No full textOpinnäytetyö tutkii valokuvan, äänen ja tekstin keinoin 11 ruandalaisen pakolaisen suhdetta maisemaan sekä muistoa menetetystä kotimaasta pakolaisuuden viitekehyksessä. Kuvattuna ovat 11 ruandalaista heidän nykyisissä elinympäristöissään eri Euroopan maissa sekä heidän kuvailemansa muistojen maisema entisestä kotimaasta. Haastatteluista koostettu ääniraita valottaa päähenkilöiden pakolaisuuden kokemusta sekä Ruandan tämän hetkistä ihmisoikeustilannetta.
Opinnäytetyön teoriaosuus käsittelee kotimaan, maiseman ja identiteetin välisiä suhteita, taiteen keinoja välittää poliittisia sisältöjä sekä maiseman, henkilön ja muiston esittämistä valokuvassa. Tutkimuksesta käy ilmi synnyinseudun olemus maantieteellisen paikan ohessa mentaalisena kuvana. Tutkimuksen pääpainoksi moutoutuu valokuvan ja muiston subjektiivisuus sekä kysymys valokuvan kyvystä kuvata jotain näkymätöntä. Metodiltaan tutkimus on tekijälähtöinen ja poikkitieteellinen. Tutkimus rakentuu työskentelyprosessia mukaillen lähtien liikkeelle Ruandan poliittisesta tilanteesta, sekä tekijän tarpeesta kertoa siitä taiteen välityksellä. Seuraavat osiot avaavat työhön liittyvää käsitteistöä ja teoriaa, sekä niiden läsnä oloa työn konkreettisessa toteutuksessa.Thesis investigates, through the mixed media of photography, sound and text, the relationship eleven Rwandan refugees have with their surroundings and the memories of a homeland left behind, in a context of political displacement.This project presents eleven Rwandan refugees in their current environment in several different countries around Europe and the images they cherish from their former homeland. A soundtrack based on interviews conducted with the refugees, deals with the experience of political displacement and the current human rights situation in Rwanda.
The theoretical part of the the thesis deals with the connection between homeland, landscape and identity, art as a platform for conveying a political message and presenting a landscape, a person and a memory through the art of photography.The study attempts to grasp the essence of one ́s birthplace, not only as a geographical location but also as a collection of mental images.The main focus of the study is the subjectivity of photography and memory, considering the possibility of a photo acting as a medium to represent something invisible.Working methods of the study have been author-based and in interdisciplinary.The study is constructed around the work process, the political situation in Rwanda and the authors need to present it through art.The next two paragraphs make sense of the terminology and theory related to the work at hand, and their function in the concrete realization of the project
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Laitosasumisesta päämieheksi : Aikuisen kehitysvammaisen muuttaminen laitoksesta asumispalveluyksikköön
Get PDFOpinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli dokumentoida koettua tietoa asumisen muutoksista siirryttäessä laitosasumisesta yksilöllisempään asumiseen. Tutkimustehtävänäni oli tutkia aikuisten kehitysvammaisten ihmisten asumisen muutoksia laitosasumisesta asumispalveluyksikköön muuton jälkeen. Tavoitteenani oli selvittää mikä asumisessa on muut-tunut Ylisen hoiva- ja kuntoutuskeskuksesta muuton jälkeen KVPS Tukena Oy:n Vuoreksen asumispalveluyksikössä asukkaiden, työntekijöiden ja läheisten kokemana.
Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin yhteistyössä KVPS Tukena Oy:n Vuoreksen asumispalveluiden kanssa. Tutkimus on kvalitatiivinen eli laadullinen tutkimus, joka toteutui strukturoituna yksilöhaastatteluna. Laadullinen tutkimus palveli opinnäytetyötä parhaiten, kun tarkoituksena oli saada selville ihmisten kokemuksia ja ajatuksia. Opinnäytetyötä varten haastateltiin kolmea asumispalveluyksikössä työskentelevää ohjaajaa, kahta asukkaiden läheistä sekä yhtä asukasta.
Haastateltavat kokivat huomattavimpina muutoksina asumisen suhteen asumisyksikön sijainnin sekä palveluiden käytön muuttumisen. Metsästä on muutettu hienostoalueelle ja nyt tarpeelliset palvelut saadaan sieltä, mistä muutkin ihmiset ne saavat. Haastateltavat vastasivat kysymyksiin melko yhdenmukaisesti, mutta vastauksissa oli myös pieniä eroja. Näkemyksien erilaisuus johtui siitä, että ohjaajat miettivät muutoksia sekä oman työnsä kannalta että asukkaan kannalta. Läheisten vastauksissa ei ollut työnäkökulmaa. Päämiehen kokemusmaailmassa merkittävä asia oli ympäristöön ilmestyneet koirat.
Laitosasumisen purkaminen on lopuillaan ja erilaiset kehitysvammaisten itsemääräämiseen, asumiseen ja elämiseen liittyvät hallinto-ohjelmat ovat osin kesken. Tavoitteena on saada purettua laitosasuminen kokonaan vuoteen 2020 mennessä. Tarkoituksena on myös parantaa kehitysvammaisten osallisuutta ja itsemääräämistä sekä vähentää rajoitustoimenpiteiden käyttöä. Nämä tulevat näkymään lakimuutoksina. Kehitysvammaisten ihmisten oikeuksia ajetaan yhteiskunnassa yhä enemmän. Toivottavasti tulevaisuudessa ei puhuttaisi enää erityisesti ”kehitysvammaisten oikeuksista ja itsemääräämisestä”, vaan ne olisivat samat kuin kenellä tahansa ihmisellä.The purpose of this thesis was to document experienced information about the changes in the living environment of the people with intellectual disabilities. The objective of the thesis was to clarify what has changed in the living after the institutional care. The idea for the thesis was created in the practical training in KVPS Tukena Ltd Vuores housing services.
The study was carried out in co-operation with Vuores housing services. The thesis was a qualitative study. The data were collected using structured individual interviews. The data were gathered by interviewing six persons: three employees, two next of kin and one resident. The data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis.
The interviewees experienced the location of the living and changes in the use of services as the most considerable changes. All the interviewees were fairly unanimous in regard to the answers. The most significant change for the resident was dogs which had appeared in the neighborhood.
In the future the objective of Finland will be changing all institution living into housing services by the year 2020. The purpose is also to improve the mentally disabled’s inclusion and autonomy
Tiimityötä tukevien menetelmien kehittäminen TUVA-koulutuksessa : "Perjantaipajat"- toimintamallin luominen
Get PDFTämän opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli kehittää ja lisätä tutkintokoulutukseen valmentavan (TUVA) koulutuksen tiimien välistä yhteistoimintaa ja yhteisöllisyyttä Kiipulan ammattiopiston Tampereen toimipisteessä. Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin tiimin jäsenten kokemuksia tiimien välisen yhteistyön nykytilasta sekä luotiin perjantaipajat- toimintamalli yhteistyössä tiimin jäsenten kanssa.
Opinnäytetyö sai alkunsa tarpeesta vahvistaa TUVA-tiimien välistä yhteistyötä. Arjessa tiimien työskentely keskittyy omiin opiskelijaryhmiin ja yhteistyö tiimien välillä on satunnaista, erityisesti yhteisen suunnitteluajan rajallisuuden vuoksi. Aiemmin kokeiltu pajatyöskentely nähtiin toimivana ja yhteisöllisyyttä tukevana, mutta sen jatkaminen jäi ajanpuutteen vuoksi. Tämän pohjalta ryhdyimme kehittämään pysyvää toimintamallia yhteistyölle.
Tutkimusmenetelmänä käytettiin toimintatutkimusta, jossa tutkija osallistuu aktiivisesti kehittämisprosessiin. Aineistoa kerättiin Learning cafe- menetelmällä, kyselylomakkeilla, osallistuvalla havainnoinnilla sekä yhteisellä loppukeskustelulla. Analysointiin käytettiin laadullista sisällönanalyysiä.
Perjantaipajat koettiin pääosin toimivaksi tavaksi lisätä yhteistoimintaa, erityisesti yhdessä tekemisen, säännönmukaisuuden ja kaikkien tiimien osallistumisen kautta. Yhteisöllisyyden koettiin vahvistuneen yhdessä tekemisen, onnistumisten, säännönmukaisuuden ja sovittujen ajankohtien myötä. Pajojen yhteistoimintaa haastaneiksi tekijöiksi nousivat erityisesti ajanpuute, esimerkiksi siinä, ettei pajojen jälkeiselle reflektoinnille ollut aikaa, selkeän työnjaon puuttuminen sekä erilaiset näkemykset toteutuksesta.
Tutkimuksen perusteella voidaan todeta, että perjantaipajat-toimintamalli loi hyvät edellytykset tiimien yhteistoiminnan ja yhteisöllisyyden vahvistamiselle. Todetuksi tuli myös, että jatkossa pajoja olisi hyvä järjestää vähän harvemmin ja työnjaon suunnittelulle sekä pajojen purkamiselle täytyy varata riittävästi aikaa.The aim of this thesis was to develop and enhance collaboration and sense of community between the teams of preparatory education for upper secondary qualifications (TUVA) at the Kiipula Vocational College’s Tampere campus. The study examined team members’ experiences of the current state of interteam cooperation and created the Friday Workshop model in collaboration with the teams.
The thesis originated from a recognized need to strengthen collaboration between TUVA teams. In daily operations, teams tend to focus on their own student groups, and collaboration across teams is limited, particularly due to a lack of shared planning time. A previously piloted workshop model was seen as effective and community-building, but it had been discontinued due to time constraints. This led to the development of a more permanent model for collaboration.
The study employed action research, where the researcher actively participates in the development process. Data were collected using the Learning Café method, surveys, participatory observation, and a final group discussion. The material was analyzed using qualitative content analysis.
The Friday Workshops were generally perceived as a functional method for increasing collaboration, particularly through shared activities, regular scheduling, and the participation of all teams. A sense of community was reported to have strengthened through working together, shared successes, consistency, and agreed meeting times. Challenges in the implementation included a lack of time—particularly for post-workshop reflection—as well as unclear task distribution and differing views on execution.
Based on the findings, the Friday Workshop model created a strong foundation for improving collaboration and community between teams. It was also concluded that in the future, workshops should be held slightly less frequently and more time should be reserved for planning roles and reflecting on outcomes
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
