The relationship between the emotional intelligence and charismatic leadership characteristics of high school principals
No full textBu çalışmanın temel amacı öğretmen algılarına göre, ortaöğretim okulu müdürlerinin duygusal zekâ becerileri kullanma düzeyleri ile karizmatik liderlik becerileri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Araştırmanın evrenini Yozgat ili Merkez ilçede bulunan 19 ortaöğretim kurumunda 2019-2020 yılında görev yapan öğretmenler oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmaya bu okullarda çalışan 249 öğretmen katılmıştır. Veriler, "Kişisel Bilgi Formu", "Duygusal Zekâ Ölçeği" ve "Karizmatik Liderlik Ölçeği" yardımı ile toplanmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında toplanan veriler, SPSS paket programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmaya dâhil edilen öğretmenlerin demografik özellikleri hakkında yapılan tanımlayıcı istatistikî analizler için frekans ve yüzde alma teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Verilerin dağılım özellikleri belirlenmiştir. İki değişken arasında var olan ilişki durumunu belirlemek amacıyla Mann Whitney U, ikiden fazla değişken arasında var olan ilişkileri belirlemek amacıyla Kuruskal Wallis-H testi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Duygusal zekâ ile karizmatik liderlik arasındaki ilişki Spearman Korelâsyon Analizi ile incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular çerçevesinde; araştırmaya dâhil edilen öğretmenlerin algılarına göre okul yöneticilerinin duygusal zekâ kullanma becerilerini orta düzeyde karizmatik liderlik davranışlarını da orta düzeyde gösterdikleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Okul müdürlerinin duygusal zekâ kullanma düzeyleri ile karizmatik liderlik davranışları arasında pozitif yönlü ve anlamlı ilişki olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Öğretmen algılarına göre okul yöneticileri, karizmatik liderlik boyutlarından üye ihtiyaçlarına duyarlılık gösterme, statükoyu sürdürmeme ve çevresel duyarlılık gösterme davranışlarını yüksek düzeyde gösterirken, sıra dışı davranışlar sergileme ve kişisel risk üstlenme davranışlarını daha düşük bir düzeyde göstermektedirler. Yine araştırma sonuçlarına göre okul müdürlerinin duygusal zekâ becerilerini kullanmalarına yönelik öğretmen algıları öğretmenlerin demografik özelliklerine göre anlamlı bir şekilde farklılaşmazken, karizmatik liderlik algılarının öğretmenlerin cinsiyet ve yaş durumuna göre anlamlı bir şekilde farklılaşmaktadır. Çalışma sonunda ulaşılan bulgular ilgili alan yazına göre tartışılmıştır.The very aim of this study is to examine the relationship between high school principals' levels of using emotional intelligence skills and charismatic leadership skills, according to teacher perceptions. The universe of the research consists of teachers working in 19 secondary education institutions in the central district of Yozgat province in 2019-2020. 249 teachers working in these schools participated in the research. The data were collected with the help of the "Personal Information Form", "Emotional Intelligence Scale" and the "Charismatic Leadership Scale". The data collected within the scope of the research were analyzed with the SPSS package program. Frequency and percentage techniques were used for descriptive statistical analyzes about the demographic characteristics of the teachers included in the research. The distribution characteristics of the data were determined. The Mann Whitney U test was used to determine the relationship between two variables, and the Kuruskal Wallis-H test was used to determine the relationships between more than two variables. The relationship between emotional intelligence and charismatic leadership was examined with the Spearman Correlation Analysis. Within the framework of the findings obtained; According to the perceptions of the teachers included in the research, it was concluded that school administrators showed their emotional intelligence skills at a medium level and their charismatic leadership behaviors at a medium level. It was concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between school principals' levels of using emotional intelligence and charismatic leadership behaviors. According to perceptions of the teachers, school administrators show a high level of behaviors of showing sensitivity to member needs, not maintaining the status quo and showing environmental sensitivity from charismatic leadership dimensions, while exhibiting unusual behaviors and taking personal risks at a lower level. Again, according to the results of the research, while teacher perceptions of school principals' emotional intelligence skills do not differ significantly according to the demographic characteristics of teachers, charismatic leadership perceptions differ significantly according to the gender and age status of teachers. The results obtained from the field of the study are discussed on the basis of the relevant literature
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
