Entangled Lives: How Fungi Make Our Worlds, Change Our Minds, and Shape Our Futures
Merlin Sheldrake, Biologist, speaker, and New York Times best-selling author. - Thinking about fungi makes the world look different. Most fungi live out of sight, yet make up a massively diverse kingdom of organisms that support and sustain nearly all living systems. Fungi throw our concepts of individuality and even intelligence into question. They can change our minds, heal our bodies, and help remediate environmental disaster. In this talk, Merlin will discuss the ways these extraordinary organisms – and our relationships with them – change our understanding of the planet on which we live, and the ways that we think, feel, and behave.https://scholarworks.boisestate.edu/ideas_of_nature_gallery/1041/thumbnail.jp

Nurturing Biophilia: Merlin and Sanderling
The author develops a narrative of Merlin predation to illustrate the growth of biophilia. Initially descriptive, the story evolves by following an iterative process of questioning and relationship building, which leads to an informed and purposeful application of biophilia

ESTETIKA PADA FRAME SEPEDA BALAP MERLIN TIPE CYRENE
AbstractThe Aesthetic of Type Cyrene Merlin Road Race Frame. Type Cyrene Merlin road race frame is one of the innovative designs of Tom Kellogg and produced by Merlin Metal Work, known as one of the best bike production in Tennessee, USA. Produce uniquely with laser engraved motif on the frame pipe, this bike won The Best Titanium Bike in North American Handmade BicycleShow. This paper explained about the aesthetic analysis of the product design with the formalistic aspect, the technical aspect, and the ergonomic aspect which affect the function of the product. The formalistic analysis instruments consistof intra-aesthetic factors. From the analysis concluded that the aesthetic value of the product is not a single value but blended with technology. The Type Cyrene Merlin road race frame is becoming the high value product that produced withhigh accuracy and craftsmanship when still focused on functional aspect and the user comfort.
A study of the behaviour and interactions of the novel FERM protein Willin
Willin is a novel member of the Four-point-one Ezrin Radixin Moesin
(FERM) protein superfamily, containing an N-terminal FERM domain most like the
Ezrin-Radixin-Moesin (ERM) family but also the closely related protein Merlin.
Willin was initially discovered as a yeast two-hybrid binding partner of
neurofascin155, and this interaction has now been confirmed by both co-localisation
studies and the use of two different biochemical methods. Like neurofascin155,
Willin also localises to detergent resistant membranes, and like the ERM family, it is
able to bind to phospholipids. The expression of Willin appears to be toxic as the
production of cell-lines stably expressing Willin proved to be not possible and this
appears to be because it induces apoptosis in cultured cells. This is a proliferation
control function consistent with the suggestion that Willin is the human homologue of the Drosophila tumour suppressor ‘Expanded’. Three antibodies to Willin were also characterised and a novel splice variant, Willin2, subcloned into a GFP-tagged
plasmid for comparison with the original form

The State of Arkansas
My name i s Sanford Barnes, I come from a Northern town,
I ' v e traveled t h i s wide world over, I've traveled t h i s wide world arornd,
Through ups and downs and miseries and some good days I ' v e saw,
But I never new what misery was ' t i l I came to Arkansas.
I landed in Ft. Smith one s u l t r y afternoon,
I stepped across the depot and I walked into a saloon,
Up stepped a living skeleton and he handed me his paw,
He said he ran the best hotel in the State of Arkansas.
I follered my conductor t o his f i n e dwelling place,
There was novelty depicted in his melancholy face,
His hair hung down in rat t a i l s on his long and lantern jaw,
He was a perty f a i r type of a l l the gents I met in Arkansas.
I st a r t e d out next morning t o catch that early t r a i n,
He says, Don't be in a hurry, lad; I ' v e got some land to drain,
I ' l l pay you 50 a day and all that you can chaw,
You'll find yourself a d i f f e r e n t man when you leave Arkansas.
Well, I worked six weeks for that son-of-a-gun, Jed Harrin was his name,
He was six foot tall in his stocking f e e t and he looked like a crane,
His bread i t was corn dodger, his meat you couldn't chaw,
And t h a t ' s the kind of hash they had in the State of Arkansas.
He fed me on corn dodgers as hard as any rock,
' T i l a l l my t e e t h began to loose, my knees began to knock,
I got so thing on Sassafras tea I could hide behind a straw,
Indeed I was a different man when I l e f t Arkansas.
Farewell t o these swamp angels, to cane breaks and c h i l l s,
Farewell t o sage and sassafras and t o corn dodger p i l l s,
I'm going to the Indian Nation, going to marry me a squaw,
So, catch me back there if you can in the S t a t e of Arkansas.Funding for digitization provided by the Arkansas Humanities Council and the Happy Hollow Foundation
Merlin toolkit migration to c programming language.
This paper is intended to describe the process of migrating the Merlin library from a „Python“ programming language to „C“. The aim of the project was to unify the used programming languages, to improve code readability and also simplify project structure. During the investigation it was noticed that the best way to migrate a project to another programming language is manually, since the current automated migration tools are not advanced. It was also observed that the Python language library „Theano“, which is used in the Merlin project, was impractical to migrate to the C programming language, due to the fact that the entire optimization process is not clearly visible in the code and will not take full advantage of the C language. End result was achieved, Merlin functionality works in C programming language and also the structure of the project has been simplified
Merlin and Nimiane : the unifying force for the national unity of Britain at the waning of the Middle Ages as depicted by an anonymous author of the fifteenth-century "Prose Merlin"
The article analyses a special portrayal of the relationship between Merlin and Nimiane in the English fifteenth-century Prose Merlin. The power couple escapes from their previously distinct and usually dubious renditions to perform a new function that serves the nation-building of a reviving civilization. The political and religious inclinations of the anonymous author are visible in their almost impeccable conduct towards their sovereigns, God, and themselves. The article analyses the unique presentation of the two in the light of the political and social circumstances of the waning of the Middle Ages in Britain and contrasts them with a short analysis of other medieval portrayals of the couple
