The new species is named in recognition of and homage to the Nonuyas indigenous people who live in the departments of Caquetá and Putumayo, Colombia. Noun in apposition. Description. Endogeic species, with light brown-colored dorsum, milky white belly, and cylindrical body. The length of the conserved holotype is 93.5 mm, with 131 segments. Its diameter is 3.2 mm in the preclitellar region, 4.0 mm in the clitellum, and 3.0 mm in the mid-posterior region. Paratype: 82.5 mm long and 3.0 mm wide. Number of segments: 122. The prostomium is long, thin, and ends in a milky white lobe measuring 0.9 mm. The clitellum is saddle-shaped, located in segments 15–25 (= 11 segments); tubercula pubertatis are between segments ¼ 19 –¼ 24 (Fig. 1). Eight rows of closely paired setae are visible (a, b, c, d) as of segment 4. The distance between setae in the mid-body region (segments 40–50) is aa:ab:bc:cd:dd = 5.4:1.0:5.0: 0.3: 17. The common setae (Fig. 2 A) present a strong curvature with central marks. This thickness then decreases to finally form a sharply defined hook. The ventral setae ab from 18 to 23 are modified as genital setae (Fig. 2 B) about 1.4 mm long, 0.04 mm in diameter. Setae are slightly sigmoid with a strong curvature, continuing rectilinearly to end in a broadened lanceolate tip. Numerous semi-lunar grooves appear after 1 / 2, which then merge in the center forming bordered limits (Fig. 2 B left). The male pores are located in segment 21 and female pores in segment 14. The nephropores are aligned with setae c, d. Three pairs of spermathecal pores were observed on intersegments 6 /7, 7/8, 8/ 9 aligned with seta c. Internal anatomy. The anterior septa are strong and moderately thick between segments 6 and 10. The round muscular gizzard and thick musculature are found in the cavity of segment 6. Three pairs of extramural calciferous glands originate in a short, wide duct that opens dorsally on the back of the esophagus in segments 7–9; the glands are of lamellar structure ("Lamellentaschen") (Fig. 3 A). The esophagus-intestine transition begins in segment 20 and the typhlosole begins in segment 24. This thick Sshaped lamella occupies 1 / 3 of the intestinal space. There are no intestinal caeca. The dorsal blood vessel is moniliform in segments 15–21. There are three pairs of lateral commissures in 7–9 and three pairs of esophageal hearts in 11–13. There is one pair of holonephridia in each segment, located just above the line of setae c, d. Each nephridium of the postclitellar region consists of a single infundibulum and two foldable bands joined to the infundibulum (Fig. 3 B). The voluminous and slightly lobed hypoesophageal testis sacs lie in segment 11, with one pair of seminal vesicles in 12. The deferent ducts are visible, located close to the ventral esophagus, opening in segment 14 into the intraparietal region and flowing into segment 21 to the male pores. The ovaries are in the ventral region of segment 13. Spermathecae (Fig. 3 C) are in segments 7, 8, 9. The sperm duct is short and the ampulla flat and round and has abundant sperm cells. Remarks. Andiodrilus nonuya is closely related to A. icomi Righi, 1971, A. biolleyi Cognetti, 1904, A. guayabero Feijoo, 2008, A. kiri Righi, 1995, A. masigure Feijoo, 2008, A. pixao Righi, 1995, A. xaropi Righi, 1995, and A. cabalensis Righi, 1995, because of the extension of the clitellum and tubercula pubertatis. It is also very closely related to A. xaropi and A. cabalensis because of the presence of three pairs of hearts in 11–13. It differs, however, from the aforementioned species in the distance of the setae aa: ab: bc: cd: dd, the shape and ornamentation of the genital seta, the position and number of segments of the clitellum, the locations of tubercula pubertatis, the shape of spermathecae, and in the origin of the intestine (Table 1). Design and Construction of an Open-circuit Wind Tunnel with Specific Measurement Equipment for Cycling
AbstractIn order to overcome resistance a cyclist has to deliver a total power output of which 90% is necessary to overcome the aerodynamic drag [1,2]. In order to perform research in this aerodynamic drag a wind tunnel has been built by the Belgium company Flanders’ Bike Valley. This wind tunnel is designed using classical design rules and with specific cycling requirements an open-circuit wind tunnel is designed. This wind tunnel, containing a test section in which two cyclist can be positioned in succession, contains three main measurement systems to investigate the aerodynamic drag of a cyclist. A balance is used for the measurements of aerodynamic forces acting on the model, a bikefitting test is included to have a perfect fit between cyclist and bike and finally a PIV system is installed to investigate the flow behaviour
Effect of reinforcing submicron SiC particles on the wear of electrolytic NiP coatings Part 2: Bi-directional sliding
As-plated and heat-treated electrodeposited NiP and composite NiP-SiC coatings were investigated in bi-directional ball-on-disc sliding tests. All tests were performed under gross slip conditions. Heat treatment decreases the wear volume loss during fretting in ambient air for all coatings investigated. Heat-treated NiP coating has a lower wear volume loss compared to composite NiP-SiC coatings for all sliding tests. The wear rate at the bi-directional sliding test was found to be lower relative to the wear rate at uni-directional sliding test

This research aims at filling a void in the field of Caribbean Studies by establishing a dialogue between women writers from the continental Caribbean whose works have received scarce critical attention (Fanny Buitrago and Marvel Moreno from Colombia, and Antonia Palacios from Venezuela), and better known writers from the islands (Rosario Ferré, Magali García Ramis and Mayra Santos-Febres from Puerto Rico, and Julia Álvarez from the Dominican Republic). Girls' bodies are interpreted both as the site of interplay among the psychological, sexual, social and cultural forces that shape female subjectivity, as well as the means of the girls' "rebellions" against the patriarchal norm. Narratives of formation portray how subjectivity emerges from the tension between the "lived body" and the objectified body, socially produced through the inscription of its materiality by relations and techniques of power. The role that girls and images of girlhood play in sustaining and challenging "womanhood" is also emphasized by reading women's narratives against the background of cultural beliefs about girlhood. In addition, these narratives depict the social and political transformations experienced by women from the fifties to the new millennium. The persistence of girls' susceptibility to the control and appropriation of their bodies, demonstrates one of the main hypothesis of this work: that becoming a "woman" under the patriarchal norm requires the inner dissociation of the body from the self. Therefore, attaining "a body of their own" is one of the primary challenges in the women's pursuit of autonomous subjectivities.
My theoretical approach draws on feminist theories of embodiment by Elizabeth Gross and Judith Butler among others, as well as on philosophers like Luce Irigaray, Michel Foucault, Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Paul Ricoeur. It is also nourished by the theories and research clustered in the field of Girls' Studies, especially works on psychoanalysis, sociology, media and cultural studies of theorists such as Emilce Dio Bleichmar, Valerie Walkerdine and Catherine Driscoll.Ph.D.Includes bibliographical references (p. 313-322)

approach to his political thinking, locating him in the context of the Spanish and French illustrations.
In this first approach, a couple of complementary matters will be approached: to determine if the
American experience could condition and to what extent, the conformation of his political ideas and
to verify if its work got to have some impact in the processes of ideological and political changes that,
later, would end up leading to the independence of the Spanish colonies in America. The instrument
to undertake these tasks will be the commentary and deepening of his work, titled Discours sur les
principes fondamentaux d’une Constitution libre, published in Bayonne in 1792. This writing is
considered, until the moment, his main work. Habitually, it is alluded to in the monographs, with other
papers of its author, as an example of the Spanish Illustration, but barely one has deepened in it from
the point of view of a key reading of political philosophy.Historia, Geografía y Antropologí
Extrapair mating behaviors in the field sparrow: nocturnal singing and extraterritorial forays
While there has been much research on the mating behaviors of birds, most attention has focused on elaborate and/or conspicuous mating displays, such as diurnal songs, ornaments, or mating dances. Much less attention has been devoted to investigating the role of more subtle behaviors, particularly nocturnal signing by diurnal birds and extra-territorial forays (movements off territory). My research explored the function of nocturnal singing and extra-territorial forays in the Field Sparrow (Spizella pusilla). I determined that nocturnal complex song serves to announce the presence of extra-pair males to females and that extra-territorial forays serve primarily in prospecting and soliciting extra-pair matings. While forays are common among both male and female Field Sparrows, a higher foraying rate did not result in greater extra-pair paternity (EPP). Rather, my data provide strong evidence that extra-pair matings are determined by current and previous relationships; females chose extra-pair sires that were current neighbors or neighbors or social mates during previous breeding seasons. Given female preference for extra-pair matings with neighbors, males who have information on the fertility status of neighboring females and coordinate their nocturnal vocalizations in relation to the fertility stage of neighboring females may be able to increase their EPP. Contrary to other studies, I did not find a relationship between the traits of males, females, or females’ social mates (age and tarsus length) and EPP. Thus, proximity to females, rather than male characteristics, appears to be key for a male’s success at acquiring extra-pair paternity. Finally, my findings are consistent with the hypothesis that female choice for extra-pair mates coupled with female foray behavior are driving patterns of extra-pair paternity and nocturnal singing behavior. By integrating research on nocturnal singing, extra-territorial foray behavior, and extra-pair paternity, my work has led to a more comprehensive understanding of extra-pair mating behavior in birds.Submission published under a 24 month embargo labeled 'Closed Access', the embargo will last until 2017-08-01The student, Antonio Celis Murillo, accepted the attached license on 2015-07-15 at 16:41.The student, Antonio Celis Murillo, submitted this Dissertation for approval on 2015-07-15 at 16:42.This Dissertation was approved for publication on 2015-07-16 at 13:09.DSpace SAF Submission Ingestion Package generated from Vireo submission #1114 on 2015-09-29 at 15:04:55Made available in DSpace on 2015-09-29T21:02:36Z (GMT). Modeling level alignment at interfaces in molecular junctions
Molecular devices are planned as alternative solutions for heat dissipation problems and reliable fabrication of nano-scale devices. However, it also opens up possibilities of combining many other degrees of freedom into functional device design. While they introduce interesting opportunities for study, they also demand a versatile, scalable toolset. In this thesis we calculate the electronic transport through molecular devices using the DFT+NEGF technique. We model the interaction of the molecule with the electrodes surfaces taking into account different facts such as the gap reduction produced by the charge polarization on metallic surfaces, the spin states of the molecule and the hydrophilicity of the leads. We hope our contribution helps to improve the functional single molecule devices design.QN/Thijssen Grou
