Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Penelitian ini difokuskan kepada pengembangan keterampilan menggunakan tools penyelesaian masalah, yang bersifat pemikiran kompleks. Metodologi yang digunkan adalah penelitian pengembangan, yang dimulai dari analisis dan desain, pengembangan, sampai dengan evaluasi formatif terhadap hasil pengembangan tersebut. Dari hasil analisis program yang dikembangkan diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa program sudah memenuhi standar online learning dan dapat diintegrasikan dengan LMS (Learning Management System) yang sudah ada. Meskipun demikian, karena kebijakan dan keterbatasan sumber daya yang tersedia, maka beberapa fitur penting dalam LMS belum bias dimanfaatkan secara optimal untuk penyelenggaraan belajar online yang lebih komprehensif

Get PDFThe increasing concentration of the population in urban areas has raised issues in many areas of life. City management is challenged to find a smarter solution to solve the problem. One such solution is smart city. It takes a roadmap of smart city development that is really based on the needs of a city on the one hand, as well as the choice of services that will be developed on the other side. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim to develop technology-service roadmap for smart city development. This research was conducted using case study method. The data was obtained through literature study and a series of workshops by taking Bekasi Kota Cerdas (BKC) project as a case study, and by using analytic hierarchical process method. As a result, the roadmap preparation method used is concluded to be very helpful for the preparation of roadmap. In addition, the priority assessment data obtained from resource persons and respondents met the desired consistency requirements (CR ≤ 0.1). The five-year roadmap produced focused on BKC Energy Services with the most prioritized support preference technologies being WSN, RFID, 3G, LCD, Tiny DB, and RFID / USN Security and DB Security.Konsentrasi penduduk di wilayah perkotaan yang semakin meninggi, telah memunculkan persoalan-persoalan dalam berbagai bidang kehidupan. Pengelolaan kota ditantang menemukan solusi yang lebih smart untuk mengatasi persoalan tersebut. Salah satu dari solusi tersebut adalah smart city. Dibutuhkan roadmap pengembangan smart city yang betul-betul berpijak pada kebutuhan suatu kota di satu sisi, serta pilihan-pilihan layana yang akan dikembangkan di sisi lainnya. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengembangkan roadmap layanan-teknologi bagi pengembangan smart city. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui studi pustaka dan serangkaian workshop dengan mengambil proyek Bekasi Kota Cerdas (BKC) sebagai kasus studi, serta dengan menggunakan bantuan metode analytic hierarchical process. Hasilnya, metode penyusunan roadmap yang digunakan tersebut disimpulkan sangat membantu efektiftas penyusunan roadmap. Selain itu, data-data penilaian prioritas yang diperoleh dari para nara sumber dan responden memenuhi persyaratan konsistensi yang diinginkan (CR ≤ 0,1). Roadmap lima tahun yang dihasilkan difokuskan pada layanan BKC Bidang Energi dengan hasil preferensi teknologi pendukung paling prioritas adalah WSN, RFID, 3G, LCD, Tiny DB, serta RFID/USN Security dan DB Security

As an institution that promotes modern education and training in the Ministry of TransportationRepublic of Indonesia, ATKP (Akademi Teknik dan Keselamatan Penerbangan) Surabaya anticipated the change of learning technology. To meet this challenge, ATKP hasstarted to implement m-learning and its integration with other learning system. As a result, ATKP is now able to provide the technology, establish the rules and policy, help develop human resource, as well as provide benchmarking services. Up to this date, ATKP has achieved and implemented a whole new idea in learning, especially in utilizing information and communication technology in mobile learning, as shown by their staff as well as the cadets. It is recognized that the ATKP future development is largely determined by the efforts related to the growing awareness in the academic community in optimizing new learning resources that have been constructed
