Alice’n Records / Adam Badruddin Syah
Alice’n Records is a sole proprietorship record company owned by musician Adam Badruddin Syah. They are an independent record label based in Malaysia and have two branches, one in Gombak and the other in Ampang. A successful and recognizable musician, Adam Badruddin Syah has huge models to start up a record company. He founded Alice’n Records in his hometown of Gombak, Selangor where he purchased a building a refurbished building for his personal recording studio but in the end thought of the idea to start up a record label. The business began its retail operation in Gombak, Selangor thus making it the record label’s headquareters. The other store of Alice’n Records is located in Ampang which also has a record pressing plant where they produce vinyl records making the first ever company in Malaysia to press vinyl records.
The name Alice’n Records derives from Adam Badruddin Syah’s wife’s name as she is an avid record collector and admirer of vintage music gear. The company does not only sell vinyl records but also does other services such as studio recording for artists and also restoring old and broken phonographs or record players. Many famous bands have signed under Alice’n Records’ label such as “Bunkface” of Malaysia and also The Raconteurs which is a highly acclaimed rock band from the United States. Adam Badruddin Syah’s admiration has also led him to do other projects with the record company. For example, Alice’n Records once reissued lost tracks of old delta blues musicians such as Robert Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Big Bill Broonzy and much more from Paramount Records, one of the oldest record labels from the United States. They collaborated with another major independent record label from the UK known as 4AD for this project. This project led the two record companies to be nominated for Grammy’s for best box-set and packaging, the first ever record company in Malaysia to achieve this nomination.
The aim for Adam Badruddin Syah whilst starting the company is to share his love of music with all people and expose new and maybe young and upcoming artists to appreciate old music. Adam Badruddin Syah has a keen liking for analog machinery as he believes that it highly under-appreciated these days. So, he wants to let people know and understand the struggle and hardmanship that musicians had to face during the times of analog recording before digital technology came out
Comment on the comment by V.A.F. Costa, IJTS 49 (9) (2010) 1874-1875, on the paper by I. A. Badruddin, Z. A. Zainal, Z. A. Khan, Z. Mallick "Effect of viscous dissipation and radiation on natural convection in a porous medium embedded within vertical annulus", IJTS 46 (3) (2007) 221-227
A comment on a recent paper about the combined effects of radiation and viscous dissipation on the convection in an annular porous enclosure has raised the problem of the role played by the viscous dissipation and the pressure work contributions in buoyant flows. The aim of this further comment is to show that the criticism expressed by Costa on the model of the viscous dissipation effect employed in the paper by Badruddin and co-workers is unjustified

Chromatographic study of vitex hexane extract / Noor Fadzila Badruddin
Traditional plants have been used in the medicinal practice since hundred years ago. Most of these plants were claimed to have great therapeutic activities against various diseases. This study is pertaining to the purification and identification of chemical constituents of Vitex trifolia (V trifolia, family: Verbenaceae). Many studies reported the potential biological activities of this plant. However, only few scientific evidences have proved all these claims and further investigation should be conducted to examine the chemical compositions of V trifolia. The literature search on the chemical constituents of Vitex species had concluded that flavonoid was the most common type of chemical constituent of Vitex species. The chromatographic study had been applied in order to purify and investigate the chemical constituents from the leaves of V trifolia hexane extract. Subsequently, spectroscopic evidences suggested that one of the non polar substances could be a labdane-type compound that can be used as a reference standard in quantitative measurements

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Rustic epoxy resin console table / Muhammad Ammar Badruddin
This final year project was focused on the use of rustic wood slab with combination of epoxy resin that can enhance the appearance of the product design with an aesthetic look. As a result, this research was completed by designing and creating a console table that is more contemporary and unique as it should be. Due to the use of epoxy, it also can prevent decay and defect in wood and provide a long-lasting usage. Moreover, this design style is becoming more common among the younger generation and is currently the furniture design trend. The goal of this research is to produce a console table from acacia mangium wood slab in combination of epoxy resin. This aims to address several problems, including the design of tables especially console table in the furniture market which became far too plain and less in character. Nowadays, the raw materials used to make tables should be varied, including combinations of wood with a cheaper option mixed with metal, as well as plastic. As a result, the product was successfully designed and produced. Thus. a set of questionnaires was distributed to 150 respondents at different gender, age and profession. The characteristics evaluated by the respondents include material used, design, marketing and customers satisfaction
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
