No full textIn this interview, Carla Trujillo discusses her roots, which include being born in New Mexico and growing up in Northern California. Carla received her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Educational Psychology from UW-Madison and became an established author. It will help determine which audio file(s) to download & listen to.Carla Trujillo was born to a working class family in New Mexico and grew up in Northern California. Her extended family and roots are New Mexican (Chicana). She received her B.S. degree in Human Development from UC Davis, and her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Her dissertation focused on assessing differential treatment of underrepresented students in college classrooms. She is the editor of Living Chicana Theory and Chicana Lesbians: The Girls Our Mothers Warned Us About (Third Woman Press), winner of a Lambda Book Award and the Out/Write Vanguard Award. Her first novel, What Night Brings (Curbstone Press 2003), won the Miguel Marmol prize focusing on human rights. What Night Brings also won the Paterson Fiction Prize, the Latino Literary Foundation Latino Book Award, Bronze Medal from Foreword Magazine, Honorable Mention for the Gustavus Meyers Books Award, and was a LAMBDA Book Award finalist. Carla has also written various articles on identity and higher education. Her latest novel, Faith and Fat Chances, was a finalist for the 2012 PEN Bellwether Prize for socially engaged fiction and is forthcoming from Curbstone/Northwestern University Press. Carla works as the Assistant Dean for Graduate Diversity Program at U.C. Berkeley and has focused some of her recent activities on improving the work and classroom climate using Interactive Theater. She has lectured in Ethnic Studies at U.C. Berkeley and Mills College, and in Women’s Studies at S.F. State University. She has also taught fiction for the Sandra Cisneros Macondo Writers Program and the Lambda Literary Foundation’s Emerging Writers Program

No full textEl propósito general de esta investigación fue analizar las etapas de formulación y sanción de la Ley Orgánica de Educación de la provincia de Río Negro durante el período 2011- 2012. Dicha ley es la matriz que orienta al sistema educativo provincial, por eso, nos propusimos indagar sobre qué intereses y estrategias guiaron a los diferentes actores que participaron en ambas etapas. Esta tesis se inscribe en los estudios sobre políticas públicas que ponen el acento en el análisis estratégico y las relaciones entre actores e instituciones, la cual se complementa con aportes de la comunicación política. La metodología fue de tipo cualitativa permitiendo un abordaje interpretativo, que sirvió para estudiar la trama de las relaciones entre el Estado y los diversos actores tanto sociales como estatales de incumbencia.Fil: Araya, Paula P. Corrosion of aeronautical aluminium alloys and its components related to the proteic expression of the fungus hormoconis resinae
Get PDFEste artículo muestra que los requerimientos nutricionales de oligoelementos constituyen la fuerza impulsora de la corrosión influenciada microbiológicamente que produce Hormoconis resinae en aleaciones aeronáuticas de aluminio. Se compararon perfiles proteicos de biopelículas del hongo cultivado en turbocombustible aeronáutico mediante electroforesis en geles de poliacrilamida. Se caracterizó la morfología de ataque de las aleaciones y de sus componentes metálicos puros y el crecimiento de hifas sobre cada metal mediante microscopía electrónica de barrido ambiental. Se concluyó que la corrosión estaría asociada a aleantes que actuarían como oligoelementos para el microorganismo.This article shows that the metabolic needs of oligoelements constitute the driving force of the microbiologically influenced corrosion produced by Hormoconis resinae on aeronautical aluminium alloys. Protein profiles of biofilms generated by fungal strains cultivated in aeronautical fuel were compared by electrophoresis in poliacrylamide gels. The morphology attack of alloys, its component metals and the growth of hyphae in cultures were characterized by means of environmental scanning electronic microscopy. One of the main conclusions is that corrosion would be associated to alloying elements that would act as oligoelements for the microorganism.Fil: Araya, Raquel.
