    No full text
The article aims at discussing the relational space between author and reader in the experiential gesture of reading, and the conditions in which such gesture provides for the active participation of the reader so that he collaborates in the realization of the meaning of the text. This dynamics is found in the parenting moments that offer the reading of the fairy tale plot in early childhood. The same dynamics appears to be found in the epistemic conditions of literature, generating the subsequent pleasure it arouses in life

    No full text

    No full text
The pedagogy of fraternity deconstructs human relationality and establishes new forms and new horizons in the sacred-profane dynamic. It is linked to the pedagogy of the person and creates the possibility of new closeness and proximity. The Encyclical Fratelli Tutti contributed in a fundamental way to laying the founda- tions of this pedagogy of contemporaneity, and the pedagogy of sustainability is inex- tricably linked to this pedagogy of fraternity

    Democratic community on the net

The article examines the risks of digital coexistence, which makes the virtual community a sort of tribal village, albeit a global one, having little in common with the educating spirit of the inclusive, and personalistic community, which is bent on the sacredness of the person. After having explored the community/comunità dichotomy, and after having unveiled the elements that set the distance between the global village and a democratic community, open and plural, where different opinions coexist as in an ancient Athenian agora, primary nucleus of the Western democracy, this article questions a typical phenomenon of online coexistence, namely the phenomenon of fake news, proposing a series of cultural hypotheses. The author’s thesis is that fake news is an epistemic and hermeneutic question that challenges pedagogical responsibility. Interpreting the load of daily information, knowing how to read the news and, if necessary, identify the false ones to ignore them, without being swallowed up by them, means exercising a critical spirit in a complex and connected society: this appears to be a great pedagogical challenge in the contemporary digital community

La letteratura come vita e come speranza: pedagogia politica in Carlo Bo

Sammarco, Testi e linguaggi (2021)This paper offers a critical-hermeneutic analysis of hope in Carlo Bo’s thought, rooting it within a very long tradition (Greek and Hebraic). The author then focuses the attention on the anthological text Scan dalo della Speranza, with which Bo entertains a dialogue with facts and faces of his time. Bo’s thought follows a counter-factuality of hope, moving this notion beyond the mere facts, data or numbers. This is a fil rouge that links Bo’s to the Pauline thought, bringing it and rooting it within the xx century, and making it a truly topical subject

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Dal minotauro all’algoritmo.

    No full text
