Hubungan Computer Vision Syndrome dengan Kualitas Tidur Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sumatera Utara Angkatan 2017
Latar Belakang. The prevalence of CVS was higher in females (65.7%) compared to males (28%), and the difference was statistically significant (p=0.004). Headache (90%) and itching (86.7%) were the most common CVS symptoms. Poor sleep quality was present in 90% of individuals with CVS compared to 36.7% of students without CVS; the difference was statistically significant (p=0.001). All the components of PSQI score, except components 3 and 6, had statistically significantly (p<0.05) higher values in individuals with CVS as compared to individuals without CVS. Conclusion. CVS is significantly associated with poor sleep quality in medical students.96 HalamanSkripsi Sarjan
Profil Penderita Digital Eye Strain (DES) di Kalangan Mahasiswa Pre-Klinik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sumatera Utara
Background The increasing use of digital devices in everyday life impacts eye health. Digital Eye Strain (DES) is a collection of symptoms of eye and vision problems due to the use of digital devices. College students are known to be one of the groups with a high level of use of digital devices. Eye and vision disorders are known to cause interference with academic activities. Aim To determine the profile of DES sufferers among pre-clinical students at the Faculty of Medicine, University of North Sumatra. Methods This research is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach. Samples were obtained using a random sampling method based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results The prevalence of DES among pre-clinical students was 62.9%, where DES was suffered more by women than men. The most common ocular symptoms were itching in the eyes (76.8%) and extraocular symptoms in the form of neck pain (75%). The most common risk factors for DES were: eye distance ≤50cm (81.7%), refractive disorders (69.2%), and digital screens not parallel to the eye's horizontal (67%). The habitual pattern of using preclinical student devices, namely: doing >2 activities with digital devices a day (70.1%), using devices for more than 6 hours/day (60.7%), and using more than 2 digital devices a day (32,1%). Conclusion This study shows a higher prevalence of DES in women. A number of risk factors and usage patterns were found that could cause DES among pre-clinical students at the Faculty of Medicine, University of North Sumatra.137 HalamanSkripsi Sarjan
Hubungan Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) dengan Derajat Hipertensi pada Penderita Hipertensi di RS Prof. Chairuddin P. Lubis Medan
Background. Hypertension is a global health problem that attacks 1.28 billion
adults aged 30-79 years. Hypertension is a chronic disease characterized by an
increase in systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg and/or diastolic ≥ 90 mmHg.
Calculation of Body Mass Index (BMI) is a method for determining nutritional
status in adults. Every increased BMI will increase the risk of hypertension. An
increase in the BMI value is followed by an increase in blood pressure, which
increase the chance of developing hypertension as well as the degree of
hypertension. Aim. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between
BMI and the degree of hypertension in hypertensive sufferers at Prof. Chairuddin
P. Lubis Medan Hospital. Methods. This research uses a cross sectional design and
descriptive analytical methods. The sample for this study was 84 people obtained
from secondary data of medical records in Prof. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital
Medan and used simple random sampling techniques. The collected data was
analyzed by a statistical program using Fisher-Exact test with a significance level
of p < 0.05. Results. The Results of Fisher-Exact test is p= 0.02 (<0.05), which
means there is a relationship between BMI and the degree of hypertension.
Conclusion. There is a relationship between BMI and the degree of hypertension
in hypertensive sufferers at Prof. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital Medan.73 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
