Zagadnienie reformacji w katechizmach i podręcznikach do nauki religii w latach 1945–1990
The year 2017 marks the 500th anniversary of Reformation in the Lutheran Church. The celebrations are accompanied by numerous exhibitions, academic conferences, ecumenical services, in which Catholics also take part. It does not mean, however, that Catholics celebrate the schism in the Church which took place 500 years ago but undertake theological refl ection and participate in ecumenical prayer. Such a refl ection is also undertaken by Professor Beata Bilicka in her article The question of Reformation in catechisms and religious education textbooks in 1945–1990 which focuses on the evolution of ecumenical catechesis before and after the Second Vatican Council. Synthetic refl ections are limited to the presence of Martin Luther and Reformation in catechisms and religious education textbooks which were used in Poland from 1945 to 1990, i.e. until religious education returned to schools and kindergartens. The article consists of three parts. The fi rst part briefl y characterises pre-conciliar catechesis (1945–1965) which was closed to ecumenical dialogue in a broader sense of this word, also when it comes to the Lutheran Church and therefore this type of approach might be described as intolerant. The second part of the article demonstrates how after the Second Vatican Council the teaching about Reformation has changed in religious education classes. The article ends with a synthetic conclusion.
Awakening the Memory of our Baptism. (Catechesis on the Holy Baptism Using an ePortfolio)
Katecheza o chrzcie św. z wykorzystaniem ePortfolio dr hab. Beaty Bilickiej jest opisanie zastosowania metody ePortfolio w szkolnym nauczaniu religii, w celu rozbudzenia pamięci chrztu, o którą nieraz prosił papież Franciszek. Artykuł dzieli się na trzy części. W pierwszej krótko scharakteryzowane zostały istotne elementy papieskiej katechezy o chrzcie świętym. Następnie przedstawiono narzędzia niezbędne do tworzenia ePortfolio. The celebrations of the 1050th anniversary of Poland's Baptism, which fall in 2016, direct our attention not only to the event which ages ago radically influenced the history of the Polish nation and the Church but also to the sacrament of baptism, an event which transforms the spiritual life of the baptised. In Poland a period of infancy is the preferred time for baptism and thus many people forget this day and do not remember its date. Therefore there is a need for pastoral and catechetical action among the faithful to awaken the memory of the day of being born to a new supernatural life. The aim of the article entitled Awakening the Memory of our Baptism. Catechesis on the Holy Baptism Using an ePortfolio by Professor Beata Bilicka is to present the use of the ePortfolio method in teaching Religious Education in order to awaken the memory of baptism, which has been repeatedly pleaded for by Pope Francis. The article is divided into three parts. In the first part, the most essential elements of the Pope’s Catechesis on baptism have been characterised. It is followed by the presentation of tools which are necessary to create ePortfolio. Next, there is a description of application of the ePortfolio method to teaching Religious Education in order to awaken the memory of baptism among students of the lower-secondary schools. The article ends with a short conclusion. The basic source for this article is two of the General Audience Catecheses concerning baptism by Pope Francis which form a series of seven catecheses on the sacraments
Professional Advancement of RE Teachers in the Context of the Challenges of the Information Society
In the first years of political transformation in Poland starting in 1989, one of the crucial issues was the reform of education, including changes in the procedure of professional advancement for teachers. At that time, it was also important for the Catholic Church to restore Religious Education in schools, which returned to the state education system in the 1990–1991 school year. Since then, RE teachers have had the same rights and obligations as teachers of compulsory subjects and undergone the same professional advancement procedure. Twenty years have passed since the new procedure of career progression for teachers was introduced in Poland. Therefore the author of the article attempts to answer the following questions: To what extent does the procedure meet the challenges of the information society and in what direction should it evolve due to the rapid development of information and communication technology in the world
Youcat, a tool of joyful new evangelization
The article “Youcat , a tool of joyful new evangelization” consists of four parts. In the first, in the light of the Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii gaudium by Pope Francis, Beata Bilicka briefly describes what a new evangelization is. In the second, she characterizes Youcat catechism for young people, indicating its advantages. The next part of the article contains the analyzes of selected junior high school religion textbooks, carried out in reference to the use of Youcat catechism. In the last part the author advocates the need for better reception of Youcat in catechesis and gives suggestions on how to use it in teaching religion at school. W ostatniej autorka postuluje potrzebę lepszej recepcji Youcatu w katechezie i podaje sugestie, w jaki sposób wykorzystać go w szkolnym nauczaniu religii

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
