La familia de distribuciones Zografos-Balakrishnan tipo I de colas pesadas G con aplicaciones
We propose a new family of distributions called the Zografos-Balakrishnan type-I heavy-tailed-G (ZBTIHT-G) distributions. A special model of the proposed family, namely Zografos-Balakrishnan type-I heavy-tailed-Weibull (ZBTIHT-W) model is thoroughly studied. Statistical properties of the new family of distributions including, among others, the hazard rate function, quantile function, moments, distribution of order statistics and Rényi entropy are presented. The maximum likelihood method of estimation is used for estimating the model parameters and Monte Carlo simulation is conducted to examine the performance of the estimators of the model parameters. The flexibility and importance of the new family of distributions are demonstrated by means of applications to real data sets.Proponemos una nueva familia de distribuciones Zografos-Balakrishnan tipo I de colas pesadas G con aplicaciones (ZBTIHT-G). Study on Zografos-Balakrishnan G-Family of Distributions
For any continuous baseline G distribution, Zografos and Balakrishnan (2009) proposed generalized gamma generated G-family of Distributions with an extra positive parameter. Nadarajah and Cordiero (2015) proposed various mathematical properties of such distributions. Lee and Famaye (2014) proposed the T-X family of distributions. As a part of these two families we propose two new gamma generated distributions such as gamma-Gumbel and gamma-normal distribution. Applications are stated as to why we need these distributions and some properties of these distributions have been derived. We have found out various properties of these distributions such as probability density function (pdf),Cumulative distribution function (cdf), survival function and hazard rate function. Expansions of pdf and cdf, asymptotes, quantile function, moment, extreme values, reliability, mean, median, mode, moment generating function, order statistics, Renyi and Shannon Entropy, bivariate generalizations and Maximum likilihood estimator (MLE). We also propose some theorems pertaining to moment of these distributions
On the Ristic–Balakrishnan distribution: Bivariate extension and characterizations
Over the last few decades, a significant development has been made toward the augmentation of some well-known lifetime distributions by various strategies. These newly developed models have enjoyed a considerable amount of success in modeling various real life phenomena. Motivated by this, Ristic and Balakrishnan developed a special class of univariate distributions. We call this family of distribution the RB-G family of distributions. The RB-G family has the same parameters of the baseline distribution plus an additional positive shape parameter a. Several RB-G distributions can be obtained from a specified G distribution. For α=1, the baseline G distribution is a basic exemplar of the RB-G family with a continuous crossover toward cases with various shapes. In this article we focus our attention on the characterizations of this family and discuss some structural properties of the bivariate RB-G family of distributions that are not discussed in detail by Ristic and Balakrishnan
On defect CFT and path integral methods for entanglement in quantum field theories
In the first few chapters of the thesis, we will study defect CFT methods based on the replica trick for characterizing quantum information in quantum field theories. We calculate a coefficient that characterizes the strength of the two point function of the displacement operator in the replica twist defect placed in a holographic CFT, which controls the second order shape dependence of Renyi entropy. We introduce defect CFT methods for calculating correlation functions involving the modular Hamiltonian together with probe operators inserted at lightcone separation. We use these methods to further calculate correlation functions involving modular flows of these probe operators. Tomita-Takesaki theory constrains these correlation functions, which when combined with our defect CFT calculations, provides a proof of the Quantum Null Energy Condition.
In the last few chapters of this thesis, we will calculate entanglement measures for states that are defined by a Euclidean path integral together with a source for an operator inserted in the path integral. We provide a purely Lorentzian formula for the modular Hamiltonians for these states for flat entangling cuts which systematizes the task of writing time-ordered expressions for relative entropy of these states with respect to the vacuum to all orders in the source. We further apply this method to calculate a formula for shape deformed modular Hamiltonian for the vacuum state to all orders in the shape deformation. In the case of null shape deformation, we recover the formula for the vacuum modular Hamiltonian for null cuts. We then calculate the shape deformation of relative entropy and provide evidence for the presence of a shock in the stress tensor expectation value when one performs the Connes cocycle flow of the state.Submission published under a 24 month embargo labeled 'U of I Access', the embargo will last until 2023-12-01The student, Srivatsan Balakrishnan, accepted the attached license on 2021-07-16 at 15:10.The student, Srivatsan Balakrishnan, submitted this Dissertation for approval on 2021-07-16 at 15:25.This Dissertation was approved for publication on 2021-07-19 at 10:22.DSpace SAF Submission Ingestion Package generated from Vireo submission #16990 on 2022-04-06 at 17:16:09Made available in DSpace on 2022-04-29T21:41:38Z (GMT). Review on Some G-Family Distributions
In this thesis we study the properties of some G-family of distributions, such as, Kumaraswamy-G family, Zografos-Balakrishnan-G family and Ristic-Balakrishnan-G family for any continuous baseline G distribution. Here, we provide a thorough study of general mathematical properties of these family of distributions. We are trying to find out some new distributions by making use of the families demonstrated. We discuss the properties of Zografos-Balakrishnan-generalized exponential distribution, such as, probability density function (pdf), cumulative distribution function (cdf), hazard rate function, moments, quantile function, entropy and estimation of the parameters by maximum likelihood method
The Role of Foreign Precedents in a Country\u27s Legal System
The use of foreign judgments in domestic constitutional adjudication has proved to be contentious in both the USA and India. Chief Justice Balakrishnan argues that there is no principle of law that constrains a constitutional court from referring to these judgments, and specifically addresses possible differences in the constitutional scheme in the United States and India in this respect. Chief Justice Balakrishnan emphasises, however, that this exercise must proceed with caution, and carefully examine structural similarities before applying the decision of a foreign court to a domestic question. He offers several examples in the jurisprudence of the Supreme Court of India that could serve as a model for the use of foreign judgments in constitutional adjudication
