Study Attitude And Academic Achievement At Secondary Level In Pakistan
The author compared study attitudes of low and high achievers by using a self-developed study attitude scale (SAS) consisting of 36 items. Academic performance was measured through marks obtained by the students in the 9th grade examination conducted by the external body. The analysis revealed that the study attitude of secondary school students was related with their academic achievement. A t-test for independent samples showed that there was a significant difference between the study attitude of male, female, rural and urban students

Destructive Environmental Discourse: An Author\u27s Writing Strategy in Children\u27s Stories
This article aims to describe the discourse of the destructive environment found in the book Indonesian Children\u27s Stories of Choice and explain the presence of destructive environmental discourses as an author\u27s writing strategy. Environmental discourse is a subject of special attention in studying language related to the environment. This study uses the Ecolinguistic theory of the story we lived by Arran Stibbe. Environment discourse is stories that live in a community environment that influences and even determines one\u27s mind. The environment consists of constructive and descriptive discourse. This study focuses on destructive environmental discourse, i.e., disasters containing information that violates or opposes environmental conservation values. The results of this study indicate that destructive environments are one of the authors\u27 writing strategies for punishing characters in stories that contradict the environmental values of intelligence. In addition, the discourse of environmental destruction is created to be the reason for the presence of the discourses of resistance that are constructive and on the side of the wisdom of the environment. This study concludes that the authors use the environmental disasters as part of the message of the story to be known so as not to be done or followed by readers, especially readers from among children
Hukum Hadat Dayak Ngaju: Tahiu Janji Pangawin di Kalimantan Tengah
The purpose of this study is to find out how the Ngaju Dayak Hadat Law regulates the application of tahiu promise pangawin to the Ngaju Dayak indigenous people. The method that the author uses is a normative research method with a library study approach, using primary and secondary legal materials such as 96 articles of Damai Tumbang Anoi, the book of Panaturan, marriage agreements, legal books and legal research results. The results of this study that know the promise of pangawin is a customary law of the Ngaju Dayak community to form an eternal household but only death can separate because for the Ngaju Dayak indigenous people marriage is a sacred and sacred thing, it is very necessary to maintain its sanctity. In accordance with the teachings they believe, referring to the marriage stories between Raja Garing Hatungku and Nyai Endas Bulau Lisan Tingang in the book of Panaturan chapter 30. For those who violate the promise of marriage, they will be subject to sanctions in accordance with article 3, namely singer hatulang not yet in the 96 articles of Peace. Fall Anoi
The role of diffusion of innovation theory towards the adoption of halal meat supply chain
This paper aims to examine the factors that drive the exporter’s influence toward halal meat supply chain adoption by encompassing the diffusion of innovation (DOI) theory in the context of Pakistan. Using DOI as an underpinning theory, this study evaluates halal supply chain adoption by collecting data from the members of associations from Pakistan. A total of 258 useable responses were received, and PLS-SEMwas adopted using SmartPLS. The exporter’s adoption of the halal supply chain is determined not only by perceived relative advantage and perceived compatibility but also by perceived complexity, religious beliefs and awareness. Though this study has practical and managerial implications, it has few limitations. Further studies need to be conducted in other contexts as well with a larger population. There are limited studies that have tested DOI theory in the context of the halal meat supply chain in Pakistan. Therefore, the author extends the diffusion theory of innovation in the current work. Further, this paper will be a helpful reference guide for academicians, practitioners and researchers
Selecting Loss-Function for Unseen (Out-of-Distribution) Action Recognition in Videos
Recognizing what is happening in a movie is an essential aspect of various software, such as video analysis, video surveillance, and human-computer interaction. However, the presence of out-of-distribution (OOD) samples can often hamper the performance of action recognition systems. The purpose of this work is to develop a system that can detect human actions in video sequences along with detecting OOD samples. We propose a simple model that uses I3D features to identify the actions in the video. To detect the unseen (OOD) samples we analyzed various loss-functions that drops the confidence of model more on the unseen samples as compared to seen samples. We evaluated our system’s performance on the UCF101 dataset. The results show that proposed model detect seen actions with 91% whereas unseen actions with 80% accuracy. This research opens up new possibilities for creating powerful action recognition systems that can operate effectively in real-world environments
