Online interaction dynamic in validating the identity of being a K-Pop fan through merchandise / Nur Maizatul Balqis Mohamad Mustaza
This study attempted to identify the value, meaning and symbols of the official K-Pop products and merchandise towards the fans in terms of sense of identity and belonging. Merchandise is widely used in the world of K-Pop among K-Pop fans particularly. However, very few people have discussed how merchandise might serve as items that reveal the identities of K-Pop fans and how it might inspire a sense of devotion from K-Pop fans to their favorite idols. For this reason, the author used the dynamics of online fans interaction on Twitter, which most K-Pop fans use frequently to engage with one another and stay up to date on the activities of their idols, to find evidence of how the merchandise affects K-Pop fans' identities. This thesis first verified each participant's identity on Twitter to ensure that they are authentic K-Pop fans. Subsequently, data on conversations and discussions among K-Pop fans regarding merchandise are gathered based on specific keywords related to the study and presented. The analysis of every K-Pop fan's Twitter conversation ultimately result in the discovery of data that supported all previous studies and provided answers to the research's open-ended questions. The experiment's findings demonstrated that K-Pop fans have certain characteristics that influence how they use merchandise to affirm their identity and justify their collecting of K-Pop merchandise. The thesis asserted that those characteristics reinforced a sense of identity and belonging, which would increase K-Pop fans' devotion to their idols through merchandise
Community-based adaptation to flood: a systematic literature review / Musa Mustapha Danraka, Sapura Mohamad and Siti Nur Hannah Ismail
Communities have developed established knowledge and techniques to foresee, diminish the impacts of, react to, and restore from floods and comparable risks due to their intimate connections to their ecological environment. These are generally recognized as Community-based Adaptation (CBA) responses collectively. The motivation behind embarking on this systematic review stems from the fact that scholars and policymakers come across conflicting information in this field, making it challenging to handle. This review aims to comprehend the present state of knowledge on CBA to flood. The practices encompassing community-based approaches to flood management, the historical examination of these practices, and the current understanding of their alignment with flood adaptation have all been delineated via a comprehensive analysis of relevant scholarly works. This thorough investigation yielded a corpus of 25 articles written exclusively in the English language, which were subjected to both qualitative and quantitative scrutiny. The study discovered a wide range of community mobilisation strategies, with the majority of research on these focused on developed nations, ranging from early warning systems and hazard forecasts to livelihood-based adaptation. This systematic review assists in identifying new and significant study fields, the evolution of publications through time, patterns of author collaboration, and future research directions. The study identified the author with the most publications and citations, the journal with the most publications, and the most common words from the content analysis. This study provides a general overview of the topic for academics interested in CBA solutions and paves the path for additional study in this area. Thus, government programmes for general recovery following a flood can be put into action more swiftly

Sex change operation: different perspectives and challenges in Malaysia / Mohamad Zaki Azmi, Mohd Effendy Rosley and Nur Hasnifarina Ahmad Fauzi
The issue of legalizing sex change operation is not new in our country. Such operation was allowed until the National Fatwa Council (NFC) declared a fatwa on 1983 prohibiting Muslims from undergoing sex change operation. However, hermaphrodites
are excluded from this prohibition. By conducting this research, we aim to allow sex change operation not only for hermaphrodites but also to those who are suffering from
Gender Identity Disorder (GID) or Gender Dysphoria (GD). Both are acknowledged as psychological disorders, which lead to transsexualism. We referred to several statutes, decided cases, the Holy Quran, Hadiths and also books as our primary sources. Other
sources include law journals, medical journals, newspaper articles, online databases and also Internet sources. We also conducted several interviews with an academician, a book author and also a transsexual in order to get different opinions on the issue of sex change operation. We hope that this research will provide a better understanding on the issue of transsexualism in Malaysia. Since transsexuals in Malaysia are not allowed to be who they want to be, they are invariably involved in various social problems. Hopefully, this research will open the eyes of the government and also the society on the importance of addressing this issue. Hopefully they will realize that transsexuals are normal human beings who deserve to be respected

Inhibition of aspergillus niger by application of punica granatum peels and cucurbita maxima seeds as bio-fungicide / Sarina Mohamad … [et al.]
Infection on plant caused by Aspergillus niger leads to the destruction of quantity and quality of crop yields. Normally, this disease is solved by the chemical fungicides. Therefore, this study was carried out to seek a potential natural fungicide from fruit waste which is safer and economical to inhibit Aspergillus niger. Cucurbita maxima (pumpkin) seeds and Punica granatum (pomegaranate) peels were extracted using maceration method with 80 % ethanol. Brine Shrimp Lethality Assay (BLSA) was used to test the presence of bioactive components in the extracts at concentration of 10 µg/mL, 100 µg/mL and 1000 µg/mL and they are expressed in terms of LC50 (Median Lethal Concentration) respectively. The study revealed that Cucurbita maxima extract was inactive, while Punica granatum extract and the mixture of both extracts at ratio 1:1 were active at 1000 µg/mL. Furthermore, the antifungal activity of Cucurbita maxima extract, Punica granatum extract, and mixture of both extracts were further tested using well-diffusion method against A. niger at 25 mg/mL, 50 mg/mL, 75 mg/mL and 100 mg/mL respectively. The findings revealed the mixture of both extracts were exerted effectively against A. niger at the lowest concentration with 20.67±2.52 mm and this gave significant zone of inhibition. The result of the study indicates that the mixture extraction of pomegranate peels and pumpkin seeds at 25 mg/mL has a great potential to be formulated as commercial bio-fungicide
