Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Furthermore, this research also conducted direct interviews with young legislators who won the 2019-2024 Legislative Election. The quantitative research such as external analysis and internal research by carrying out approaches through Benchmarking analysis and PESTEL Analysis. As well as internal analysis with the C12 New Wave Marketing approach and VRIO Analysis. From the results of studies that have been carried out, it is indicated that the implementation of Strategic New Wave Marketing by implementing and formulating the 12C implementation that prioritizes New Wave Value can form a distinctive personal brand of a politician who can form bonds with grassroots communities in their chosen area

PT EDC Indonesia is an energy development company, which focus on geothermal resources and convert it to electricity. The company established in 2011 and already did 1 stage from geothermal development stage. Indonesia is the world's third largest geothermal electricity producer after United States and the Philippines and the second largest that have geothermal reserves. Indonesia holds 40% of the world's potential geothermal resources beneath thousand of volcanic islands and mountain. Although Indonesia has a huge geothermal potential, the utilization of geothermal energy is very low. Indonesia only utilizes 3.7% from their fully potential. However with the opportunity arises the company still aren't able to cultivate the geothermal resources. In dealing with challenges, some method is needed in order to perform PESTEL Analysis and Porter's Five Forces Analysis. Internal assessment was done using VRIO Framework, Market and Industry Analysis, and Resource Based View. Strategy formulation uses SPACE Matrix and QSPM with SWOT as an input. PT EDC Indonesia is in the quadrant IV and has four options of alternative strategies. Researchers are only taking two alternative strategies that support their research in accordance to their problems, which are intensive strategy and integrative strategy. To know these alternative strategies, the result QSPM is an intensive strategy. The next step is to analyze the Diamond Strategy to formulate new ideas that correspond to its functional strategy. In the end, this strategy will be implemented to follow and win the tender. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

Abstract. Human Resources Development Center of Electricity, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation under the Human Resources Development Agency of Energy and Mineral Resources the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has an obligation to implement human resource development in the Electricity, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation sectors. One of the programs being launched by the government to support the availability of electrical energy in Indonesia is the 35,000 MW electricity program. The power plant development program needs to be followed up with the preparation of competent technical personnel. This study aims to provide an evaluation of the implementation of community-based human resource development policies in the fulfillment of 35000 MW operators program operators conducted by the Center for Human Resource Development KEBTKE through education and training assistance policy for the community as stipulated in Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Republic of Indonesia Regulation 36, 2015 and its implementation. Indonesia's multi-stakeholder governance system proved to be a challenge in the formulation stage of policy and policy implementation. Some important findings in this program are the workforce preparation program through the community-based training is also the main duties and functions of the ministry of labor so that the need for special coordination related to the preparation of manpower by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. In addition, the program only sets short-term policy objectives to be implemented within a small scope: preparing workers through community empowerment programs around the plant, and not facilitating the funding on the job training and certification activities, requiring strong cooperation with the company. Lack of coordination between stakeholders has become one of the main factors of the continuity of this program. Furthermore, the final project provides recommendation based on the results of the obtained evaluation. The method used is literature study, collecting data through survey, filling questionnaire and interview. Keywords: Training Evaluation, Program Evaluation, Community Empowerment, Coordination, 35000 MW
