EPISTEMOLOGI TAFSIR AYAT-AYAT JIHAD (STUDI KITAB TAFSIR AL-JAILANI KARYA SYAIKH ʻABD AL-QADIR AL-JAILANI)
Jihad is a concept of Islamic teachings that has been subjected to
controversy over meaning. The term jihad is often misconstrued, synonymous
with the terms terrorism, violence and holy war. A narrow understanding by some
Muslims of the meaning of jihad will give rise to radical groups that lead to the
emergence of movements that harm Islam. While the Qur'an itself has a meaning
that is not only interpreted lafadz dhahirnya, but also has an inner meaning. As a
sufi ishari'ah mufasir, Shaykh ʻAbdul Qādir Al-Jailānī interprets the Qur'an by
revealeding the inner meaning of the Verses of the Qur'an. With regard to the
misunderstanding of the meaning of jihad mentioned above, the author feels the
need to conduct a special study of the meaning of jihad in depth and more
comprehensively in the thesis research entitled Epistemology of Interpretation of
Jihadi Verses (Tafsīr Al-Jailānī Study by Shaykh ʻAbdul Qādir Al-Jailānī). The
main problem of this thesis is how the Qur'an interprets the jihadi verse according
to Shaykh ʻAbdul Qādir Al-Jailānī. This research builds on three formulations of
the problem: 1) What is Al-Jailānī's interpretation of jihadi verse, 2) How
epistemological the interpretation of Al-Jailānī verse, 3) What characterizes and
implications of Al-Jailānī's interpretation. This thesis research aims to: 1) Analyze
Al-Jailānī's interpretation of jihadi verses, 2) Analyze the epistemology of Al-
Jailānī's interpretation, 3) Analyze the characteristics and impikasi of Al-Jailānī's
interpretation.
This research is a literature research or library reseach. The approach used is
the historical-philosophical approach. The data source used consists of primary
data and secondary data. While the method of data collection is qualitative, data
analysis is descriptive-analytical.
The results of this study found that Al-Jailānī in interpreting the Qur'an
applies 4 methods based in certain aspects namely the bayani, ijmali and tahlīlī
methods. While the form of interpretation is al-ma'ṡur and al ra'y (ijtihad) and
muqarrīn. As for the pattern of interpretation is the pattern of Sufi ishari.S. The
validity of its benchmarks uses a theory of coherence. The concept of
understanding jihad according to Al-Jailānī explains that jihad is not completely
interpreted by war, but is largely continuous with the concept of its piety, that
jihad as earnestness leads to Allah to reach maqam wuşul and musyāhadah. The
implication of this study is that it can provide an overview of the jihadi verse
because of the importance of reviewing it so that there is no misunderstanding in
interpreting the jihadi verse
Aplikasi Pendekatan Hermeneutika Al-Qur’an Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd terhadap QS. Al-Nisa’ (4): 3 dan Al-Nahl (16): 3-4
Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd is a Muslim intellectual whose ideas on the Qur’an was contradicting many Egyptian Muslims. He mentioned the Qur'an as a cultural product in the development of Arabic culture because it was revealed gradually according to the situation at that time. Through five contexts, he offered interpretation of the Qur’an that does not distort the text and are based on socio-cultural (hermeneutic). This paper focuses on studying the hermeneutic approach of Abu Zayd and its implications on the interpretation of QS. 4: 3 and 40: 57. The research method is library research by browsing data from books, books, journals and other kinds of literature related to the problem. The results of the study show that hermeneutics can be an alternative methodology for bridging dialogue between text and reality in producing contextual understanding without leaving the Qur’anic chronology and history while obtaining critical understanding. Instead of permitting polygamy, QS. 4: 3, according to him, actually accentuates the context of monogamy. This is in accordance with the context to protect society. Meanwhile, the interpretation QS. 40: 57 that the creation of heavens and earth through al-haq indicates the meaning (materials of creation) instead of creation activity (process)
SIMBOLISASI TRADISI NGABDUL QODIRAN DI PONDOK PESANTREN AL LUQMANIYYAH YOGYAKARTA: Kajian Living Qur’an
There are many symbols that the writer found in Ngabdul Qodiran tradition which are not found in manaqiban and Shaykh 'Abdul Qodir al-Jailani's haul traditions, which all are the same practices in which their activities use the Wasilah to Shaykh' Abdul Qodir al -Jailani. There are a number of texts that distinguish them one to the others. In manaqiban, the texts read are the history of Shaykh 'Abdul Qodir which were written in the form of a story and syi'ir. In haul, the texts read are Surah Yasin and tahlil texts which are directly sent to the deceased. While in Ngabdul Qodiran tradition, the texts read are selected surahs and dzkir as asmaul husna. In addition, special dishes of Ngabdul Qodiran are inseparable in the series of Ngoddul Qodiran tradition; all of which have their own meanings and contain great wishes. In the phenomenon of Ngabdul Qodiran tradition, it is found that there are symbols which have their respective purposes
