Anna C. Sather was 74 years old and was born in Madagascar to Lutheran missionaries. She lived in Madagascar until she was 9 years old when her father died. Her family then moved to Minneapolis where she grew up.
She discusses living in Madagascar and the trip back to the United States. She talk about her education in the United States, including getting her degree at Augsburg University. She discusses the differences of rural and urban living after she married her husband and moved to a farm with him. She talks about her misadventures in cooking and the difficulties of being a farm wife. On attached sheet of paper: Anna C Groblewski of Kingston, Pa., embroidering her kind of "silk painting," working on a nude which was first conceived in a pencil sketch on muslin. Mrs. Groblewski and her sister, Josephine E Verbinski, originated this method of "painting" which will be shown for the first time at the 24th annual exhibition of the Society of Independent Aritsts, meeting from April 19 to May 12, in the American Fine Arts Society Galleries. The two sisters can work jointly on the same "painting" and claim that the silk threads bring out colors, high-lights and shading, similar to that done by a painter in oils
