Investigation on performance and cost of combine harvester: case study at Kg Tengah, Padang Merlimau, Melaka paddy field / Muhammad Naziruldin Zubairy and Muhammad Aliuddin Bakar
Get PDFIn Malaysia, using machinery in the plantation sector is the most common useful technology that implements in a field operation in order to improve efficiency, productivity, and reduce the labour cost. The objective of this study is to investigate the performance and cost of ownership and operation cost of combine harvester, to evaluate the efficiency of combine harvester based useful life and to help the owner to analyse data. Plus, to evaluate the cost based on age of combine harvester. The study observed at Tengah Padang Merlimau, Melaka Paddy field. The primary data was collected to get the average of time an average of speed of combine harvester during harvesting operation in a paddy field. The evaluation, based on motion study in order to determine the TFC.EFC and FE as measure the performance of combine harvester model New Holland S-1550. The average of TFC is 2.10 Ha/HR while the EFC was estimated at 1.22 Ha/HR or 5 Ton/HR and FE is 58.10% with average speed 4.92 Km/HR. The combine harvester was harvested at an average speed at 4.92 km/HR. Besides, the secondary data were collected to estimate the operation area and determine the actual costs for five years of combine harvester useful life. The calculation was conducted by using formula and interpret in the total cost that required to spend in even' years. By using the declining method, the percentage of depreciation was estimated at 84.8% decline in 5years. Plus, the insurance, shelter, tax, and interest was assumed RM 8000 per year. However, the higher fixed cost in the year 2014 amounted RM 22.10 per ha. The higher operating cost was estimated in the year 2013 at contributed RM60.26 per ha. In this case, the ability of a machine is might be influenced towards another factor such as geographical factor, the machine condition and maintenance, labour skills and knowledge and more. The objective of this study is to study the total cost of FFB evacuation by tractor per year in field, factor that influence total cost of farm tractor per year and to study the effectiveness and efficiency of total cost toward the tractor operation. The farm tractor used is John Deere 5715 model. 89hp. Fixed cost like depreciation, tax and insurance not be calculated because this estate use old tractor. This study more focusing to the total operating cost which is Fuel, lubricants, repair, maintenance and labor. The higher total operating cost for year 2017 is at February which is RM 6442 because tractor was breakdown and go to workshop. Total repair for this tractor at this month is RM 5645 just for spares and RM 269, RM528 for servicing and lubricants. Based on 4 years data analysis, it shown 2017 is the highest operating cost which is RM 52273 and 2016 is the lowest operating cost with RM 37519. Based on the data analyse it shown that more life span of tractor, more expenses of total operating cost to be spent to maintain the farm tractor in good condition and to running maximize to increase the profitability of the company

The total cost of the tractor can be measured based on the activity in-field operations. Nowadays, the problems of the high total cost of tractors in plantation can affect the financing problem towards the company. Tractor usage for in-field operation in the plantation is significant to make sure the Fresh Fruit Bunch deliver to the RAM within 24 hours. Besides, tractor usage also important to make sure the fertiliser bag reaches the working area on time. Movement of the tractor is based on the worker while during the broadcasting of fertilizer. The total cost of the tractor in Ladang Tanah Makmur Berhad was investigate. Data were collect from 2016 until 2017 on one tractor. The data were categorized into different costs constituting the cost of operating tractors such as repair and maintenance, fuel and lubricants, driver's wages, insurance, road taxes and miscellaneous costs. Different formula was used to analyze these operating costs. The results showed that the total cost in 2016 is higher than in 2017. Objectives of the study are to know the specific cost of the tractor annually. 1 take the total cost record of the tractor for the whole 2016 and 2017. Next, to evaluate and make recommendations on the ways that will enhance farm machinery utilisation and maintenance. counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
