Rasmussen and his wife Berna Rasmussen describe Paul’s experiences growing up on a ranch in Montana as well as his career as a flight land mechanic that kept him moving around the United States during the mid-20th century. Paul recalls his childhood home in Lavina, Montana, as well as his brother, Wayne Rasmussen, who later became the head historian for the U.S. Department of Agrigulture. No full textM. Fuad Köprülü (1890-1966), yaşadığı dönem itibariyle hem Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nun çöküş hem de Cumhuriyet’in kuruluş dönemlerine şahitlik etmiş bir isimdir. Birbirinin devamı olan her iki dönemde yaşananları ‘kriz’ teması etrafında ele almak mümkündür. Hemen her alanda birbirini besleyen bu ‘kriz’ atmosferi Osmanlıda bir yok oluşa karşılık gelirken, Cumhuriyet’te bir varoluş ile kendisini ortaya koymuştur. Köprülü’nün entelektüel üretimini birbirini takip eden yok oluş ve varoluş krizlerinden bağımsız ele almak mümkün değildir. Bu bağlamda Osmanlının idari, mali ve askeri sorunları karşısında 18. yüzyıldan itibaren benimsediği Batılılaşma siyasetinin uygulanmaya devam ettiği dönemde ‘Osmanlı Nasıl Kurtarılabilir?’ kaygısıyla hareket eden Köprülü, bu siyasetin Cumhuriyet ile yeniden ‘dizayn edildiği’ ve temel kurumlarda köklü değişimlerin yaşandığı dönemde ise yeni düzenin korunması çabalarına ortak olmuştur. İki dönem birbirine göre siyasi ve toplumsal alanlarda bir kopuşu içerse de hem kronolojik olarak hem de Batılılaşma ve millet gibi pek çok tema üzerinden bir devamlılığa karşılık gelmektedir. Kopuş ve devamlılığı bir arada bulunduran bu kriz atmosferinde Köprülü’nün entelektüel kimliği bir ‘genişleme’ yaşamıştır.Ön söz ..............................................................................................................5

A new approach to numerical solution of nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation
Full text linkA numerical method based on collocation points is developed to solve the nonlinear Klein-Gordon equations by using the Taylor matrix method. The method is applied to some test examples and the numerical results are compared with the exact solutions. The results reveal that the method is very effective, simple, and convenient. A Conversation with Berna (Vallverdu, 2024) is an interactive piece that speaks to the banality of the present from the banality of the past, using obsolete technology to reflect on our current digital landscape. It reminds us that familiar technology can vanish rapidly, and that data, often perceived as intangible, has a physical footprint (Mageswari, Manoharan and Poomalai, 2022).
The piece emphasizes a phenomenological approach, urging the audience to physically experience data. While VR has been used to explore concepts like big data (Raghunathan, 2015), Berna provides a sensory experience where data is rendered in touchable paper form, engaging our sense of smell, weight, and tactility.
