Labuang merupakan salah satu Kabupaten andalan Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan di
bidang perikanan khususnya alat tangkap purse seine jumlah armada kapal purse
seine di Pinrang mencapai 143 unit (Statistik Dinas Kelautan dan Perikanan
Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan 2014). Akan tetapi kapal purse seine di Pinrang
didominasi oleh kapal-kapal dengan LOA 20 dan 24 m. Umumnya nelayan
setempat menggunakan kapal dengan bentuk yang sama dan berbahan dasar kayu.
Kapal di Pinrang walaupun berbeda dimensi kapal, jumlah ABK, dimensi alat
penangkap ikan, akan tetapi mesin dan daerah penangkapan sama. Berdasarkan
hasil pra survei di semua kapal purse seine yang berbeda dimensi itu memiliki hasil
tangkapan yang relatife sama. Perbedaan dimensi kapal ini didasari oleh
pengetahuan nelayan dalam pembuatan kapal yang masih turun-temurun dan
tradisional. Menurut nelayan setempat ukuran kapal dapat mempengaruhi
banyaknya hasil tangkapan, dan meningkatkan stabilitas kapal saat menghadapi
gelombang di laut.
Kapal merupakan moda utama yang digunakan nelayan untuk mengantar ke
daerah penangkapan ikan, namun kapal haruslah disesuaikan dengan alat tangkap
yang dibawanya serta lokasi daerah penangkapannya. Keberhasilan kapal
penangkap ikan adalah apabila memenuhi 3 (tiga) faktor yaitu laik operasi, laik
laut, laik simpan. Laik laut sangat berpengaruh terhadap performa kapal di laut
seperti kestabilan dari kapal tersebut, laik operasi berpengaruh pada kesuaian alat
tangkap yang dibawanya dan yang akan dioperasikan, dan pada laik simpan
mempengaruhi terhadap faktor produksi ikan tersebut. Berdasarkan pemaparan di
atas, maka perlu dilakukan kajian untuk mengetahui dimensi kapal yang optimal
dilihat dari aspek teknis dan ekonomis untuk mengoprasikan purse seine di
Kabupaten Pinrang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) mengidentifikasi unit
penangkap purse seine di Kabupaten Pinrang, (2) menentukan kualitas stabilitas
dari tiap dimensi kapal purse seine yang dibuat di Pinrang, (3) merumuskan dimensi
kapal yang efektif dan efisien berdasarkan hasil kajian teknis dan ekonomis.
Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan studi kasus pada 2 jenis
kapal yang memiliki LOA (Length Over All) berbeda. Data yang diperoleh
dianalisis dengan simulasi numerik, penghitungan keragaan teknis, stabilitas statis
dan faktor ekonomi kapal.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kapal di Pinrang memiliki model
kasko yang berbentuk round bottom dan body ramping serta nilai rasio dimensi
kapal berada pada rentang nilai kapal kelompok encircling di Indonesia kecuali
pada L/D kapal PS2. Nilai stabilitas dari 4 kondisi muatan kapal dengan kretiria
IMO, menunjukkan bahwa pada kondisi 1,2, dan 4 memiliki stabilitas yang baik.
Namun pada kondisi 3 kedua jenis kapal berada dibawah kreteria IMO. Kajian
teknis dari kedua kapal menghasilkan bahwa kapal PS1 lebih baik dari PS2. Hasil
kajian ekonomi didapatkan dari biaya pembuatan kapal dan operasional, bahwa
kapal PS2 memiliki investasi yang lebih besar dari PS1 akan tetapi pemasukan
dari kedua kapal lebih baik PS1 dikarenakan biaya investasi yang tidak terlalu
tinggi dan income yang didapatkan sudah menguntungkan. Hasil kajian ini
menunjukkan bahwa kapal yang efektif dan efisien yang digunakan di Kabupaten
Pinrang adalah kapal berukuran LOA 20 m B 4 m, dan D 1,30 m
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
