One of the primary schools in Male’ involving 20 grade 7 students have been purposefully selected. For focus group interviews, 10 participants who had extensive exposure to learning social studies through multimedia were interviewed, while the remaining 10 participants were selected from a class that rarely uses multimedia. Furthermore, 2 teachers who frequently and rarely use multimedia were used for the observation. Qualitative data was collected through a series of ongoing classroom observations of the teachers and students. Interviews with teachers and students were conducted at the beginning and at the end of the data collection phase. Coding and memo writing were used to evaluate data obtained through in-depth field interviews. The findings of this study indicated that lessons conducted in multimedia presentation are much better than the traditional method. Students’ interest, motivation and participation were reported to have increased using multimedia presentation. On the other hand, traditional instruction had no influence on the students’ academic achievement and motivation. The traditional method had difficulties in grasping abstract topics and thus made learning process harder. The multimedia elements used in the multimedia presentation group caused the students to be attentive and enjoyable (satisfaction) while the use of pictures and text, videos and animations influence motivation and enhanced learning. Students in the multimedia group were more involved in the learning process due to increased class participation. The use of multimedia integrated instructional methods, such as multimedia presentations, games, demonstrations and simulations, helps to improve instruction and motivation towards learning

Understanding scene structure from images
"The task of recovering 3D information from 2D images has long been a focus of Computer Vision research. Such information is useful in many applications: from robot navigation, where it allows the robot to understand the physical constraints of the environment it is in, to augmented reality, where 3D information is used to alter images and videos in physically plausible ways. While much progress has been made in this line of research there is still scope for further improvement. This is especially true in the case of pictures taken ""in the wild"", where variables such as the presence of clutter, people, irregularly shaped buildings, unusual camera angles, etc tend to cause current techniques to fail.
In this work we focus on recovering 3D information from images in the presence of clutter and other such variables. We work on both indoor and outdoor scenes, utilizing different approaches in each case in order to make the 3D information recovery more robust.
Since this work focuses on expanding existing techniques to work well on more challenging datasets, we had to create new datasets for both indoor and outdoor scenes that could test the robustness of our methods. Details of these datasets are also provided in this work."Item withdrawn by Mark Zulauf ([email protected]) on 2014-05-01T18:50:10Z

The Making of Law in Indonesia: A Criticism and Evaluation of The Practise of Legislative Function in The House of Representatives
The House of Representatives is a state institution that functions in the field of legislation. The current fact is that the DPR's performance in the field of legislation always gets records, because the resulting Law is still below Prolegnas target. On the basis of the problems as referred to, the writing of this article aims to find out what the problems and the efforts that need to be made in overcoming the problem of the formation of laws which fall under the authority of the DPR are. In the discussion, the author tries to provide criticism aimed at the process of forming a law in the DPR, seen from three indicators, namely from the legal substance factor, the legal structure factor and the legal culture factor, the legal substance relating to the current Law does not regulate the maximum number of Prolegnas, the legal structure related to law-forming institutions originating from political parties, and the legal culture related to community rejection of the bill being discussed. The solution to these 3 (three) problems needs to be changed, such as strengthening regulations regarding restrictions on performance-based Prolegnas submissions, making Integrity Facts for DPR members and regulations governing public involvement in making laws stronger, this needs to be done in order to keep it up. maintain the level of public trust in the DPR in carrying out its legislative functions
Invariant behavioural based discrimination for individual representation
Writer identification based on cursive words is one of the extensive behavioural biometric that has involved many researchers to work in. Recently, its main idea is in forensic investigation and biometric analysis as such the handwriting style can be used as individual behavioural adaptation for authenticating an author. In this study, a novel approach of presenting cursive features of authors is presented. The invariants-based discriminability of the features is proposed by discretizing the moment features of each writer using biometric invariant discretization cutting point (BIDCP). BIDCP is introduced for features perseverance to obtain better individual representations and discriminations. Our experiments have revealed that by using the proposed method, the authorship identification based on cursive words is significantly increased with an average identification rate of 99.80%
Determination of the effect of self-care based on the need for quality of life in people with AIDS
Introduction: Considering the prevalence of acquired immunodeficiency virus infection and the need to strengthen programs for improving quality of life, the present study was conducted to examine the effect of self-care based on the need for quality of life in people with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).
Material and methods: In a clinical trial study, 66 human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-positive patients referred to Navab Safavi Hospital in Isfahan were assigned to two intervention and control groups randomly. The first group was placed under the intervention of self-care program and no intervention was performed in the second group. The quality of life score of patients before and after the intervention in the two groups was examined and compared.
Results: The mean quality of life score in the intervention group was 68.7 +/- 11.8 before and reached 79.7 +/- 10.3 after intervention, which was statistically significant (p = 0.002). In the control group, the mean quality of life scores before and after treatment were 65.7 +/- 11.9 and 60.8 +/- 11.7, respectively, which was not statistically significant (p = 0.053). Also, the change in the quality of life score was statistically significant (p < 0.001) between case and control groups.
Conclusions: Providing self-care programs in patients with HIV leads to an increase in the quality of life in them. Since these patients are at risk for various types of psychiatric disorders, they must be mentally and emotionally supported and should be encouraged to improve their quality of life by promoting their own self-care programs. Medical science and doctors may find the findings useful in their medical experience and practice.
