Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used

Analisis Faktor-Faktor yang Berpengaruh terhadap Pemanfaatan Pelayanan Kesehatan (PKPR) di Wilayah Puskesmas Kabupaten Tanah Laut Kalimantan Selatan

Program Pelayanan Kesehatan Peduli Remaja (PKPR) merupakan salah satu jenis pelayanan kesehatan yang ditujukan untuk remaja guna mengatasi permasalahan yang terjadi seputar kaum remaja. Namun tingkat pemanfaatan PKPR oleh remaja masih sangat rendah, khususnya remaja di Kabupaten Tanah Laut. Data laporan program PKPR tahun 2009 di Kabupaten Tanah Laut menunjukkan bahwa dari 1055 remaja, remaja yang memanfaatkan pelayanan PKPR hanya sebesar 124 remaja (11,75%).
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap pemanfaatan PKPR dengan rancangan cross sectional study dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan sampel sebesar 124 remaja. Hasil analisa kuantitatif ditindaklanjuti dengan penelitian secara kualitatif.
Secara deskriptif diperoleh hasil pengetahuan responden 83,1% dalam kategori baik, sikap terhadap PKPR 58,9% mendukung, kebutuhan akan layanan 66,9% tinggi, persepsi tentang keterjangkauan 66,1% mudah terjangkau, persepsi tentang kebijakan PKPR 69,4% baik, persepsi tentang sosialisasi PKPR 52,4% dalam kategori baik, persepsi tentang sumberdaya di Puskesmas 62,1% dalam kategori baik, persepsi tentang dukungan keluarga 83,1% mendukung dan persepsi tentang dukungan sekolah 72,6% mendukung. Namun pada kenyataannya hanya sebagian kecil remaja (27,4%) yang memanfaatkan layanan PKPR. Hal ini berkaitan dengan kesenjangan antara kebutuhan remaja akan layanan kesehatan dengan ketersediaan layanan dan waktu jam berkunjung di Puskesmas.
Untuk mengetahui pengaruh variabel-variabel tersebut dilakukan uji statistik multiple logistic regression yang menunjukkan hasil bahwa pengetahuan, sikap, kebutuhan, persepsi tentang keterjangkauan Puskesmas, kebijakan PKPR, sosialisasi PKPR dan persepsi tentang sumberdaya di Puskesmas ada pengaruh terhadap pemanfaatan PKPR. Untuk itu disarankan dalam upaya untuk meningkatkan pemanfaatan PKPR yaitu perlu adanya terobosan baru dalam implementasi kebijakan PKPR terkait dengan ketersediaan jenis layanan PKPR dan waktu pelayanan di Puskesmas yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan remaja.

Analysis on Factors Affecting the Utilization of Adolescent Health Service Program at Primary Healthcare Centers in Tanah Laut District, South Borneo

Adolescent health care service (PKPR) program was one of health services aimed for adolescent to solve their problems. However, utility level of PKPR by adolescents especially in Tanah Laut district was still low. Data from program report of PKPR in 2009 in Tanah Laut district showed that only 124 adolescents in Tanah Laut district utilized PKPR services (11.75%).
The objective of this study was to identify factors affecting the utilization of PKPR. This was a quantitative study with cross sectional approach. Study samples were 124 adolescents. Results of quantitative analysis were followed up by qualitative study.
Results of the study showed that 83.1% of respondents’ knowledge was in a good category; proportion of respondents who supported PKPR was 58.9%; needs for services were high (66.9%); 69.4% of respondents said the location was easier to reach; 69.4% of respondents had good perception on PKPR policy; 52.4% of respondents had good perception on PKPR socialization; 62.1% of respondents had good perception on resources in the primary healthcare center; 83.1% of respondents supported perception on family support; 72.6% of respondents supported perception regarding the school support. In reality, only small portion of adolescents (27.4%) utilized PKPR services. This was related to the gaps between adolescent’s needs for health services and the availability of services and visiting time in the primary healthcare center.
Results of multiple logistic regressions indicated that knowledge, attitude, needs, perception on the primary healthcare center accessibility, PKPR policy, PKPR socialization and perception on human resources in the primary healthcare center influenced PKPR utilization. Suggestion given in order to improve PKPR utilization is to create new breakthrough for PKPR policy implementation. This PKPR policy includes policy regarding the availability of the type of PKPR service and service time in the primary healthcare center that suit with adolescents needs.
