Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. The benefits for the spiritual that is psychological, personality and character will grow in the direction appropriate with the pressure of society. Based on the results of the review and information obtained from the sports education and sports teacher of Cadas Ngampar, the problems developed in MI Cadas Ngampar are: physical and health education teachers who only watch the scope of learning as they usually do, learning bolavoli always use bolavoli the original and it is used, the learners who feel the pain while serving bottom. There are words that can be used to do what can be done by using functions that can improve your ability in a fourthgrade bolavoli game MI Cadas Ngampar. The research method that will be carried out is quantitative experimental method. Based on the results of data processing, researchers conducted experiments on the effort to increase the ability to use plastic ball in the game bolavoli, there are findings that exercise with the ball gives a significant effect on the game bolavoli. This can be argued with data showing the highest group average before being given as early as 9.3, standard deviation 0.96, and average in the final test of 16.7, standard deviation 1.87. While in the control group the average of the initial test was 9.3, standard deviation 2.41, and the mean final test was 12.8, standard deviation 2.04. From the results of the data it can be concluded that the practice of service using the ball in fourth grade students MI Cadas Ngampar give a significant influence on the game bolavoli, and the experimental group more significant influence than the control group
PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN MINYAK ATSIRI TANAMAN RUKU-RUKU (Ocimum tenuiflorum L.) SEBAGAI SUMBER ANTIOKSIDAN PADA LIP BALM
Full text linkPenelitian in bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan minyak atsiri tanaman ruku-ruku terhadap karakteristik dan aktivtas antioksidan lip balm, serta untuk mengetahui formulasi penambahan minyak atsiri ruku-ruku terbaik terhadap karakteristik lip balm. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan lima perlakuan dan masing-masing tiga ulangan. Perlakuannya merupakan penambahan minyak atsiri ruku-ruku, dimana A (0%), B (1%), C (2%), D (3%), dan E (4%). Data dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan Analisis Of Varians (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan analisis Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DMRT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan minyak atsiri tanaman ruku-ruku berpengaruh signifikan terhadap aktivitas antioksidan dan organoleptik tekstur. Tetapi tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap nilai pH, homogenitas, daya oles, uji iritasi, organoleptik warna, dan organoleptik aroma. Perlakuan terbaik berdasarkan analisis kimia, fisik, dan organoleptik adalah perlakuan B (penambahanan minyak ruku-ruku 1%) dengan nilai pH 5,61, homogen dan tidak ada bulir kasar, daya oles merata dan tidak berwarna, tidak menimbukan reaksi iritasi, aktivitas antioksidan sebesar 53,83%, persentase peningkatan kelembaban 21,56%, analisis organoleptik kesukaan panelis terhadap warna (4,04), aroma (3,52), dan tekstur (4,16). Diketahui senyawa utama minyak atsiri ruku-ruku yaitu eugenol (19,27%), limonene (16,86%), dan caryophyllene (14,18%). Persentase peningkatan kelembaban lip balm perlakuan terbaik (B) yang lebih tinggi sebesar 21,56% dibandingkan dengan lip balm komersial dengan nilai 20,56%. Penelitian lanjutan diperlukan untuk melihat potensi terhadap umur simpan lip balm dengan penambahan minyak atsiri ruku-ruku

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases.
