Developing Quizizz Based Learning Media in Teaching Reading
Get PDFThe objectives of this study are to (1) identify the process of developing the product, (2) find out the feasibility of the product and (3) to find out students’ responses toward the product. The research method used in this research was the Research and Development (R & D) method, with the ADDIE development model. The respondents of this study were first semester students in English department who are taking the subject of reading for general purposes and two experts who assess the validity of the product content and the validity of media. The data collection methods in this study were observation, interview and questionnaires. The results showed that the process of developing the product has completed with the ADDIE model, which consisted of five stages namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Second, the product was feasible. It was supported by the validators' result value, which felt into the "Very Good" categories. Third, the product that has been tested in the class received positive responses from the students. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of quizizz based learning media is recommended to be applied in reading class. This media is beneficial in improving students’ interest in reading

Oleh karena itu, salah satu solusi bagi guru untuk menciptakan media pembelajaran yang inovatif adalah dengan menggunakan VBA Microsoft Excel. Pembelajaran dengan menggunakan VBA Microsoft Excel ini membantu guru dalam berinovasi menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang lebih baik dan tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran matematika serta Bahasa inggris secara optimal. Namun, salah satu permasalahan yang sudah pasti banyak dihadapi oleh para guru di Indonesia adalah kemampuannya dalam bidang teknologi. Karena rendahnya kemampuan guru di bidang teknologi membuat guru sulit menciptakan media pembelajaran yang inovatif berbasis ICT. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengedukasi guru-guru SDIT Uswatun Hasanah mengenai VBA Microsoft Excel sebagai Media Pembelajaran Inovatif Matematika dan Bahasa Inggris. Ada empat tahapan yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini, yaitu: 1) Tahapan analisis, b) tahapan perancangan , c) tahapan pengembangan dan d) tahapan pelaksanaan. Adapun hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah semua guru peserta mampu membuat media pembelajaran inovatif untuk Matematika dan Bahasa Inggris dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran, serta memiliki keterampilan dalam menggunakan media tersebut. Setiap guru disediakan modul petunjuk sebagai pedoman untuk membuat dan menggunakan media pembelajaran inovatif tersebut

The participants of this research were 30 students of Senior high school in Cianjur. In obtaining the data, questionnaire was employed as the research instruments. The findings of this research indicated that the students’ responses have positive perception on the use of scientific approach through blogspot media. Students felt that learning writing descriptive text using Blogspot make students understand the material easily, Learning writing descriptive text using scientific approach trough Blogspot is more interesting. LEARNING PHONEME IDENTIFICATION USING READING ALOUD TECHNIQUE: EFL LEARNERS’ PERCEPTION
Get PDFThis research proposed to figure out about students’ perception in learning phoneme identification using reading aloud. The research is a descriptive qualitative research. The research involved 17 students as the respondents. The researchers utilized questionnaires and interview in collecting the data. The results of this research revealed that most of the respondents (76.47%) had positive responses toward the use of reading aloud. The data from interview also revealed several benefits that the students obtained after learning by using Reading aloud such as having new knowledge in pronunciang each phoneme properly, reading aloud offers not only joyful but also enthusiasm booster in learning, by reading aloud, students can identify their own mispronunciation, and reading aloud has an imitation method which help students in sharping students’ oral-fluency

Get PDFA Deixis Analysis of Song Lyrics in Queen “I Want to Break Freeâ€. The aim of the research are to analyze the three types of deixis analysis using Yule (1996) theory and to identify the dominant deixis found in the lyrics. Researchers chose this song as the subject of analysis because of the song's popularity and it also consisted of deictic words and reference meanings. This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative method. The data this research are lyrics of “I want to break free†song by Queen. In addition, this song was classified into three types of deixis analysis based on their own criteria. The result of the research showed that there are three types of deixis found in the song. They are: Person deixis (94%), Spatial deixis: (3%), Temporal deixis: (3%). In addition, the highest percentage of all is Person deixis. Get PDFThis research aimed to describe students’ responses toward teaching reading comprehension of descriptive text using small group discussion. The research used descriptive qualitative. The sample of the research was seventh grade students of one of junior high school in cianjur. The data were obtained from interview and questionnaire. The data analyzed using qualitative descriptive. The result showed that the students’ responses toward teaching reading comprehension of descriptive texts is positive and effective. The duration the vlog is 7:32 minutes posted on November 27, 2016 on Nessie’s youtube account. When the speaker is speaking will occur in the conversation, become a reason the resercher to anlyze pauses, overlaps, and backchannels. The purpose of this research is to find out what the types of pauses, overlaps, and backchannels and how the pauses, overlaps, and backchannels in the conversation between Nessie and her partner. This research used qualitative method. To collect the data the researcher watched the vlog of Nessie. After the data collected, the data was classified into types of pauses, overlaps, and backchannels. Then, the reasercher analyzed the reason behind of it. The result of this research showed that there are two types of pauses in conversations. Filler and unfiller pause. And also there are two types of backchannels. IMPROVING STUDENTS' PARTICIPATION IN SPEAKING ENGLISH USING SNOWBALL THROWING TECHNIQUE
Get PDFThis study aimed to investigate the implementation of snowball throwing technique in teaching speaking and to find out the students’ participation toward the implementation of snowball throwing. This study was conducted at SMK PGRI 1 Cimahi. The students of XI AP 1 class were selected as the respondents of the research. The research used descriptive qualitative method. The data was obtained from classroom observation and students’ interview. The result showed that snowball throwing technique can be used effectively to improve students’ speaking skill through several stages. First, every leader explains the material to their group. Second, every student writing one question about the material. Third, the paper is rolled into a ball and thrown from one student in a group to the other student in another group for approximately 2 minutes. Fourth, after the student gets one ball (one question), he or she is given chance to answer the question. Fifth, every group has their turn to answer the question; the group that gave wrong or incorrect answers and gets the lowest score is given a penalty. Those stages gave the students more chance to interacted in the class. It was very helpful in provide the students with more enjoyable activities which made the students involved in teaching and learning process actively
