La Poetica della traduzione di Machado de Assis in italiano: o Anjo Rafael

It aims to verify how and in what way the Brazilian author is positioned in Italian literary culture, and based on this it moves on to describe the importance of translational and critical activities in the reception of a writer from a peripheral literary system by another literary system. Peeter Torop#s concept of total translation is the main theoretical reference adopted for the individuation of the translational strategies for Machado de Assis# works in general, based on the stylistic description of his criticism, and of O Anjo Rafael [The Angel Raphael] in particular. This little known short story by Machado de Assis is presented, analysed and translated for the first time into Italian. In conclusion observations and commentaries on the translational process will show the poetics of translation adopted in this particular translation of Machado de Assis short story.Esta tese parte de um trabalho de pesquisa sobre as traduções de Machado de Assis publicadas na Itália para verificar em que medida e com quais características o autor brasileiro esteja inserido na cultura literária italiana, e da qual se parte para delinear a importância das atividades tradutória e crítica na recepção de um escritor pertencente a um sistema literário periférico em outro sistema literário. O conceito de tradução total de Peeter Torop é a principal referência teórica adotada para a individuação das estratégias tradutórias da obra em geral de Machado de Assis, com base na descrição estilística de seus críticos, e de O Anjo Rafael especialmente. Trata-se de um conto pouco conhecido de Machado de Assis que vem aqui apresentado, analisado e traduzido pela primeira vez para o italiano. As observações e os comentários sobre o processo tradutório concluem este trabalho, evidenciando a poética da tradução adotada na tradução específica deste conto de Machado de Assis

No full textTese (doutorado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro de Comunicação e Expressão, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Literatura, Florianópolis, 2015.De que maneira a ficção de Machado de Assis teoriza sobre a ideia de pose? Por outro lado, quais teorias sobre a pose sua ficção solicita? Ao procurar responder estas perguntas, e por entender que a pose é uma noção central para analisar a literatura machadiana, estou sugerindo a tese de que Machado entende a própria ficção como pura exterioridade e aparência, e assim fantasmagoria, captando então, ainda no século XIX, o que Guy Debord chamou, décadas mais tarde, de  sociedade do espetáculo . Em outras palavras, a literatura de Machado deve sugerir, solicitar ou mesmo oferecer, anacronicamente, uma teoria contemporânea para refletir sobre a imagem. Isso porque, em sua ficção, a pose mobiliza uma verdadeira constelação de conceitos; ela pode ser refletida no retrato, na fotografia e também na moda, exigindo portanto posições analíticas variadas. Em suma, Machado parece nos dizer que a passagem pela noção de pose é não apenas indispensável para refletir sobre sua ficção; mais do que isso, tal passagem apresenta consequências determinantes para repensar o lugar de sua ficção na sociedade contemporânea e, dessa maneira, relativizar grande parte das conclusões feitas a respeito de sua obra nos últimos anos.Abstract : How does Machado de Assis' fiction theorizes about the idea of pose? On the other hand, which theories his fiction requests in relation to a concept of pose? In seeking to answer these questions, and assuming that the pose is a central notion to analyze Machado's literature, I am suggesting the thesis that Machado understands his own fiction as both pure externality and appearance, and so phantasmagoria, then capturing in the nineteenth century what Guy Debord would call the "society of the spectacle" decades later. In other words, Machado's literature could suggest, ask or even offer, anachronistically, a contemporary theory to reflect about the concept of image. This is because, in his fiction, the pose mobilizes a real constellation of concepts; it may be reflected in picture, photography and also in fashion and costumes, therefore requiring different analytical positions. In short, Machado seems to tell us that the passage through the notion of pose is not only indispensable to reflect about his fiction: more than that, such a passage has major implications for rethinking the place of his fiction in contemporary society and, thus, for a large relativization of many conclusions made about his work in recent years
Doce leite romântico: a presença de Victor Hugo nas crônicas de Machado de Assis
No full textVictor Hugo was the author most cited by Machado de Assis in his chronicles and was of great importance in the construction of his cultural heritage, leaving deep marks in his work. The author of Dom Casmurro read the work of Victor Hugo, admired it, memorized it, and, as a young man, tried to follow the ideals of the French poet. This admiration, however, was never blind, as he condemned the excesses of the Hugoist school led by Sílvio Romero, as well as some texts in bad taste published by the creator of Quasimodo. Likewise, he knew how to look at Victor Hugo with a critical eye, removing from his work only those aspects that could benefit his maturity as a writer. In the case of Machado de Assis, the vision of the Other was always permeated with a critical eye; the foreign presence started to be used for the benefit of its own text, thanks to the establishment of a renewing intertextual practice. It is curious to observe that the massive presence of Victor Hugo in Machado’s chronicles contrasts with a shy or almost non-existent presence in his short stories, poems, plays, and novels. This article intends to establish a hypothesis for such a contrast through the analysis of journalistic texts published by Machado de Assis.Victor Hugo foi o autor mais citado por Machado de Assis em suas crônicas e teve grande importância na construção de seu patrimônio cultural, deixando em sua obra marcas profundas. O autor de Dom Casmurro leu a obra de Victor Hugo, admirou-a, memorizou-a e, quando jovem, tentou seguir os ideais do poeta francês acerca da função da poesia e do teatro. Essa admiração, entretanto, nunca foi cega, pois ele condenou os excessos da escola hugoísta liderada por Sílvio Romero, bem como alguns textos de péssimo gosto publicados pelo criador de Quasímodo. Igualmente, soube olhar para Victor Hugo com olhos críticos, retirando de sua obra somente os aspectos que poderiam beneficiar o seu amadurecimento como escritor. No caso de Machado de Assis, a presença estrangeira era utilizada em benefício de seu próprio texto, graças ao estabelecimento de uma prática intertextual renovadora. É forçoso observar que a maciça presença de Victor Hugo nas crônicas machadianas contrasta com uma presença tímida ou quase inexistente em seus contos, poemas, peças e romances. Este artigo pretende estabelecer uma hipótese para tal contraste, por meio da análise dos textos jornalísticos publicados por Machado de Assis

No full textAlthough Victor Hugo supported the candidacy of Louis Napoleon in the elections for president of the French Republic and helped to elect him in 1848, Hugo turned against Bonaparte after the coup d'etat in December of 1851. The opposition to the government resulted in an exile wich only finished 19 years later, with the decay of Napoleon III. Victor Hugo produced nonstop for all these years: Napoleon le Petit, Les Chatiments, Les Contemplations, Les Travailleurs de la Mer, Les Chansons des Rues et des Bois, La Legende des siecles, Les Miserables, William Shakespeare, Les Travailleurs de la Mer e L'Homme qui rit are examples of an arduous and inspired work, but that doesn't hide the sadness of the exile. No full textEm Missa do Galo de Machado de Assis, cria-se uma relação intertextual com Os três mosqueteiros de Alexandre Dumas e "Vieille chanson du jeune temps" (Les contemplantions) de Victor Hugo. Seja em oposição a d´Artagnan ou em consonância com a voz lírica masculina do poema hugoano, constrói-se o texto que absorve criticamente os dados franceses, inserindo-os em novas relações contextuais onomásticas e imagéticas. Tal presença vai de par com o exposto em "Notícia da atual literatura brasileira/Instinto de nacionalidade" (1873), onde Machado de Assis se pergunta sobre a possiblidade de desenvolvimento literário nacional sem o pecúlio legado pela produção estrangeira.In "Missa do Galo", by Machado de Assis, an intertextual relationship with Os tres mosqueteiros, by Alexandre Dumas, and "Vieille chanson du jeune temps" (Les contemplations) by Victor Hugo is established.The texto critically assimilates and inserts the french characteristics in new contextual, onomastic and imagenic relationships, in oposition to d´Artagnan or in consonance with the lyric and masculine voice of the Victor Hugo poem.This presence goes to meet with what exposed in "Notice from the actual brazilian literature/Nationality instinct" (1873), where Machado de Assis asks himself about the possibility of national literary development, without the peculium legated from the foreign production
Measuring and analyzing German and Spanish customer satisfaction of using the iPhone 4S Mobile Cloud service
No full textThis paper presents the customer satisfaction analysis for measuring popularity in the Mobile Cloud, which is an emerging area in the Cloud and Big Data Computing. Organizational Sustainability Modeling (OSM) is the proposed method used in this research. The twelve-month of German and Spanish consumer data are used for the analysis to investigate the return and risk status associated with the ratings of customer satisfaction in the iPhone 4S Mobile Cloud services. Results show that there is a decline in the satisfaction ratings in Germany and Spain due to economic downturn and competitions in the market, which support our hypothesis. Key outputs have been explained and they confirm that all analysis and interpretations fulfill the criteria for OSM. The use of statistical and visualization method proposed by OSM can expose unexploited data and allows the stakeholders to understand the status of return and risk of their Cloud strategies easier than the use of other data analysis
