The implications for ministry of the teachings of Kenneth Cracknell with special reference to former students

    No full text
To be effective in ministry in the contemporary religious milieu, today's seminarians, tomorrow's church leaders, must receive more than a mere academic experience; they need practical experience as to how to function effectively within a socially diverse climate of faith. The author documents the long term impact of Kenneth Cracknell's attempts to nurture cross cultural understanding and cooperation within the seminary context. The intent of this exposition is to demonstrate that Kenneth Cracknell has purposefully created a tranformative environment using interfaith dialogue as an effective paradigm for informing today's diverse seminary population. To that end, opinions, reactions and musings of a dozen former students are documented and presented herein as models of appropriate conversation for interfaith dialogue

Distinguished Alumni Award Program author. CAPT Kenneth Reightler, Jr. USN (Ret) (Presented 6 Aug 09)The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) currently has no laboratory facilities to support the teaching of flight mechanics. This thesis concerns a feasibility study con- ducted to define the need for a flight mechanics laboratory at NPS, determine the methods used at other universities and availability of resources, develop a plan to integrate laboratory facilities into the NPS aeronautical engineering syllabus, and make recommendations concerning changes needed in the NPS Department of Aeronautics to enhance the teaching of flight mechanics. The general conclusion of the study is that a flight mechanics laboratory is essential to the study of flight mechanics at NPS. The proposed laboratory should include the selective use of flight simulators, computer instructional devices, a flight demonstration airplane, a fully instrumented flying laboratory, and a variable stability airplane. Extensive use should be made of contracted services. A flight mechanics laboratory used to support classroom instruction and research should be established at NPS as soon as possible.NANAU.S. Navy (U.S.N.) author.http://archive.org/details/thenavalpostgrad109452146

When Kenneth Clark did his monumental Civilisation series for the BBC some thirty years ago he subtitled it "A Personal View," which really amounts to an oxymoron, as if a survey of some two thousand years of western culture could be anything else. Henry Louis Gates, Jr., scholar-celebrity, chair of Harvard University's Afro-American studies program, director of the W.E.B. DuBois Institute for Afro-American Research, MacArthur Foundation fellow, frequent contributor to the New Yorker magazine, and author of the award winning The Signifying Monkey: A Theory of Afro-American Literary Criticism, recalls the influence that series had on a young and impressionable "Skip" Gates growing up in Piedmont, West Virginia

Kaitlin acts as a stabilizer and female role model as well as a lover in this piece and after the loss the main character, Doug Fatima, descends in a myriad of various drug addictions and abuse incidents. These incidents will be mirrored by the five stages of grief which are, in order: Denial, Bargaining, Anger, Depression, and Acceptance. These five stages of grief will also function as the titles to my chapters. No full text
The biosynthesis of brominated tyrosine metabolites by the marine sponge Aplysina fistularis was investigated. (UU-\sp{14}C) -L-Tyrosine, (UU-\sp{14}C) -L-3-bromotyrosine, and (UU-\sp{14}) -3,5-dibromotyrosine were incorporated into both dibromoverongiaquinol and aeroplysinin-1, and (methyl-\sp{14}C) methionine was specifically incorporated into the O-methyl group of aeroplysinin-1. (Methyl-\sp{14}C) -O-methyltyrosine and (methyl-\sp{14}C) -3,5-dibromo-O-methyltyrosine and several putative nitrile precursors were not significantly incorporated into aeroplysinin-1.Made available in DSpace on 2011-05-07T12:32:36Z (GMT).
