-coefficient), where all Nordic countries have low inequality compared to most other OECD countries. What this has to do with the quality of institutions, with corruption, citizen participation and trust (Section 2.8), and how much of this can be attributed to, or is the basis for, a Nordic corporate culture, will be discussed in Section 2.9, which ends this chapter

No full textThe focus of this chapter is Nordic stock markets and corporate ownership structures, highlighting similarities and differences between the four Nordic countries and also comparing them with significant non-Nordic countries. The chapter begins with a short overview of Nordic countries ’economic' strength, in comparison with Europe and the European Union (section 3.1). This follows, in section 3.2, an illustration of the size and total market capitalization of the Nordic economies, which will be described in more detail in the subsequent sections. Section 3.3 therefore provides a closer look at Nordic ownership structures, section 3.4 focuses specifically on institutional investor ownership, and section 3.5 deals with public sector investors’ ownership in relation to total market capitalization. A short summary is provided in section 3.6
