The Fana\u27 Concept of Abu Yazid al-Busthomi and Imam Junaid al-Baghdadi (Comparative Study)
The concept of fana is a concept that developed in the third and fourth centuries hijriyah. A concept of fusion (trance) which later became an experience desired by many Sufism retainers. A Sufistic experience that must be passed and deliver Sufis at the top of the world of Sufism. with the experience that each Sufi feels so that many bring up various differences between one and another, then it also becomes a phenomenon for the fuqoha\u27. Abu Yazid al-Busthomi and Imam Junaid al-Baghdadi were one of the pioneers of the concept of Fana’. With a distinctly different background, between Sufi philosophy and Sunni. So the author takes the initiative and aims to combine the views between the two by examining a character who is balanced against and a character who has many adherents to this day, in order to get a good understanding and similarities or differences in the concept of Fana’\u27. This research uses library research, by means of qualitative analysis. As well as using primary and secondary sources. The results of this study are the concept of Fana’ must be together with the concept of Baqo’, awareness of a person\u27s individuality has disappeared even though his physical form is still there. And to reach the peak of Fana’, the Salikin must leave the nature, character and personality as humans

Performance of blended cement concrete exposed to marine environment
Reinforced concrete exposed to the marine environment deteriorates more rapidly. Structures constructed at or near the sea shore have to be repaired more often than comparable structures located elsewhere. This study was carried out to develop an understanding of the performance of concrete made up of cements blended by pozzolanic materials. Several mix designs were formulated, incorporating the pozzolans like slag, fly ash and silica fume and calcium nitrate as the corrosion inhibitor. Mix designs were in accordance with ACI 211-1 and pozzolanic materials were added in accordance with ACI 233 and ACI 234. A number of tests were carried out during the study to compare the performance of samples cast from concrete of different mix designs. Tests conducted during the study were Rapid Migration Test (NT Build 492), Half Cell Potential (ASTM C 876), Absorptivity of the oven-dried samples (ASTM C 642), Compressive Strength Test (ASTM C 39) and Flexural Strength Test (ASTM C 293). Results showed that in almost all cases, use of cements blended with pozzolanic materials resulted in an enhanced performance of the concrete. Use of supplementary cementitious materials (SCM) in concrete provides a sustainable and feasible solution to the durability problems in coastal areas. Replacements of OPC by the pozzolan will not only help in conservation of natural resources, but it will also contribute towards reducing pollution and energy

Making federated learning robust to adversarial attacks by learning data and model association
One of the key challenges in federated learning (FL) is the detection of malicious parameter updates. In a typical FL setup, the presence of malicious client(s) can potentially demolish the overall training of the shared global model by influencing the aggregation process of the server. In this paper, we present a hybrid learning-based method for the detection of poisoned/malicious parameter updates from malicious clients. Furthermore, to highlight the effectiveness of the proposed method, we provide empirical evidence by evaluating the proposed method against a well-known label flipping attack on three different image classification tasks. The results suggest that our method can effectively detect and discard poisoned parameter updates without causing a significant drop in the performance of the overall learning of the FL paradigm. Our proposed method has achieved an average malicious parameters updates detection accuracy of 97.57%, 92.35%, and 89.42% for image classification task on MNIST, CIFAR, and APTOS diabetic retinopathy (DR) detection. Our method provides a performance gain of approximately 2% as compared to a recent similar state of the art method on MNIST classification and provided a comparable performance on federated extended MNIST (FEMNIST). 2022 The AuthorsThe first and last author would like to acknowledge funding from NCCS Blockchain Lab and Qatar National Library (QNL), respectively. Simulation of Groundwater Flow Dynamics under Different Stresses Using MODFLOW in Rechna Doab, Pakistan
Groundwater is a primary source of freshwater provisions all around the world. Due to its limited availability, water has become a precious entity nowadays. The future accessibility of groundwater is endangered due to its massive exploitation, particularly in the irrigation sector. Therefore, the current study was conducted to assess the declining groundwater levels in Rechna Doab, Punjab, Pakistan, where the aquifer has been reported to be highly stressed. A groundwater flow model was developed using the MODFLOW code of the USGS, and the steady-state model was calibrated for the year 2006, followed by a transient calibration for the years 2006–2010. Finally, the model was validated for 2011–2013, and a new scenario-based approach was used. Multiple future scenarios were developed to simulate the future response of the aquifer under changed recharge and pumping. The hydrodynamics of the groundwater flow was studied for two decades, i.e., up to 2033. The results under the business-as-usual scenario revealed a net gain in water levels in the upper parts of the study area. In contrast, a lowering of water levels was predicted in the central and lower parts. A maximum drop in the water level was anticipated to be 5.17 m, with a maximum gain of 5 m. For Scenario II, which followed the historical trend of pumping, an overall decline in water levels was observed, with a maximum expected drawdown of 15.68 m. However, the proposed water management Scenario III showed a general decrease in the upper study region, with the highest drop being 10.7 m, whereas an overall recovery of 6.87 m in the lower regions was observed. The simulations also suggested that the unconfined aquifer actively responded to the different scenario-based interventions. It was concluded that the region’s aquifer needs immediate action regarding pumping and recharge patterns to avoid a potential increase in pumping costs and to preserve the sustainability of endangered groundwater resources. Moreover, proper groundwater pumping and its policy legislation for its management should be implemented in order to protect this precious resource.Water Resource

Fake visual content detection using two-stream convolutional neural networks
Rapid progress in adversarial learning has enabled the generation of realistic-looking fake visual content. To distinguish between fake and real visual content, several detection techniques have been proposed. The performance of most of these techniques however drops off significantly if the test and the training data are sampled from different distributions. This motivates efforts towards improving the generalization of fake detectors. Since current fake content generation techniques do not accurately model the frequency spectrum of the natural images, we observe that the frequency spectrum of the fake visual data contains discriminative characteristics that can be used to detect fake content. We also observe that the information captured in the frequency spectrum is different from that of the spatial domain. Using these insights, we propose to complement frequency and spatial domain features using a two-stream convolutional neural network architecture called TwoStreamNet. We demonstrate the improved generalization of the proposed two-stream network to several unseen generation architectures, datasets, and techniques. The proposed detector has demonstrated significant performance improvement compared to the current state-of-the-art fake content detectors with the fusing of frequency and spatial domain streams also improving the generalization of the detector. 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature.Scopu
