Transformational HR for Generation Z : gig economy efficiency and adaptability
The contemporary workforce is being radically transformed by the emergence of Generation Z and the explosive growth of the gig economy. Gen Z differs from other generations in valuing flexibility, autonomy, and purposeful work more than the long term employment model. Their technological literacy has redefined work standards, with freelancing, temporary contracts, and remote work becoming the new norm. While this trend is beneficial in the sense that it provides work-life balance and diversified sources of income, it has challenges in employment security, mental well-being, and career advancement. HR practitioners need to shift by embracing innovation, technology, and flexibility. The old model of employment does not suit Gen Z's needs anymore, calling for dynamic practices such as on-demand learning, customized benefits, and AI-enabled talent management. Extended Isogeometric Analysis of Cracked Piezoelectric Materials in the Presence of Flexoelectricity
To accurately analyze the fracture behavior of piezoceramics at small length scales, flexoelectricity must be considered along with piezoelectricity. Due to its dependence on size, flexoelectricity predominates at the micro- and nano-length scales. Additionally, crack tips having the largest strain gradient state cause large flexoelectricity around them. Different approaches are employed in the past to model cracks computationally. However, extended isogeometric analysis (XIGA) is proven to be an accurate and efficient method. C1 continuity requirements for modeling gradients in flexoelectricity are met by non-uniform rational B-splines (NURBS) basis functions used in XIGA. In this work, XIGA-based computational model is developed and implemented to study the fracture behavior of the piezoelectric-flexoelectric domain. An in-house MATLAB code is developed for the same. Several numerical examples are studied to ensure the efficacy and efficiency of the implemented model, and crack behavior is presented in the form of an electro-mechanical J-integral. The analysis is carried out to investigate how cracks behave for different flexoelectric coefficients under different electrical and mechanical loading combinations. J-integral is also analyzed against crack parameters such as crack orientation and length. It is observed that boundary loads and flexoelectric material constants significantly influence J-integral. Results also show a considerable amount of fracture toughening in the presence of flexoelectricity. The peak value of J-integral is found to be reduced with an increase in the flexoelectric coefficient. Author Experiences with the IS Journal Review Process
Research publication in peer-reviewed journals is an important avenue for knowledge dissemination. However, information on journal review process metrics are often not available to prospective authors, which may preclude effective targeting of their research work to appropriate outlets. We study these metrics for information systems (IS) researchers through a survey of actual author experiences of the IS journal review process. Our results provide a knowledge base of the length and quality of the review process in various journals; responsiveness of the journal office and publication delay; and correlations of metrics with published studies of journal rankings. The data should enable authors to make effective submission decisions, as well as help to benchmark journal review processes among competing journals

Research indicates that consuming more fish oil fatty acids, particularly DHA, can benefit human health. This study examines physiological and health consequences throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding, as well as the immune response stress, CVS illness, cancer, and psychological disorders. We investigated 16S rRNA methyltransferases in 38 blaNDM-1-positive Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates and found RmtC in 3 isolates, 1 of which also harbored RmtF. The isolates were clonally unrelated; rmtC and rmtF genes were located on a chromosome with the blaNDM-1 gene. Strategies are needed to limit the spread of such isolates
