THE EFFECT OF STUDENTS’ LEARNING PROCESS STRATEGIES AND STUDENTS’ MOTIVATION ON READING ENGLISH TEXT ACHIEVEMENT AT FIRST GRADE STUDENTS’ ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Get PDFReading is a meaning-making process that which have purposeful of identifying and interpreting writer’s ideas. Lack mastery in the concept and comprehension reading process is among the problems frequently faced by readers, without exceptions students of first grade. This happens because there are differences in individual’s language development, background, cognitive ability and attitude toward reading. Strategies in reading needed by students to facilitate in understanding reading English text and to make effective and efficient motivation are needed. The purpose of this research is to know is there any significant effect of students’ learning process strategies and students’ motivation on reading English text at first grade students’ elementary school. This study was quantitative research, 70 students were chosen as a sample with simple random sampling technique.The two questionnaires (students’ learning strategies and motivation) and one reading test were distributed to gather the data, and they were analyzed quantitatively. The first instrument concerned to identify the frequency of learning process strategies that the students mostly used. The second instrument identified students’ motivation. Meanwhile, the reading tests were given to assessed students’ reading English text achievement. In short, there were three kinds of data that had been collected (the cores/frequency of learning strategies, the scores/the rate of students’ motivation and the score of reading test).The results of data analysis show that there is an effect of students’ learning process strategies and students’ motivation simultaneously on their reading English text achievement at first grade students’ elementary school. It is proven from the results of statistical calculation that Fobs(132.407) >Ftab(3.33). In conclusion, this study found that learning process strategies and motivation used by students positively influenced students’ reading English text achievement. In line with this conclusion, the writers suggest that the teacher had positive and motivating attitudes.

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

As a reader, they try to discover what the author means while, at the same time, they build meaning for themselves. They use their own language, their own thoughts, and they own view of the world to interpret what the author has written. These interpretations are limited by what their known. When authors create, they project their language, their thoughts, and their meanings into producing text. Their creations are limited by what they know. Because of obvious differences between the language, thoughts, and authors’ meaning. Reading can never be an exact process. Because the reader’s own language and thought become involved through interaction with the language and thought of the author, readers can never be certain that they have discovered the meaning the authors’ write. However, since readers are compelled to understand what they are reading, they interpret actively while reading in order to gain meaning, which is their ultimate goal.The purpose of this research is to know is there any significant effect of students’ reading process strategies and students’ motivation on reading English text achievement at students first grade semester. Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. This research used qualitative methods, data was collected by using observation and interview with 5 primary subject preschool children, and 35 secondary subjects of parents. Data was analyzed by NVivo 12 Plus application to explore religious beliefs, worships, religious knowledge and experiences. The result of this study describes the book Halo Balita can help create and built religious characters of preschool children through activites before, during and after using the book Halo Balita with daily activities, that is when conducting activities inside and outside the classroom, as well as activites undertaken in the family and community environment so that it becomes more independent, caring, honest, and has beliefs related to understanding the creed.Â

This situation is used by education practitioners by incorporating English into their curriculum programs, for parents, English can affect children's competitiveness. Teaching and introducing English to autistic individuals is not easy. Talking photo is a learning media that is essay to apply because it can designed by the parents themselves and the contents can be adjusted to the needs. This research was conducted with qualitative methods describing the application of talking photo in introducing English. Respondents in this study were 3 autistic individuals of pre-school age, not yet exposed to English at all and did not enter the world of education or school. English in this study is vocabulary about parts of body and activities. The results obtained after two months of intensive exposure, respondent one could pronounce and respond to 7 parts of body vocabulary words and 4 activities vocabulary; second is able to pronounce and respond to 5 parts of body vocabulary words and 5 activities vocabulary and third is able to pronounce and respond to 3 parts of body and 3 activities vocabulary. Progress of autistic individuals occurs because of the integration of stimulus and family support.Keywords: Autistic Individual, English, Talking Phot

Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
