Growth is one of the most important economic trait in poultry production. Thus, to obtain genetically superior animals related to growth traits is one of the most important issues of poultry breeding programs. Japanese quail is one of the most productive animals in poultry species. Although Japanese quail is small body size, It has high meat and egg production yield. Japanese quail has also important breeding advantages such as short time generation interval, capacity to have a great number of birds per unit area, great reproductive performance, high resistance to diseases and low breeding cost. Sema Erdemoğlu, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Arts, İnönü University, 44280 Malatya, Turkey.In this study, a new approach was developed to prepare mesoporous hybrid TiO2/Co3O4 coated on Juglans sporopollenin exine microcapsules (SECs). TiO2 was synthesized on Co3O4-coated SECs used as substrate, by sol–gel method. The obtained semiconductor/semiconductor hetero-junction hybrid materials were characterized with X-ray diffractometry (XRD), UV–Vis absorption spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), particle size distribution, specific surface area, and zeta potential measurements. Photocatalytic performances of hybrid materials were tested for Reactive Black 5 dye under both UV and visible light. Equilibrium pH of the solution containing 10 mg/L Reactive Black 5 dye and 0.1% wt/v TiO2/Co3O4 was around 4.7. After irradiation in the solar box, more than 98% of the Reactive Black 5 was photocatalytically degraded within 60 min

Böylece etik moda 'Yavaş Moda Akımı' gibi yaratıcı söylemler geliştirmiş ve yerel zanaatları, adil ticareti, çok işlevli tasarım ürünlerini, katılımcı tasarımı, çevre dostu malzemelerin kullanımını ve geri dönüşümle değer kazandırılan tasarımları yücelten bir yapıya kavuşmuştur. Ancak küresel moda ekonomisi tarafından ticarileştirilerek asimile de olmuştur. Etik moda, başat sistem içerisinde tüketilebilen bir trende dönüştürülürken, sanal ortamda varlık gösteren niş bir medya ile beslenen alternatif bir tasarım hareketi olarak sınırlı kalmıştır. Bu makalede, etik modanın tasarım ve üretim stratejileri bağlamında söylemsel ve ticari temsiliyeti ele alınarak ana akım ve alternatif medyada yer alan haberlerin geriye dönük okuması yapılmıştır. Böylece etik modanın vaat ettiği 'etik olma' sözü, medya analizi üzerinden deşifre edilmiştir.Realization of devastating effects of fast fashion production and consumption strategies led embracement of an ethical and ecological design understanding that ensures redefinition of fashion. Thus, ethical fashion developed creative discourses such as 'Slow Fashion Movement' and gained a structure that praises local crafts, fair trade, multifunctional design products, participatory design, use of environmentally friendly materials and upcycled designs. However, it has also been assimilated via commercialization by the global fashion economy. While ethical fashion is transformed into a trend which can be consumed within the frame of dominant fashion system, it remained limited as an alternative design movement that is supported by the niche media which is transmitted through digital domain. Within this paper, in regards to design and production strategies of ethical fashion, discursive and commercial representations of it are analyzed by backcasting the literal and visual representations of ethical fashion in conventional and alternative media.     Is Foreign-Owned Capital a Bad Thing to Tax?

    The aging population has raised at least two concerns about tax policy. First, taxes will need to be increased to cover higher public-pension and medical-care expenses when baby boomers have retired. Second, taxes can be cut in the meantime, as the government realizes the "fiscal dividend" that accompanies its debt reduction program (that has been motivated by the aging population development). This paper uses a simple endogenous growth analysis to examine these issues. It is assumed that sales tax increases are infeasible on political grounds. Two conclusions emerge: the income tax rate levied on domestic residents should be cut during the debt-reduction period, and the tax rate on foreigners whose capital is operating in Canada should be increased later on when the bulk of the baby boomers have retired.fiscal policy, endogenous growth, open economy

    Understanding the Outcomes of Older Job Losers

    We use an unusually rich Canadian survey to examine how post-job-loss behaviour and outcomes vary with age of the job loser. We find that older job losers experience greater post-displacement joblessness, and are less likely to return quickly to satisfactory employment. We show that this apparent age effect is not a job tenure effect or wealth effect. We also find that older job losers, compared to mid-career job losers, are as likely to report searching for work, but that they search less intensely (reporting fewer hours of search, and lower out of pocket expenditures on search). They are also less likely to retrain, less likely to undertake a geographic move, and less likely to switch occupations. Thus, the data suggest older job losers are less likely to make career investments after job loss. This may be a rational response to a shorter time horizon, or to more limited labour market opportunities.job loss, job search, older workers

    How should we support pharmaceutical innovation?

    The question as to how society should support pharmaceutical (‘pharma’) innovation is both pertinent and timely: Pharma drugs are an integral component of modern health care and hold the promise to treat more effectively various debilitating health problems. The rate of pharma innovation, however, has declined since the 1980s. Many observers question whether the patent system is capable of providing the appropriate incentives for pharma innovation and point to several promising alternative mechanisms. These mechanisms include both ‘push’ programs – subsidies directed towards the cost of pharma R&D – and ‘pull’ programs – lumpsum rewards for the outputs of pharma R&D, that is, new drugs. I review evidence why our current system of pharma patents is defective and outline the various alternative mechanisms that may spur pharma innovation more effectively.Pharmaceuticals, R&D, patents, prizes, innovation
