Azimi2025_JBPS_WeatherData
The data in this study is part of a larger data, which was generated for PHD dissertation of Mitra Azimi. The data includes meteorological data, and statistical analysis of AMY files from 1970 to 2021, four TMY files including TMY3, TMYx(1970-2021), TMYx(2004-2018), TMYx(2007-2021), and FMY files generated by WeatherShiftTM
Universal Statistical Properties of Inertial-particle Trajectories in Three-dimensional, Homogeneous, Isotropic, Fluid Turbulence
We obtain new universal statistical properties of heavy-particle trajectories in three-dimensional, statistically steady, homogeneous, and isotropic turbulent flows by direct numerical simulations. We show that the probability distribution functions (PDFs) P(Φ), of the angle Φ between the Eulerian velocity u and the particle velocity v, at a point and time, scales as P(Φ) ∼Φ−, with a new universal exponent ≃ 4
Analisis Perencanaan dan Pengendalian Biaya Operasional pada Honda Mitra Mojokerto
The aim of this research is to analyze how planning and control is carried out by Honda Mitra Mojokerto and to measure the effectiveness of Honda Mitra Mojokerto, as well as to understand internal control at Honda Mitra Mojokerto. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach. The location used in this research was the Honda Mitra Mojokerto car dealer located on Jl. Raya By Pass Mojokerto km. 50, city. Mojokerto, East Java. The data sources used in this research are primary and secondary. The results of this research show that in January - June the budget realization was IDR 202,470,240, this value was 63.76% smaller than the budgeted costs, namely IDR 317,542,000. This shows a positive (profitable) deviation. Meanwhile, for internal control, the author found that there were duplicate job desks in HRGA
Analisis Penerapan Akuntansi Pada PT. Mitra Mandiri Darma Lestari Pekanbaru
The purpose of this study is to determine the application of accounting carried out by PT. Mitra Mandiri Darma Lestari with generally accepted accounting principles. The research design used by the author is quantitative where the process of finding knowledge is based on numerical data. There are two sources of data in this study, namely Primary Data, namely data obtained directly from respondents such as conducting interviews. Secondary data is data obtained directly from PT. Mitra Mandiri Darma Lestari related to this research. The research results from PT. Mitra Mandiri Darma Lestari in the preparation of financial statements, namely not making journals, ledgers, trial balances, reports of changes in equity, and notes to financial statements. From the results of the study, the authors can conclude that the application of accounting by PT. Mitra Mandiri Darma Lestari is not in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
Durba Mitra. Indian Sex Life: Sexuality and the Colonial Origins of Modern Social Thought
In Indian Sex Life, the Harvard University professor of Women, Gender and Sexuality, Durba Mitra, seeks to explore the presence of the prostitute in Indian imaginary as an epistemological concept that she believes to be the key to comprehending the consolidation of Indian social sciences. In fact, the author defines the presence of the prostitute as an official subterfuge that was used by the colonial government in order to control women’s desires and sexuality. Mitra opens her book by stati..
The combined incidence of taxes and public expenditures in the Philippines
Incidence studies of fiscal policy in developing countries typically examine either the distribution of tax burdens or the incidence of public expenditures. But the central issue for policymakers is the combined or net incidence of fiscal activities. One reason that combined incidence studies are so rare is that they require detailed data on both taxation and public spending. The authors show that the net incidence of fiscal policy in a country with average data - the Philippines - can be estimated using a variety of data sources and tools, using simplifying assumptions. For 20 years, the Philippine economy has experienced a series of balance of payments crises triggered by fiscal crises. It has had an unsatisfactory record of poverty alleviation. The authors examine net fiscal incidence to find out how poverty will be affected by the rise in taxes and the cut in spending. They found that: 1) the incidence pattern of taxes is basically neutral. Contrary to expectations, indirect taxes are only slightly regressive; and 2) it is the pattern of expenditures that drives the combined incidence, which is progressive.Public Sector Economics&Finance,Environmental Economics&Policies,Health Systems Development&Reform,Economic Theory&Research,Health Economics&Finance,Environmental Economics&Policies,Public Sector Economics&Finance,Economic Theory&Research,Health Economics&Finance,Banks&Banking Reform
Towards a relevant legal aid logic and strategy in India
The author explores a system of legal aid that will work towards alleviating the inaccessibility of the legal system that has pervaded India since its colonial past. This inaccessibility in terms of jargon and process is further exacerbated by the dialectic system of justice. In exploring the triangulation of justice through trigonometric analysis, Mitra underscores that the dialectic process is a clear interaction of systemic need, further highlighting the need for a legal aid strategy. The arguments for legal aid can be based on welfare under Article 39A of the Constitution, on due process under Articles 21 and 22 of the Constitution, and thirdly, as the author argues as a dialectic systemic need. To work towards this systemic rationale for legal aid the author argues the need for a legal literacy programme shall try to make two sections of the people nearer so that conflict-management can be easier. Shear Thickening in Non-Brownian Suspensions: An Excluded Volume Effect
Shear thickening appears as an increase of the viscosity of a dense suspension with the shear rate, sometimes sudden and violent at high volume fraction. Its origin for noncolloidal suspension with non-negligible inertial effects is still debated. Here we consider a simple shear flow and demonstrate that fluid inertia causes a strong microstructure anisotropy that results in the formation of a shadow region with no relative flux of particles. We show that shear thickening at finite inertia can be explained as an increase of the effective volume fraction when considering the dynamically excluded volume due to these shadow regions.Process and EnergyMechanical, Maritime and Materials Engineerin
