School Success and Engagement in Sports of Primary School Children in Split : Master's Thesis
Glavni je cilj istraživanja bio povezati angažman u sportu sa školskim uspjehom kod osnovnoškolske djece u Splitu. Ispitanici su bila djeca osmih razreda osnovnih škola u dobi od 14 do 15 godina gdje je uzorak uzet iz pet osnovnih škola. Testiranje je provedeno kroz upitnik koji je bio podijeljen učenicima i čiji su odgovori upućivali bave li se fizičkom aktivnosti na natjecateljskoj razini, odnosno treniraju 5 puta tjedno i više te imaju status sportaša, u odnosu na djecu koja nisu fizički aktivna u tolikoj mjeri i imaju status nesportaša. Pored navedenih pitanja o sportskoj aktivnost upitnik se sastojao i od drugih pitanja koja se odnose na rezultate u školi, sveukupno 14 pitanja. Ispitanici su morali ispuniti sve odgovore kako bi mogli zaključiti anketu. Istraživanje je pokazalo da dječaci i djevojčice bez obzira što se bave bilo kojim oblikom tjelesne aktivnosti, profesionalno ili rekreativno to nema negativan utjecaj na školski uspjeh na kraju godine u odnosu na djecu nesportaše.The main goal of the research was to link involvement in sports with school success among elementary school children in Split. The respondents were eighth-grade elementary school children aged 14 to 15, where the sample was taken from five elementary schools. The testing was carried out through a questionnaire that was distributed to the students, whose answers indicated whether they engage in physical activity at a competitive level, that is, they train 5 times a week or more and have the status of athletes, compared to children who are not physically active to such an extent and have the status non-athletes. In addition to the aforementioned questions about sports activity, the questionnaire also consisted of other questions related to school results, a total of 14 questions. The respondents had to fill in all the answers in order to be able to conclude the survey. Research has shown that boys and girls, regardless of whether they engage in any form of physical activity, professionally or recreationally, it does not have a negative impact on school performance at the end of the year compared to non-athlete children
The Role of Plantar Fascia in Sport : Undergraduate Thesis
Glavna tema ovog rada će se bazirati na građi i funkciji stopala s naglaskom na građu plantarne fascije, njenu ulogu u sportu i rehabilitaciju iste. Kroz sam rad bit će govora o anatomiji stopala i funkciji određenih mišićnih skupina koje su najzastupljenije tijekom same izvedbe bilo kakvog oblika kretanja koje je povezano s plantarnom fascijom. Sukladno tome, najviše pažnje će se pridodati ulozi plantarne fascije u sportu i njenoj rehabilitaciji u slučaju ozljede. Govorit će se o samoj anatomiji pojedinih mišića i plantarnoj fasciji te njenoj ulozi tijekom sportske aktivnosti. Isto tako, opisivat će se rehabilitacija plantarne fascije u slućaju ozljede. Nadalje, u radu će se dotaknuti i psihičkih komponenti koje su vezane uz bilo kakav oblik ozljede kod sportaša. Biti će priće i o sindrmu prenaprezanja planarne fascije što naposljetku dovodi do same ozljede.The main theme of this paper will be based on the structure and function of the foot with an emphasis on plantar fascia, its role in sport and its rehabilitation. Through the work I will talk about the anatomy of the foot and the function of certain muscle groups most commonly during the performance of any form of movement associated with the plantar fascia. Consequently, most attention will be given to the role of plantar fascia in sport and its rehabilitation in case of injury. There will be talk about the anatomy of the individual muscles and the plantar fascia and its role during sports activities. Also, the rehabilitation of plantar fascia in the event of an injury will be described. Furthermore, the work will also touch the psychic components associated with any form of injury to athletes. There will also be some talk about the syndrome of overstraining the planar fascia, which ultimately leads to the injury itself

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
