Summary.
The objective. 1. To analyze both domestic and foreign articles published and study the posibbilities to use mifepristone as a blocker of progesterone receptors in a daily gynecological and obstetrical practice. 2. To elect optimal doses of mifepristone used to the treatment of different gynecological states. Materials and Methods. Literary sources for 1992-2018 concerning preventive and therapeutic use of mifepristone. Results. Mifepristone is a progesterone receptor antagonist that has also antagonistic properties to glycocorticoids, mineralocorticoids and androgen receptors. Single use of mifepristone in dose 600 mg combined with low doses of prostaglandins is an effective medical abortion remedy in I and II trimesters of pregnancy. In the III trimester it can be used once or twice with interval of 24 hours to stimulate contractions of uterus and start the process of childbirth. As an emergency contraceptive agent mifepristone can be used in a dose 10 mg. 3-6 months of 50 mg/day. It can reduce the size of leiomyoma by 50-74%. To treat endometriosis and breast neoplasies miferinone can also be used in combined schemes. However, doses are not defined and vary from 2.5 to 200 mg/day. Amenorrhea is the most common side effect of mifepristone use that appears in nearly 100% of cases independently of applied doses. Conclusions. Mifepristone is an effective anti- gestagene medication that can be used for acute contraception, artificial termination of pregnancy in I and II trimesters, stimulation of childbirth in III trimester, treatment of leiomyoma, endometriosis and breast neoplasy in doses that vary from 5 to 600 mg according to the objectives.

Variations on the Author
No full text“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

No full textWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

The paper explains the need for providing auxiliary services for science in university library within modern scientific communication and covers main facets of library work in Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University (KSPU), emphasizing instructional services for science metrics. Methods. Research was conducted using synthesis, structural and functional analysis, systematic approach, survey, interview, and conversation. Results. Successful reimagining of library’s functions is the key to university’s success within modern science communication. Expanding basic library competencies makes university library a reliable foundation for research activities in higher education institution. Conclusions. The experience of auxiliary services for scientists in university library today possesses new meanings, leading to expansion of the range of information services provided by university librarians. University’s science metrics is one of the determining indicators of authority of its researches; and today it is the library that serves as the foundation for implementing and utilizing science metrics data in university.UK: Мета. У роботі передбачено обґрунтувати необхідність науково-допоміжної діяльності бібліотеки закладу вищої освіти в сучасних умовах розвитку системи наукових комунікацій, а також висвітлити основні напрями роботи фахівців бібліотеки Криворізького державного педагогічного університету (КДПУ) під час надання консультаційних послуг науковцям із питань наукометрії. Методика. Під час дослідження було використано такий методологічний апарат, як комплекс методів синтезу, структурно-функціонального аналізу, системного підходу, опитування, інтерв’ю, бесіди. Результати. Успішна переорієнтація основних функцій бібліотеки закладу вищої освіти є запорукою ефективного функціонування університету в сучасній системі наукових комунікацій. Розширення та поглиблення базових компетенцій бібліотечних фахівців є необхідною умовою становлення університетської бібліотеки як надійної основи науково-дослідницької діяльності закладів вищої освіти. Висновки. Накопичення нового досвіду з науково-допоміжної діяльності бібліотеки ЗВО стало поштовхом для розширення спектру інформаційних сервісів, що входять до сфери компетенції бібліотечних фахівців. Наукометрична діяльність університету стала одним із визначальних показників авторитетності його наукової роботи. Second-harmonic spectroscopy of electronic structure of Si/SiO2 multiple quantum wells
No full textSize effects in the resonant nonlinear optical response of amorphous Si/SiO2 multiple quantum wells (MQW) -harmonic generation (SHG) spectroscopy are studied by second in a spectral interval of second-harmonic photon energies from 2.5 to 3.4 eV. The sensitivity of SHG spectroscopy to thickness-dependent electronic structure (sub-band energy position and (density of states line shape) of MQW is demonstrated. A monotonic red shift of central energies of SHG resonances by 120 meV upon increase of the well thickness from 2.5 to 10 A is observed. This is interpreted as a size dependence of the position of singularities in the combined density of states for a 2D gas of electrons moving in an effective potential well. It is shown that, for agreement with experiment, the simplest (rectangular) shape of the well should be modified in order to take into account the lattice-potential distortion at the interfaces

URL: https://doi.org/10.1007/s10958-022-05914-9(ua) We study the process of propagation of weakly nonlinear wave packets on the contact surfaces of a “half space–layer–layer with rigid lid” hydrodynamic system by the method of multiscale expansions. The solutions of the weakly nonlinear problem are obtained in the second approximation. The condition of solvability of this problem is established. For each frequency of the wave packet, we construct the domains of sign constancy for the coefficient for the second harmonic on the bottom and top contact surfaces. The regularities of wave formation are determined depending on the geometric and physical parameters of the hydrodynamic system. We also analyze the plots of the shapes of deviations of the bottom and top contact surfaces typical of the constructed domains of sign-constancy of the coefficient. We discover the domains where the waves become ∪ - and ∩ -shaped and reveal a significant influence of wavelength on the shapes of deviations of the contact surfaces of the analyzed hydrodynamic system
