    Embedded-amphorae structures: a way to reclaim lands. Some parallel from Provincia Hispanica. Proceeding to the study of technical factors to observe a peculiar building method with embedded-amphorae, the A., who, since the 80's, studies this reclaim lands systems, explains some cases from Italia Cisalpina, like Mediolanum Cremona, Parma, Novaria and many other, comparing with Spanish cases (Zaragoza, Empuries, Cadiz). The finality of embedded-amphorae can be understood through lithological soil characteristics: the aim is the improvement of geotechnical or hydraulic soil conditions.La Autora, que desde los años ochenta estudia los sistemas de mejora de las características del terreno con ànforas, partiendo del estudio de los factores técnicos necesarios para analizar un método único de construcción a base de ánforas colocadas en el suelo, ilustra algunos casos de la Italia Cisalpina, como Mediolanum, Cremona, Novaria y otros, y los compara con hallazgos en ciudades hispanas como Zaragoza y Cadiz. El propósito de los acúmulos de ánforas puede entenderse por las características litológicas de las zonas en las que se aplicó esta técnica: por lo que la Autora reflexiona sobre la terminología más adecuada a aplicar segùn el objectivo perseguido por los técnicos que adopraron esta particular forma de construcción

    We updated the Paraná River hydrometric data available at https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.882613. Specifically we offer here daily Paraná water levels observed from August 2017 to December 2023 at the staff gauge F described in Antico et al. (2018, https://doi.org/10.1002/2017WR020897; hereafter A18), and provided in the form of Excel spreadsheets by the Argentinian national waterway agency (in Spanish: Dirección Nacional de Control de Puertos y Vías Navegables). We confirmed that all these water level observations passed the quality checks of A18 and we converted them into discharges by using the rating curve of A18. These new updated data capture the 2019 and 2023 floods, and the prolonged discharge drought occurred from 2020 until 2022

    Here we provide the data set obtained as described in detail in Antico et al. (2018, doi:10.1002/2017WR020897); a brief description is presented below. We imaged and digitized paper format official national data of daily Paraná water level observations taken at Rosario City, Argentina, from January 1875 to July 2017. Quality checks were applied to the digitized official daily levels in order to flag suspicious values. A corrected version of the official level data was obtained by eliminating the errors caused by gauge sinkings that may have occurred from 1875 to 1908. A rating curve was obtained for Rosario and it was used to convert official and corrected levels into official and corrected discharges, respectively. The water level and discharge data provided here constitute the longest (last 143 years) continuous hydrometric records of the Paraná River, one of the ten largest rivers in the world
