No full textThis issue considers the theoretical problematic of the external and internal equilibrium in a semi-industrialized economy, which growth needs the imports of intermediate and capital goods, which are non-competitive with the domestic production, and its exports can be limited by a insufficient external demand. The first part is a simple formalization provided by the two-gap foreign assistance model, as conceived by CHENERY and his associates. The second part extends the analysis for a more modern context, where it\u27s opening the possibility of foreign debt as a way of financing the domestic capital formation.Este trabajo considera la problemática teórica del equilibrio interno y externo en una economía semi-industrializada, cuyo crecimiento requiere la importación de bienes intermedios y de capital, no competitivos con la producción interna, y cuyas exportaciones pueden estar limitadas por una demanda externa insuficiente. La primera parte es una revisión del análisis de CHENERY y sus asociados, en el contexto del modelo de dos brechas con ayuda externa. La segunda parte extiende el análisis para un contexto más moderno, donde se abre la posibilidad de endeudamiento externo como forma de financiar la formación interna de capital
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
