Influencing Factors on Intention And Adoption of KBZ Credit Card (Aung Pyae Sone,2023)
Get PDFThe study aims to identify the influencing factors on the intention and adoption of KBZ credit card usage among customers. The study used both descriptive and quantitative research methods. Primary data as well as secondary data are used in this study. A sample of 300 active KBZ credit cardholders were selected by using simple random sampling method. They were interviewed with structured questionnaire. This study explored the five factors which are perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, knowledge on credit card, facilitating conditions, and perceived trust on payment requirements. According to the regression analysis, the results revealed that three factors which were perceived usefulness, facilitating conditions of credit cards, and perceived trust in payment requirements had significantly influence on users' intention to use KBZ credit cards. Moreover, the intention to use KBZ credit card also had a significant influence on adoption of KBZ credit card. KBZ Bank should address the accessibility issues that customers perceive with respect to credit card adoption including offering of user-friendly educational resources and features to help new users better understand credit card usage and management. Moreover, providing education on the advantages of using KBZ credit cards over social or cultural pressures to use them could help to increase customer adoption

Defining the optimal management of Plasmodium falciparum malaria on a background of emerging artemisinin combination therapy resistance
Get PDFDrug resistant falciparum malaria has emerged twice from the Thai-Cambodian border and spread to the rest of the globe with disastrous consequences. The deployment of artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT) as first-line treatment for P. falciparum malaria has reduced the burden of malaria dramatically worldwide and reignited the interest in the goal of malaria elimination. However, slow-clearing parasites resistant to artemisinin are emerging across the Greater Mekong Sub-region eventually leading to the failure of the ACTs.
One objective of this thesis was to determine the association between therapeutic efficacy of one of the first line ACTs (mefloquine-artesunate) and the drug-resistant molecular markers for the constituent drugs (Pfmdr-1 and K-13 mutations). Between 2003 and 2013, the adequate clinical and parasitological response to mefloquine-artesunate declined from 100% to 81.1% as the proportions of isolates with multiple Pfmdr-1 copies doubled from 32.4% to 64.7% and those with K-13 mutations increased from 6.7% to 83.4%. Detailed investigations of the various K-13 polymorphisms revealed that along the ThailandâMyanmar border, the fittest alleles (C580Y) are taking over from less resistant or less fit ones.
The second objective of this thesis was to evaluate new antimalarials (OZ439, a synthetic peroxide structurally related to artemisinin; KAE609, a spironindolone; and KAF156, an imidazolopiperazine, both are structurally novel molecules) in Phase 2a proof-of-concept studies. Parasitological efficacy was evaluated by measuring parasite clearance half-life. In all trialled doses of OZ439, KAE609 and KAF156 parasite clearance half-lives were not different in patients with artemisinin-sensitive and artemisinin-resistant parasites. No serious drug-related adverse effects were reported and these compounds will move into Phase 2b studies in late 2016.</p
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

No full textWorldwide the population is ageing and the elderly today are socially isolated. Social participation in social activities and social engagement with friends play vital role in a person's old life to promote their social lifestyle and well-being. However, the elderly today are getting socially isolated and as a result, they suffer from physical and mental illness (e.g. loneliness). This study is about using technologies to encourage social activities of the elderly and positive living. We propose the design of a digital social activity space for the elderly. Using focus group study, we conducted a study to collect inputs with six elderly users and administrators. The main objective of digital social activity space was to fmd out whether a digital social activity game could impact on the affective responses of the elderly people. The ideas about Interactive Digital Social Activity Space (IDSAS) were explored with the elderly and the social activity games were designed and developed based on the findings from the focus group study with the elderly participants and the administrator of senior center. Initial evaluation of the prototype with 17 elderly participants was conducted at the TOUCH Senior Activity Center in Singapore. Findings show that IDSAS brought about positive emotional responses of the elderly and the elderly participants enjoyed playing with IDSAS prototype. The statistics showed that the affective responses of the elderly participants were slightly higher after they had played the social activity games. Moreover, the elderly participants mentioned in the general interview session that they would like to play digital social activity games in the future and they would like to play more interactive social games for them. This study suggests that the digital social activity games could positively affect on the elderly users and the game designers should create more interactive social games for the elderly to promote their social lifestyles.Master of Science (Information Studies

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
