Çok satılan yazınsal çocuk kitaplarında evrensel değerler üzerine bir inceleme
No full textYazınsal nitelikli yapıtlar kurgu içinde evrensel değerleri de duyumsatır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye’de çok satılan yerli ve yabancı yazınsal çocuk kitaplarında evrensel değerlere ne düzeyde ve nasıl yer verildiğini belirlemektir. Bu çalışma, tarama modelinde betimsel bir çalışmadır. Çalışmanın veri kaynağını, 2014 yılında Türkiye'de çok satılan yazınsal çocuk kitapları oluşturmaktadır. Bu kapsamda belirlenen on kitaptan doküman incelemesi yoluyla elde edilen veriler, betimsel olarak çözümlenmiştir. Çalışmada, ana kategori “evrensel değerler”; alt kategoriler ise "barış, özgürlük/bağımsızlık, adalet/eşitlik, sevgi/şefkat (insan sevgisi, aile sevgisi, hayvan sevgisi, doğa sevgisi), saygı (özsaygı, başkalarına saygı, farklılıklara saygı), güven /özgüven, cesaret, azimlilik, sorumluluk (kendine karşı sorumluluk, başkalarına karşı sorumluluk), yardımseverlik/iyilikseverlik, yaşamdan zevk almak/mutluluk/yaşama bağlı olmak, dürüstlük, dostluk/arkadaşlık, hoşgörülü/merhametli/ anlayışlı olmak, alçakgönüllülük, kibarlık/naziklik, başarı/çalışkanlık/öğrenme isteği, işbirliği" olarak belirlenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda, çok satılan çocuk kitaplarında evrensel değerlerin sezinletilmesine dönük iletilerin bulunduğu ve bu iletilerin, biri dışında, diğer kitaplarda dolaylı (örtük) olarak verildiği görülmüştür. Çocukların evrensel değerleri duyumsatan ve iletilerini örtük olarak veren yazınsal kitaplarla buluşturulması gerekir. Çocuklara dönük yazılan başka yazınsal yapıtların da aynı amaç ve bakış açısıyla incelenmesi gerektiği bu çalışma kapsamında getirilen bir öneridir.
Literary works contain the sense of universal values in fiction. The aim of this study is to specify how and to what extent universal values are included in both indigenous and foreign best selling literary books in Turkey. This study was prepared via descriptive/survey method. The data of this study sourced from literary children books sold out in 2014 in Turkey. The data acquired by means of document analysis of the ten books having been selected in terms of this criterion was analysed via descriptive analysis method. In the study, the main category was identified as ‘universal values’ while the sub-categories concerned ‘peace, freedom/independence, justice/equality, love/compassion (love of humanity, love of animals, love of family, love of nature), respect ( self- respect, respecting others, respecting others’ individual differences), confidence/self-confidence, courage, determination, responsibility (responsibility for oneself and others) cooperativeness/kindness, happiness / enjoying life/ being attached to life, honesty, friendship, being sympathetic /tolerant, modesty, politeness, being successful/hardworking, willingness to learn, and collaboration’. As a result of this study, all the best-selling children books, except one, were detected to contain messages to convey the universal values; however, these messages are not conveyed explicitly and didactically, but indirectly and implicitly. It is suggested to expose children to literary books implicating universal values and transmitting the messages implicitly. Also, in this study other literary books targeting children are suggested to be analysed in terms of the same aim and aspect
Sevim Ak'ın çocuk romanlarının söz varlığı açısından çözümlenmesi
No full textBu çalışmanın amacı, Sevim Ak'ın çocuk romanlarında sözvarlığını oluşturan dilsel öğelerin ve bu öğelerin kullanım sıklıklarının belirlenmesidir. Yazarın çocuk edebiyatı yapıtlarından roman türünde olan 12 kitabı incelenmiştir. Kitaplar içerik analizi yöntemiyle çözümlenmiştir. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde sıklık ve yüzde hesaplamaları yapılmıştır. Çalışmada "Türkçe'nin sözvarlığı" ana kategori; "atasözleri", "deyimler", "ikilemeler", "terimler", "ilişki sözleri", "kalıplaşmış sözler", "çeviri sözcükler", "yabancı sözcükler", "bilmeceler", "tekerlemeler", "argo sözcükler" ve "Anadolu ağızları" ise alt kategoriler olarak belirlenmiştir. Yazarın tüm romanları sözvarlığı açısından taranıp, her bir kitaptaki sözvarlıkları girdikleri sınıfa göre abecesel sıralanarak belirtilmiştir. Her kitap için sözvarlıklarını oluşturan dilsel öğelerin sıklık ve yüzdelerinin belirtildiği çizelgeler oluşturulmuştur. Bu çalışmada, yazarın romanlarında sözvarlığını oluşturan çeşitli öğelere yer verdiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu öğeler arasında ikilemelerin geniş yer tuttuğu görülmüş ardından deyimlerin, yabancı sözcüklerin, terimlerin, ilişki sözlerinin, argo sözcüklerin geldiği saptanmıştır. Yazarın romanlarda kalıplaşmış sözlere hiç yer vermediği; Anadolu ağızları, atasözleri, tekerlemeler ve bilmeceleri ise diğer sözvarlığı öğelerine oranla çok daha az kullandığı belirlenmiştir.AbstractThe purpose of this study is to determine the structure and the frequency of vocabulary items in Sevim Ak's children literature novels works. Among the other genres, twelve children novels of the writer were analyzed. The books were analyzed using the content analysis method. The frequency and the percentage calculations were made in analyzing the data. In this study "Turkish vocabulary" is the main category; "proverbs", "idioms", "redublications", "terms", "including expressions showing social relations among people", "fixed expressions", "anagrams", "foreign words", "riddles", "tongue twisters", "slang words" and "Anatolian dialects" are defined as sub-categories. By scanning the content in all the novels of the author, vocabulary items in every book were stated by ranging alphabetically based on their catagories. The charts reflecting the frequency and the percentages of vocabulary items were made for each book. In this study it was concluded that the author includes various items that make up vocabulary in her novels. Among these items it was seen that redublications have an extensive coverage and it was appointed that idioms, foreign words, terms, including expressions showing social relations among people, and slang words come next. In the author's novels, it was deduced that she never included fixed expressions and used Anatolian dialect, proverbs, tongue twisters and riddles much less compared to other vocabulary items

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used

No full textÇocuk edebiyatı yapıtlarının, toplumsal cinsiyet rolleri bakımından çağdaş yaşamın gereklerine uygun ve eşitlikçi bir biçimde yapılandırılması gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, ödüllü çocuk romanlarını toplumsal cinsiyet kalıp yargıları bağlamında incelemektir. Çalışmanın veri kaynağını, Türkiye'de en az beş yıldır çocuk ve gençlik edebiyatı ödülleri veren kurumların 2013-2015 yıllarını kapsayan üç yıllık dönemde ödüle layık gördükleri romanlar oluşturmaktadır. Bu kapsamda yer alan ve yayımlanmış dokuz kitaptan doküman incelemesi yoluyla elde edilen veriler, betimsel olarak çözümlenmiştir. Çalışmada toplumsal cinsiyet ana kategorisi, farklı cinsiyetlerdeki karakterlerin "ev işlerinin paylaşmaları", "evi geçindirmeleri", "herhangi bir mesleği gerçekleştirmeleri", "bir işi bağımsız biçimde başarabilmeleri", "yönetici/lider olmaları", "oynadıkları oyunlar ve oyuncak seçimleri" ve "kişilik özellikleri" alt kategorilerine ayrılarak betimsel olarak çözümlenmiştir. Sonuçta, incelenen kitaplarda toplumsal cinsiyet kalıp yargılarını destekleyen örneklerin çoğunlukta olduğu; ancak bazı durumlarda toplumsal cinsiyet kalıp yargılarını desteklemeyen anlatımlara da rastlandığı görülmüştür.Abstract Children's literature works need to be structured in an equitable manner in accordance with the needs of contemporary life in terms of gender roles. The purpose of this study is to examine the awarded children's novels in the context of gender stereotypes. The data source of the work constitutes the novels which have been awarded by institutions that have been awarding children and youth literature for at least five years in Turkey, in a three-year period covering 2013-2015. In this context, through document analysis, the data obtained from the nine published books were analyzed descriptively. Main gender category in this study was divided into subcategories called "sharing household chores", "earning a living for the family", "having an occupation", "achieving something independently", "being a manager/leader" and "games and toys selection" and "personality traits". As a result, it inferred that in the books examined, there are many examples supporting gender stereotypes, but in some cases, there are expressions that oppose gender stereotypes
