The purpose of the phase study was to evaluate the yield potential and adaptation of some varieties of rice in saline soil based on vegetatif response, generative, physiology and yield components and yield responses. The research was conducted in Paluh Merbau, Tanjung Rejo village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, Indonesia, on April 2012 till January 2013. The study is arranged in a randomized block design (RAK) non-factorial with three replications. Ten varieties tested are Ciherang, IR 64, Dendang, Lambur, Batanghari, Banyuasin, Indragiri, IR 42, Inpara 10and Margasari. Ten varieties have been tested based on the results of previous studies. The study in the nursery showed that the response of the eight varieties of rice that salinity significantly affect the potential for growth, germination and vigor index. Respons eight varieties due to salinity also showed significant effect on plant height, number of tillers, number of productive tillers, number of chlorophyll, leaf area, panicle length, density of stomata, the amount of grain contains per panicle, number of grain hollow per panicle, uptake K, uptake Na, the ratio K / Na, uptake of N, P uptake, the content of proline, leaf turgor pressure, vigor index. Heritability calculations also show the relationship between varieties with salinity for observation variables tested. The response of each variety varies depending on the nature of tolerance or sensitivity to salinity. Observations show that the growth and production of varieties Banyuasin (V6) has the best growth and production of the highest compared with other varieties. The aim of the second phase was to determine the increase of tolerance and adaptation of some varieties of rice on saline soils by using anti-oxidants Ascorbic Acid and PK fertilization through leaves. The second phase is also implemented in the hamlet Paluh Merbau, Tanjung Rejo village, District Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, Indonesia in May 2013 to the month of February 2014. This research is compiled in the draft separate plots (RPPT) with three treatment factors and three replications. Treatment factor of the first varieties as the main plot, there are eight varieties used are Ciherang (V1), IR 64 (V2), Lambur (V4), Batang (V5), Banyuasin (V6), IR 42 (V8), Inpara 10 (V9) and Margasari (V10). All eight varieties have been based on the results of the first phase of research. The second factor is Fertilization PK as a subplot, consists of four (4) levels, namely : P0 = 0 mg/l, P1 = 50 mg/l, P2 = 100 mg/l and P3 = 150 mg/l. While the third factor is Ascorbic Acid with 4 levels, namely: A0 = 0 ppm, A1 = 500 ppm, A2 = 1000 ppm and A3 = 1500 ppm. The results showed that the salinity tolerant paddy rice varieties able to grow and produce better than susceptible varieties based characterization variables vegetative components, physiological components, generative components, yield and yield components. Banyuasin varieties are varieties that have the highest growth and production in saline soil. When compared with controls, the application of PK fertilizers through the leaves can increase the growth and production of paddy rice in saline soil with an increase in value for the variable component of vegetative physiological components, generative components, yield components and the results are due to the preservation of balance and nutrient availability. PK fertilizer applications through the leaves with a concentration of 150 mg / l (P3) gives the best results for all variables nearly observations. Use of Ascorbic Acid application is able to assist paddy to grow and produce better in saline soil with vegetative component changes, physiological components, generative components, component results and outcomes associated with its role as an antioxidant to cope with oxidative stress caused by salinity. Application Ascorbic Acid with a concentration of 1500 ppm (A3) gives the best results for all variables nearly observations. It can be concluded that the use of varieties with combined treatment Banyuasin PK fertilizers through the leaves and the application of ascorbic acid can increase the yield of paddy experiencing salinity in saline soil.Upaya pengembangan padi di tanah salin menghadapi kendala cekaman salinitas. Padi adalah salah satu serealia yang peka terhadap cekaman salinitas. Produksi padi di lahan salin masih sangat rendah disebabkan cekaman osmotik, cekaman oksidatif,keracunan ion dan kekurangan hara. Tingkat toleransi terhadap cekaman salinitas dipengaruhi oleh faktor genetis dan fisiologis tanaman.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan produksi padi di lahan salin melalui penggunaan genotipa padi tahan cekaman salinitas, aplikasi asam askorbat dan pemberian pupuk PK melalui daun. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua tahap. Tahap pertama adalah untuk mengevaluasi potensi hasil dan adaptasi beberapa varietas padi sawah di tanah salin berdasarkan tanggapkomponenvegetatif,generatif, fisiologi, komponen hasil dan hasil dan tahap keduauntuk mengetahui peningkatan toleransi dan adaptasi beberapa varietas padi sawah di tanah salin dengan menggunakan anti oksidan Asam Askorbat dan pemupukan PK melalui daun. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Dusun Paluh Merbau, Desa Tanjung Rejo, Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang, Sumatera Utara, Indonesia, pada bulan April 2012 sampai Januari 2013 dan pada bulan Mei 2013 hingga Pebruari 2014. Penelitian ini disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) non-faktorial dengan tiga ulangan. Sepuluh varietas yang dicobakan adalah Ciherang,IR 64, Dendang, Lambur, Batanghari, Banyuasin, Indragiri, IR 42, Inpara 10 dan Margasari di pesemaian, selanjutnya setelah pindah tanam terpilih delapan varietas. Delapan varietas ini dipilih berdasarkan hasil penapisan pada penelitian awal di pesemaian berdasarkan pengamatan visual “salt injury score”. Delapan varietas tersebut adalah Ciherang, IR 64, Lambur, Batanghari, Banyuasin, IR 42, Inpara 10 dan Margasari. Sedangkan penelitian tahap kedua disusun dalamrancangan petak-petak terpisah (RPPT) dengan tiga faktor perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Faktor perlakuan pertama adalah varietas sebagai petak utama, ada delapanvarietasyang digunakan yaituCiherang, IR 64, Lambur, Batanghari, Banyuasin, IR 42, Inpara 10 dan Margasari. Ke-delapan varietas ini dipilih berdasarkan hasil penelitian tahap pertama. Faktor kedua adalah Pemupukan PK sebagai anak petak, terdiri dari empat (4) taraf konsentrasi, yaitu : 0 mg/l, 50 mg/l, 100 mg/l dan 150 mg/l. Sedangkan Faktor yang ketiga adalah Asam Askorbat dengan 4 taraf konsentrasi yaitu : 0 ppm, 500 ppm, 1000 ppm dan 1500 ppm. Hasil penelitian di pesemaian menunjukkan bahwa tanggap delapan varietas tersebut akibat cekaman salinitas nyata mempengaruhi potensi tumbuh, daya kecambah dan indeks vigor. Tanggap delapan varietas terhadap cekaman salinitas berbeda-beda berdasarkan analisis statistik untuk peubah tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan, jumlah anakan produktif, jumlah klorofil, luas daun, panjang malai, kerapatan stomata, jumlah gabah berisi per malai, jumlah gabah hampa per malai, serapan K, serapan Na, rasio K/Na, serapan N, serapan P, kandungan prolin, tekanan turgor daun, indeks vigor. Nilai heritabilitas untuk seluruh peubah amatan tinggi kecuali untuk peubah jumlah anakan total, jumlah klorofil, jumlah gabah berisi per malai dan tekanan turgor bernilai sedang, yang menunjukkan hubungan yang erat antara varietas dengan cekaman salinitas untuk peubah pengamatanyang diuji. Respon masing-masing varietas bervariasi tergantung pada sifat toleransi atau sensitivitas terhadap cekaman salinitas. Hasil penapisan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan dan produktivitasvarietas Banyuasin lebih baik bila dibandingkan dengan varietas lainnya. Hasil penelitian tahap duamenunjukkan bahwa varietas padi sawah toleran salinitas mampu tumbuh dan berproduksi lebih baik dibandingkan varietas peka berdasarkan karakterisasi peubah komponen vegetatif, komponen fisiologis, komponen generatif , komponen hasil dan hasil. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa varietas Banyuasin merupakan varietas yang memiliki produktivitas tertinggi di tanah salin bila dibandingkan varietas lainnya. Bila dibandingkan dengan kontrol, tanaman yang diaplikasikan pupuk PK melalui daun pertumbuhan dan produktivitasnya lebih baik.Aplikasi pupuk PK dengan konsentrasi 150 mg/lmenghasilkan produktivitas tanaman yang lebih baik hampir untuk semua peubah amatan. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Asam Askorbat mampu membantu padi sawah untuk tumbuh dan berproduksi lebih baik di tanah salin dengan adanya perubahan komponen vegetatif, komponen fisiologis, komponen generatif,komponen hasil dan hasil terkait dengan perannya sebagai antioksidan untuk mengatasi stres oksidatif yang terjadi akibat cekaman salinitas. Aplikasi Asam Askorbat dengan konsentrasi 1500 ppm menunjukkan kecenderungan hasil terbaik hampir untuk semua peubah amatan.     This research was conducted to investigate the production and growth response of cucumber with adopted of cow manure and supernasa solid fertilizer in the field trials of Agricultural Faculty of North Sumatera Muhammadiyah University, altitude of 27 m above sea level with a factorial randomized, block design with two treatment factors were manure factor (K) in 3 rate treatments is 0; 3,6; 7,2 kg/plotting notated as K0, K1, K2. While the second factors were supernasa solid fertlizer (S) in 4 rate treatments is 0; 2,7; 5,4; 8,1 gr/plotting notated as S0, S1, S2, S3. Variables measured were plant height, fruit height, fruit diameter, planting fruit weight and number of fruit crops. The result of the reseach was 7,2 kg/plotting cow manure has significant effect on the variables plant height ang fruit height but werent significant for another variables. Provision of 8,1 gr/plotting supernasa solid fertilizer has significant effect on the variables fruit height, fruit diameter and planting fruit weight, but werent significant for another variables.     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan limbah organik dan mengetahui pengaruhnya terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman kacang hijau. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2016 sampai bulan Desember 2016 di Lahan Pertanian Badan Meteorologi Klimatologi dan Geofisika (BMKG) Sampali. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan 3 ulangan dan terdiri dari 2 faktor perlakuan, yaitu : Pemberian Kompos bunga jantan kelapa sawit (K) dengan 4 taraf, yaitu : K0 : Kontrol, K1 : 75 g/Plot, K2 :150 g/Plot, K3 : 225 g/Plot dan pemberian Pupuk Urin Kelinci (U) dengan 3 taraf, yaitu : U0 : Kontrol, U1: 20 ml/tanaman, U2 : 40 ml/tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi Kompos bunga jantan kelapa sawit pada tanaman kacang hijau memberikan pengaruh yang nyata pada beberapa parameter pengamatan yaitu jumlah polong perplot, berat polong pertanaman, berat polong perplot, berat biji kering pertanaman, berat biji kering perplot, namun tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah cabang, umur berbunga dan berat 100 biji kering. Selanjutnya, pemberian urin kelinci dan interaksi kedua perlakuan tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua peubah amatan.Kata Kunci : Kompos, Urin kelinci, Pertumbuhan, Produksi, Kacang Hija

    THE CHARACTER OF PALM OIL SEEDLINGS GROWTH AT PRE NURSERY BY APPLICATION OF BIO-URINE OF GOAT

    The study aims to determine the response of oil palm seedling growth (Elaies guineensis Jacq) on the pre nursery to the giving of goat biourin. The study was conducted in December 2017 to February 2018 on Jl. Tuar, No. 65, Medan Amplas District, Medan City, North Sumatra Province with altitude of ± 27 meters above sea level. The study was conducted using Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD), consisting of two factors studied, the first factor was the concentration of goat biourin (K) with 4 levels, namely: K0: control, K1: 120 ml / liter of water, K2: 240 ml / liter of water and K3: 360 ml / liter of water. The second factor was the interval of giving goat biourin (A) with 3 levels, namely A1: 4 days, A2: 6 days and A3: 8 days. The results showed that giving goat biourin significantly affected the parameters of canopy wet weight, root wet weight and canopy dry weight. The interval for giving goat biourin significantly affected the dry weight parameters of the canopy. The best treatment for K3: 360 ml liter of water / plot. The interaction of the administration of goat biourin with the application interval significantly affected the dry weight of the canopy

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
