No full textNell’ambito di una ricerca su un test adattativo computer based per la stima dell’abilità matematica sono state analizzate le risposte errate a un item sulla risoluzione di problemi in ambito geometrico. La banca di item è stata calibrata secondo il modello di Rasch e l’item in oggetto ha una difficoltà medio-alta. L’analisi delle risposte errate ha permesso di individuare o ipotizzare le strategie risolutive degli studenti. Le risposte sono state categorizzate con una procedura a due livelli, legati ai passi fondamentali del processo risolutivo. Gli errori sono risultati più o meno distanti dalla risposta corretta, e hanno mostrato vari gradi di coerenza nel ragionamento. Sono poi state effettuate delle Anova sulle medie dell’abilità degli studenti per rilevare differenze fra le diverse categorie e mettere in relazione l’abilità degli studenti con l’errore commesso. Dai risultati si evince che l’abilità è correlata alla motivazione a procedere nella risoluzione
Analisi qualitativa del "botta e risposta"
No full textA partire dall’analisi qualiquantitativa condotta sui messaggi del forum depositati nella bacheca del servizio di ascolto di Telefono Giovane (“Botta e Risposta”), viene offerta una descrizione dettagliata dei comportamenti discorsivi dei soggetti coinvolti nell’interazione (utenti e volontari) e delle loro relazioni, sono descritte le caratteristiche e i contenuti dei messaggi scambiati, unitamente alle modalità e alle forme con cui si realizza l’ascolto mediato.
L’analisi è volta ad identificare come tale spazio venga utilizzato da utenti e volontari, rispetto alla rappresentazione dell’interlocutore aldilà dello schermo, i principali temi/vissuti portati, le connessioni tra messaggi iniziativa e risposte, cercando di mostrare le ricadute sulla relazione di procedure e modalità di gestione. Per raggiungere questo obiettivo, sono stati identificati 3 sottoinsiemi composti dai messaggi depositati dagli utenti, dalle relative risposte del servizio e dagli eventuali commenti (all’apertura del forum; a due anni dall’apertura; quelli presenti cioè nel momento di inizio della ricerca): di ciascuno vengono fornite le analisi complete per consentire al lettore di comprendere in profondità le dinamiche che si sono create
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

No full textNel 2001 l’Università di Padova attiva il primo insegnamento in Italia di Teoria dell’argomentazione. Dal 2006 una pionieristica Palestra di botta e risposta, all’insegna della Patavina Libertas, apre le sue sale d’allenamento agli studenti delle scuole superiori del Veneto e d’Italia e nel 2010 nasce l’Associazione per una Cultura e la Promozione del Dibattito – ACPD. L’esperienza di 12 tornei regionali e 5 nazionali ha prodotto questa guida al dibattito regolamentato, opera congiunta di un gruppo collaudato e solidale di docenti di filosofia e di pedagogia, esperti in comunicazione, in valutazione, in competenza informatica e documentale, linguisti, conduttori di blog di retorica, allenatori della scrittura e di oratoria, e soprattutto studenti “magnifici disputanti” protagonisti di campionati di dibattito, impegnati a mostrare la bellezza del ragionare e a far valere i propri argomenti a fronte di argomenti opposti
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Mario Botta e la nuova chiesa parrocchiale di Sambuceto
No full textIl 3 febbraio 2007 Mario Botta ha presentato a Pescara, nella Facoltà di Architettura dell'Università "d'Annunzio", il progetto di fattibilità per la nuova chiesa parrocchiale di S. Rocco a Sambuceto. Il tema progettuale relativo agli edifici sacri ha occupato gran parte dell'ultima produzione di Mario Botta, che, come ribadito a Pescara, è arrivato al Sacro progettando chiese ma anche una sinagoga ed un moschea, trovando le ragioni più profonde dell’architettura tout court. In quell’occasione l’autore ha incontrato il maestro ticinese trattando alcuni grandi temi della sua carriera e dell’architettura internazionale non solo contemporanea. La pubblicazione ripercorre le tappe più salienti del rapporto tra Botta e la progettazione di nuove chiese, per stringere la focale sull’episodio di Sambuceto, che ha interessato anche un difficile confronto con la precedente chiesa progettata e realizzata da Paride Pozzi, uno dei protagonisti dell’architettura del Novecento abruzzese. Chiude il volume l’intervista vera e propria, condotta dall’autore e consistente su cinque domande tematiche concernenti il rapporto tra l’architetto e la religione, l’eredità nel territorio dei grani lombardi dei secoli scorsi, la tipologia dello spazio sacro e le possibilità, oggi, della didattica di architettura.
On February 3, 2007 Mario Botta presented the feasibility study for the new parish church of St. Rocco, Sambuceto in the Faculty of Architecture at the University of "D'Annunzio", Pescara. The design theme related to the sacred buildings has occupied much of Mario Botta’s latest production whom, as reconfirmed in Pescara, arrived at Sacred buildings designing churches, but also a synagogue and a mosque, rapidly finding the underlying philosophy of architecture. On that occasion the author met the maestro Ticino and dealt with some of greatest subjects of his career, not only contemporary international architecture. The publication traces the phases of the relationship between Botta and the design of new churches, to increase the focus on Sambuceto which involved a difficult comparison between the previous church designed and built by Paride Pozzi, one of the key protagonists of twentieth century architecture in Abruzzo. The book ends with the interview itself, conducted by the author consisting of five questions and issues concerning the relationship between the architect and religion, the legacy of the region of Lombard grain in past centuries, types of sacred space and the opportunities today, in architectural teaching
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
Full text linkWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
