On the island of Sumatra, several provinces have made palm oil a superior commodity, including Aceh Province. Therefore, many people in the Subulussalam region and various parties want to invest in the palm oil agribusiness sector, as a result, various unproductive lands have turned into palm oil lands. The function of the forest, which is the lungs of the earth, is disrupted due to the use of forest areas that are converted into economic land, which of course has a long-term effect on the destruction of the forest itself, which makes the condition of the forest soil will also deteriorate due to the use of fertiliser substances. This study aims to examine and analyse the problem with theoretical and practical approaches regarding the use of the Leuser Forest Area (KEL) as land for oil palm plantations. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive-analytical approach, data collection techniques are carried out by interview and documentation as well as literature review and regulations related to this research. The results showed that the process of forest encroachment that occurred in the Leuser forest area in Subulussalam City was an illegal activity, because the community cleared oil palm land without going through licensing procedures. Currently, there are approximately 20,000 hectares of illegal oil palm land cleared by residents that have been disciplined. The review of the concept of milk al-daulah on the issue of new palm oil land clearing by the community in the Leuser Forest Area (KEL) is contrary to the concept of milk al-daulah

This study focuses on analyzing the profit-sharing system of the Remaining Operating Results (SHU) at the Solusi Bersama Lamlhom Sharia Cooperative (Kopsyah SBL), located in Lhoknga District, Aceh Besar, from the perspective of the syirkah contract. It employs a qualitative research method with a juridical-empirical approach. Primary data were obtained through structured interviews and observation, while secondary data were sourced from SHU accountability reports and relevant articles. The findings reveal that SHU distribution at Kopsyah SBL is carried out by allocating annual packages to all active members, without differentiating based on capital contribution, business services, or financing amounts. All members collectively benefit from the cooperative’s business outcomes. According to the syirkah contract, SHU is not part of the syirkah formulation, as it does not represent profits agreed upon at the outset of the contract between Kopsyah SBL and members utilizing syirkah-based services. However, the SHU distribution system at Kopsyah SBL aligns with a tabarru’ (social) contract, which conforms to sharia principles such as justice, transparency, and mutual agreement. Thus, the SHU distribution system at Kopsyah SBL is in accordance with Islamic legal principles

The agricultural sector plays a vital role in supporting the community, not only as a source of income but also as a central pillar of national food security. In Indonesia, particularly in Gampong Lhok Dalam, Peureulak Timur Subdistrict, East Aceh Regency, the profit-sharing cooperation pattern between landowners and farmers has long been a traditional practice. This study aims to examine the rice farming profit-sharing system in the village from the perspective of muzara’ah contracts and Islamic economic law. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews with landowners and farmers, accompanied by a review of relevant literature. Findings in the field indicate that profit-sharing cooperation is still conducted verbally, without a written agreement. The pattern of profit sharing also varies—generally 1:2 or 1:3—depending on the agreement and each party’s contributions. In many cases, the cultivators bear all production costs, such as seeds, fertilisers, and labour, but receive a smaller share of the profits than the landowners. This condition indicates an imbalance that does not reflect the principle of fairness in muzara‘ah contracts. This study also found a lack of transparency in the crop yield recording process, which often leads to disputes between the cooperating parties. From the perspective of Islamic economic law, this practice is not fully compliant with sharia provisions because it still contains elements of gharar (uncertainty) and the potential for actions that are detrimental to one party (zulm). Therefore, it is necessary to understand and apply the muzara’ah contract more formally through clear, written, and transparent agreements so that the division of rights and obligations can be carried out fairly in accordance with sharia principles. The results of this study are expected to form the basis for developing a sharia-based agricultural cooperation model that can improve farmers’ welfare and sustainably strengthen the village economy

ABSTRACThe potential of waqf in Indonesia is immense, yet its realization remains far from optimal. This study discusses the optimization of waqf innovation in the digital era to support sustainable development in Indonesia. Through a qualitative approach and literature review, this research examines the challenges in optimizing waqf innovation in the digital era, the development of waqf innovation, and what can be done to enhance its optimization. The findings reveal several challenges, such as low digital literacy, limited public trust, and the lack of regulations supporting digital waqf innovation. The study also explores digitalization opportunities, including the use of technologies such as crowdfunding, blockchain, and smart waqf applications, which can improve efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in waqf management. With collaboration among the government, waqf institutions, the private sector, academics, and society, these innovations are expected to maximize the socio-economic impact of waqf for sustainable development. The research provides strategic insights into leveraging digital technology to optimize waqf potential in Indonesia

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
