INDOOR PLAYGROUND UNTUK DEWASA SEBAGAI FASILITAS HEALING DI MAL: INDOOR PLAYGROUND FOR ADULTSAS A HEALING FACILITY IN MALL
The intensity of urban stress experienced by adults in big cities, such as Jakarta, has led to the emergence of active recreational facilities that play a role in restoring physical and mental balance. Play activities have the potential to be a medium for healing, but until now, play areas in shopping centers are still dominated by concepts for children, making them less relevant for adult users. This study aims to examine the potential for developing indoor playgrounds for adults as active recreational facilities in malls. The method applied is a descriptive qualitative approach through literature study, direct observation of six playground facilities in the Jakarta-Tangerang area, and a survey of 57 adult respondents. The results show that the facilities are not suitable for adult needs, particularly in terms of privacy, safety, activity balance, and design approach. Based on these findings, this study formulates the concept of an Adult Interactive Play Lounge that integrates moderate physical activity, creative activities, social elements, and interactive technology to provide a holistic healing experience in an urban mall environment

PENDEKATAN HOLISTIK HERBAL SEBAGAI INSPIRASI PADA PERANCANGAN INTERIOR PUSAT PENDIDIKAN DAN REKREASI HERBOLOGI: A HOLISTIC HERBAL APPROACH AS AN INSPIRATION IN THE INTERIOR DESIGN OF A HERBOLOGICAL EDUCATION AND RECREATION CENTER
Indonesia’s biodiversity and cultural heritage offer valuable inspiration for public interior design. This study proposes the design of a Herbology Education and Recreation Center aimed at providing both educational and recreational experiences for visitors. The concept adopts a holistic herbal approach, emphasizing the interconnectedness of interior elements with the principles of sustainability. A mixed-method research design was employed, consisting of questionnaires to capture public perceptions of herbal knowledge and a literature review to identify facility needs and examine holistic design theories. The findings indicate that the application of a holistic approach can generate interior concepts that align with the characteristics of Indonesian herbology. The proposed design not only functions as an educational facility but also integrates aesthetic, cultural, and economic values. Consequently, the project establishes a harmonious, interactive, and sustainable system that reinforces herbology as a local identity within the broader framework of education and public recreation
ADAPTASI VISUAL DAN MATERIAL: PROSES TRANSFORMASI ILUMINASI MANGKUNEGARAN PADA PRODUK INTERIOR LANTAI: VISUAL AND MATERIAL ADAPTATION: TRANSFORMING MANGKUNEGARAN ILLUMINATIONS INTO CONTEMPORARY INTERIOR FLOORING DESIGN
The visual and material adaptation process of illumination motifs from the ancient manuscripts of Puro Mangkunegaran into interior products, specifically floor surfaces. As part of Javanese visual heritage, manuscript illumination contains rich ornamental forms embedded with symbolic, aesthetic, and spiritual values. Transforming these motifs from manuscript media into flooring requires a design approach that not only involves stylization but also considers functional relevance and material characteristics in a modern context. The process examined includes motif selection and classification, form simplification (stylization), modular repetition and composition, as well as color and scale adjustments tailored to interior visual needs. The stylized motifs are then applied to various flooring materials such as ceramic and natural stone using digital printing and manual techniques. Collaboration with local ceramic industries was carried out to test the technical and aesthetic feasibility of the transformed designs. The results show that adapting Mangkunegaran manuscript illuminations into floor products enriches interior aesthetics while serving as a practical means of cultural preservation in contemporary design. This research recommends further adaptation of traditional visual heritage into other interior elements to promote the integration of local identity within modern spatial design
