ASLan++ — A Formal Security Specification Language for Distributed Systems
No full textThis paper introduces ASLan++, the AVANTSSAR Specification Language. ASLan++ has been designed for formally specifying dynamically composed security-sensitive web services and service-oriented architectures, their associated security policies, as well as their security properties, at both communication and application level. We introduce the main concepts of ASLan++ at a small but very instructive running example, abstracted form a company intranet scenario, that features non-linear and inter-dependent workflows, communication security at different abstraction levels including an explicit credentialsbased authentication mechanism, dynamic access control policies, and the related security goals. This demonstrates the flexibility and expressiveness of the language, and that the resulting models are logically adequate, while on the other hand they are clear to read and feasible to construct for system designers who are not experts in formal methods

No full textYüksek lisans tezi.Hikâyeler romanlara göre hacim konusunda daha dar, kısa olan yazılardır. Modernist ve postmodernist öykücülüğünden önce halk hikayeleri ve mesnevi gibi türler hikâye türünde değerlendirilir. Hikâyeler, ilk örneklerinden sonra içerik ve yapı unsuru konusunda birçok değişime uğrar. Öykülerde daha gerçekçi verilen neden-sonuç ilişkisi, zaman, mekân, kişi unsurları; modernizm etkisi ile bu gerçekçi durumdan uzaklaşmaya başlar. Sonrasında etkili olan postmodern anlayışla hikâyenin yapı unsurunda önemli kırılmalar kendini gösterir. Modern metinler için önemli olan olay sıralaması, özne, zaman, mekân, kişiler dünyası gibi unsurlar gerçeklikten uzaklaştırılır. Yerini kurguya, kahramanların belirsizliğine, zaman soyutluğuna, mekânın fantastik değişimlerine bırakır. Çalışmanın amacı yazar Bahtiyar ASLAN'ın bilinç akışı tekniği ile oluşturulan, 52 hikâyesinde 'yapı ve izlek' kurguyu tespit etmektir. İmceleme yapılırken yapı unsurlarında sık kullanılan özelliklerin net görülmesi açısından öykülerden örnek metinlere sıkça yer verildi. Böylece Bahtiyar ASLAN'ın bilinç akışı tekniği ile Türk öykücülüğündeki konumu ve öyküleri yapı ve izlek olarak tespit edilmeye çalışıldı
Joint Compressive Video Coding and Analysis with Hidden Markov Model based Weighted Reconstruction
No full text21st Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU) -- APR 24-26, 2013 -- CYPRUSThis paper examines the performance of Hidden Markov Tree model based weights in reconstruction quality for an existing task-aware compressive video coding system which aims object detection specifically. The existing system utilizes weights in reconstruction which are computed by tracking of the foreground object. The proposed system acquires similar average PSNR with the existing one which reported some improvement compared to the conventional unweighted reconstruction at low sampling rates. Furthermore, it is a little bit better than the existing system at higher sampling rates. It can be inferred from this study that Bayesian approaches that take account structural dependencies between transformation coefficients has the potential of improving reconstruction quality for such a compressive video coding system with object detection task

The Aslan Suite
No full textThe Aslan Suite is a seven movement original composition for large jazz ensemble, auxiliary percussion and narrator. The thematic material presented in the various movements is programmatic in design, tracing events found in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis. Narration accompanied by incidental music is presented before pairs of movements providing the listener with a literary to musical (programmatic) cohesiveness throughout the Suite. Literary events are realized musically through the use of a multitude of timbres within the jazz orchestra (e.g., various mute combinations for the brass and extensive doubling for the woodwinds). Contemporary jazz compositional techniques are utilized throughout in conjunction with the composer's own compositional and orchestrational choices. Influences will include composition and orchestration techniques found in the works of Duke Ellington, Thad Jones, Gil Evans and Bob Brookmeyer. Performance time is 60 minutes. The accompanying essay describes the compositional process of the Aslan Suite at three syllogistic levels: inspiration, conception and production. The essay will also include a melodic, harmonic and orchestration analysis of selected excerpts of particular analytical interest. The analysis will include musical excerpts or concepts from the above jazz composers, which directly influenced the suite in composition and orchestration content.</p
