Transdisciplinary teaching and technological integration for improved learning: Case studies and practical approaches
In the modern era of research, the significance of transdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches in enhancing higher education learning outcomes cannot be overlooked. These approaches break down traditional academic silos, fostering a more holistic and interconnected understanding of complex problems. By integrating diverse perspectives and methodologies, they promote critical thinking, creativity, and innovation among students. Educators and institutions must embrace and implement transdisciplinary teaching and technological integration to prepare students for the demands of the future and drive meaningful advancements in education.Transdisciplinary Teaching and Technological Integration for Improved Learning: Case Studies and Practical Approaches embodies a commitment to these approaches, incorporating three cyclical activities—research, participation, and action—that collaboratively seek answers to practical questions through features of participatory and situational research. The book explores problem identification, action planning, observation collection, and behavioral data analysis. Covering topics such as artificial intelligence tools, higher education institutions, and university student satisfaction, this book is an excellent resource for higher education faculty, academic administrators, curriculum developers, educational technology specialists, researchers, and more.</p
Thisstudy assessedlearning attitude towards science and science achievement elementary school students gain scores that use Joyful Learning Approach. Quasi-experiment and nonequuivalent pretest posttest design used in this research. The population included all 4th grade student are divided into two experimental class and control class. Results indicated that Joyful Learning approach give better results than conventional approach on learning attitude towards science (p<.05) and science achievement (p<.05).However, there was not a positive gain in one level science achievement. According to this result, students who receive a positive experience of the cognitive learning through worthwhile subject matter, methods and appropriate learning media, as well as a good teacher. If it is supported by affective experience through exciting subject matter, methods and media learning interesting and fun as well as enthusiastic and fun, make the students have a positive desire or inclination to learn Science (conative experience). Students are more likely to remember and understand very well what they are learning when it is an interested or contain some parts that make their own answers
Transdisciplinary approaches to learning outcomes in higher education
The isolated nature of academic disciplines restricts the potential for collaborative problem-solving and innovative approaches to teaching and learning. This fragmentation limits the effectiveness of educational outcomes and fails to prepare students for the multidimensional demands of the modern world. To address this pressing issue, Transdisciplinary Approaches to Learning Outcomes in Higher Education provides a comprehensive framework for transdisciplinary research in higher education. This book offers a systematic approach to transdisciplinary research and equips researchers, educators, and policymakers with the tools needed to break down disciplinary barriers and foster interdisciplinary collaboration. Through a series of case studies, theoretical frameworks, and practical guidelines, the book demonstrates how transdisciplinary approaches can lead to more effective teaching practices, curriculum design, and student engagement. It highlights the importance of integrating digital transformation, creativity, communication skills, and information technology tools to enhance learning outcomes in higher education.</p
EVALUASI PENGGUNAAN PLAST1K SEBAGAI KONSTRUKSI DASAR TAMBAK TERHADAP PENINGKATAN PRODUKSI UDANG WINDU (Penaeus inonodon) (STUDI KASUS PT WACHYUN1MANDIRA)
The objective of this study was to know the influence of pond liners technology on production performance of Penaeus nzonodon Fab, ecosystem dynamic parameters that influenced on liner ponds and earth ponds and the pond bottom construction giving more cost effective production.
This research was conducted by using a case study method. Purposive sampling based on availability of ponds at time research. A total 10 ponds were chosen. Production parameters that were observed such as biomass production, survial rate and feed convertion ratio. The environmental factors covered temperatures, salinuty, pH, NO2-N, H2S, dissolve oxygen and fitoplankton and for earth pond were added redox potential, soil pH and soil temperatures. All data were transformed analyze with correlation technique and t-test.
The result of this study showed that different pond bottom construction did not influence on production performance of Penaeus monodon Fab (as biomass production, survival rate and feed conversion ratio). Ecosystem dynamic parameters on liner ponds did not influence on production performances. For earth ponds, NO2- N and NH4-N has strong correlation and significant on biomass production, soil pH and temperature on survival rate, and NO2-N, NI-E-N and fry amount on feed conversion ratio. Pond bottom construction that giving more effective on cost production is earth ponds.
Sedangkan tambak tanah memedukan program reklarnasi apabila pH terlalu asam
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
