The couple creates joyful, relatable characters and settings that invite children to return to their books again and again. In addition to their collaborative projects, the couple also supports each other in their independent pursuits, which are also hugely successful. Their insights and experiences on collaborating and creating books for children draw from their years of experience, and success, honing their craft together.Cece Bell is the author and illustrator of a diverse range of books, including Newbery Honor–winning autobiography El Deafo (2014), Geisel Honor–winning Rabbit and Robot: The Sleepover (2014), Rabbit and Robot and Ribbit (2017), I Yam a Donkey (2016), Bee-Wigged (2017), Itty Bitty (2009), and the Sock Monkey series. She has also created books with her husband, Tom, including Crankee Doodle (2013) and the Inspector Flytrap series. She earned her graduate degree in illustration and design at Kent State University and became a full-time author and illustrator after many years of working as a freelance illustrator and designer

No full textOne of the MSMEs in Salamjaya Village is the MSMEs of Various Traditional Snacks which still do not know product labeling or branding, as a result the products produced are still plain. In addition, the location of MSMEs in Various Traditional Snacks is still not available in the Google Maps application, the location of MSMEs on Google Maps is very important as a means of increasing MSME sales, nowadays consumers order all their needs to stay at home, including ordering food. This increasingly sophisticated technological development has encouraged the Salamjaya Village MSMEs to choose one of them to keep up with the times according to their abilities, or be forced to keep up with the times. The purpose of this PKM is to assist with branding and Plotting the location of UMKM Various Traditional Snacks in the village of Salamjaya Pondoksalam, Purwakarta. The method used in this PKM is counseling and mentoring. The results of the PKM regarding Branding and Plotting Assistance for Various Traditional Snack UMKM Locations in Salamjaya Pondoksalam Purwakarta Village are going well and smoothly, it can be seen that the UMKM players of Various Traditional Snacks feel very helped by this PKM program. MSME practitioners of Various Traditional Snacks can understand the importance of product branding and Plotting of business locations as a means of increasing the number of consumers and increasing income. Apart from that, supporting programs are no less interesting and implemented smoothly and well, namely the clean-up movement (geberber) and posyandu. This PKM supporting activity really highlights the characteristics of the countryside which has the character of mutual cooperation, a beautiful environment, and "someah" community members.Salahsatu UMKM yang ada di Desa Salamjaya adalah UMKM Aneka Snack Tradisional yang masih belum mengetahui labeling atau branding produk, alhasil produk yang dihasilkan masih polosan. Selain itu, lokasi pelaku UMKM Aneka Snack Tradisional masih belum terdapat di aplikasi Google Maps, lokasi UMKM di Google Maps sangat penting sebagai salah satu sarana meningkatkan penjualan UMKM, jaman sekarang konsumen pesan semua kebutuhan tinggal duduk dirumah, termasuk pesan makanan. Perkembangan teknologi yang semakin canggih ini mendorong pelaku UMKM Desa Salamjaya memilih salah satu diantara mengikuti perkembangan jaman sesuai kemampuan, atau di paksa untuk mengikuti perkembangan jaman. Tujuan PKM ini untuk melakukan pendampingan branding dan ploting lokasi UMKM Aneka Snack Tradisional di desa Salamjaya Pondoksalam Purwakarta. Metode yang digunakan dalam PKM ini adalah penyuluhan dan pendampingan. Hasil PKM tentang Pendampingan Branding dan Plotting Lokasi UMKM Aneka Snack Tradisional Di Desa Salamjaya Pondoksalam Purwakarta berjalan dengan baik dan lancar, terlihat pelaku UMKM Aneka Snack Tradisional merasa terbantu sekali dengan adanya program PKM ini. Pelaku UMKM Aneka Snack Tradisional bisa memahami terhadap pentingnya Branding produk dan Plotting Lokasi usaha sebagai sarana meningkatkan jumlah konsumen, dan meningkatkan pendapatan. Selain itu, program penunjang pun tidak kalah menarik dan terlaksanakan dengan lancar dan baik, yakni kegiatan gerakan bersih-bersih (geberber) dan posyandu. Disabilities in Middle-Grade Literature
No full textThis Honors Senior Thesis explores textual themes regarding disability in literary works featuring protagonists with a disability. In particular, it analyzes the role of literature as a way to provide exposure to and connection with the life experiences of a protagonist with a disability. The author then uses that information to generate insight into how she should approach her own creative writing project—a young adult novel portraying the lived experience of a 13-year-old male protagonist with bipolar disorder. The author focuses her attention on three works: Izzy, Willy Nilly (Cynthia Voight, 1986), The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime (Mark Haddon, 2003), and El Deafo (Cece Bell, 2015). Each book depicts a protagonist with a specific, named disability (amputation, ASD, and deafness). She examines how these works express or reject media-perpetuated stereotypes about disability, such as “victim/helplessness” and “inspirational/heroic”. She then offers suggestions about how she will avoid such pitfalls in her own work
ALDEIA LAGOINHA: uma perspectiva indígena de sua história
No full textThis course completion work aims to record the trajectory of Aldeia Lagoinha, belonging to the Terena ethnic group and located in the District of Taunay, Aquidauana – MS. Given the responsibility attributed to the younger generation to maintain the narratives of the elders, it was decided to carry out interviews with the alders, bibliographical research, organize photographs belonging to the Terena families that were part of the research, as well as record new photographs, access and consult documents such as school minutes, local churches and community in general, as well as other existing documents. The current chief, Leveson Vicente, leader of the community, highlights the importance of education and sustainable development for future generations. The work is organized into seven subtopics, addressing the structuring, creation and maintenance of the cultural aspects of the Terena community. At the end, directions and the relevance of future research in the construction of documents that maintain the history of the community are presented. This study is not limited to recording the history of Aldeia Lagoinha; It also represents a significant personal achievement for the author and, therefore, for the Terena people. It reinforces the importance of maintaining indigenous memory and culture, through research carried out by indigenous researchers themselves.O presente trabalho de conclusão de curso tem como objetivo registrar a história da Aldeia Lagoinha, pertencente à Terra Indígena Taunay/Ipegue, situada no Município de Aquidauana - MS. Diante das responsabilidades atribuídas aos estudantes indígenas pelos moradores ás gerações mais jovens, esperam-se que os estudantes, universitários realizem um registro de sua história para manter as narrativas dos anciãos sempre presente em nossas memórias. Contexto que também atende uma orientação do movimento indígena. Optou-se por realizar entrevistas com os moradores, pesquisas bibliográficas, organizar fotografias pertencentes as famílias terenas que fizeram parte da pesquisa, assim como registrar novas fotografias, acessar e consultar documentos como as atas escolares, das igrejas locais e da comunidade em geral, assim como demais documentos existentes. O cacique atual, Leveson Vicente, líder da comunidade, ressalta a importância da educação para a nova geração. O trabalho está organizado em sete subtópicos, abordando a estruturação, criação e manutenção dos aspectos culturais da comunidade Terena. Ao final, são apresentados os encaminhamentos e a relevância de pesquisas futuras na construção de documentos que mantem a história da comunidade. Este estudo não se limita a registrar a história da Aldeia Lagoinha; representa também uma conquista pessoal significativa para a autora Terena e residente na aldeia e, por conseguinte, para o povo Terena. Reforça a importância de manter a memória e a cultura indígena, por meio das pesquisas realizadas pelos próprios pesquisadores indígenas

Hasil dan Pembahasan.Topik riset teridentifikasi 6.089judul paling banyak pada Jurnal Ilmu dan Teknologi Kelautan Tropis 309judul. Bidang ilmu paling banyak diteliti terutama kelas (6)Ilmu terapan dan teknologi 4.608judul, kelas (658)Manajemen bisnis dan administrasi. Organisasi komersial 708judul. Subyek dan kata-kunci paling banyak diteliti kelas (664.8/.9)Teknik pengawetan makanan 373 terjadi tahun 2018, volume riset sangat padat, dan SWOT 56 terjadi tahun 2018, volume riset sangat padat. Produktivitas penulis kesatu Bambang Hero Saharjo 11judul, penulis kedua Ujang Sumarwan 30judul, penulis ketiga Lilik Noor Yuliati 21judul, penulis keempat dan kelima Didah Nur Faridah 9judul, Cece Sumantri 8judul.
Kesimpulan.Tren riset kelas utama (6)Ilmu terapan dan teknologi. Produktivitas penulis berdasarkan dalil Lotka baik secara keseluruhan, derajat kolaborasi 0,95. Research methods.Quantitative research methods and descriptive data analysis. Research data from Scientific Journals of IPB University. Data tracked by Harzing\u27s Publish or Perish via Google Scholar.
Data Analysis.Data were processed and analyzed using Microsoft Excel, UDC-Summary, and VOSviewer.
Research result.Research topics identified 6,089 titles at most in the Journal of Tropical Marine Science and Technology 309titles. The most researched fields are (6)applied science and technology 4,608titles, business management and administration. Commercial organization(658) 708titles. Most researched subjects and keywords Food preservation techniques(664.8/.9) 373 has occurred in 2018, the research volume is very dense, and SWOT 56 has occurred in 2018, the research volume is very dense. Aesthetic appreciation of tactile unity-in-variety in product designs
No full textThe principle of unity-in-variety has recently been shown to affect visual aesthetic appreciation of product designs. We investigated whether this principle can also account for tactile aesthetic appreciation of products. Design students rated nine car keys on unity, variety and aesthetic appreciation through tactile exploration only. Results revealed that unity and variety, while negatively correlated with each other, both positively influence aesthetic appreciation. This implies that there is an optimal balance between tactile unity and variety that is aesthetically preferred. These results replicate results found in the visual domain and provide evidence for unity-in-variety as a multisensory aesthetic design principle.Design EngineeringIndustrial Design Engineerin
The Politics of Communist Biography: Alfred Kantorowicz and the Spanish Civil War
No full textAfter the German communist author Alfred Kantorowicz's break with communism in 1957, he was lionised by his supporters as an icon of humanism and antifascism, and vilified by his former allies as a turncoat and traitor. In his autobiographical writings, Kantorowicz portrayed himself as a victim of Stalinism, who had always been opposed to the authoritarian and repressive aspects of communism. Again and again he returned to his time in the International Brigades as a way of illustrating both his commitment to antifascism, and the betrayal of grassroots communism by the party leadership. But contemporary records reveal a more ambiguous picture: not only was Kantorowicz a long-time functionary, he was also more involved in the repressive aspects of communism than he later cared to admit. This article argues that, like many ex-communist biographies of the Cold War, Kantorowicz's memoirs are shot through with retrospective self-justification. Given his post-1957 loathing for communism, he needed to explain why he had joined the party in the first place, and why he had remained an active member for 25 years. Apart from that, the presence of mobilizing teachers is expected to be able to mobilize the learning community. The principle of the program is to encourage efforts to improve the quality of education in schools and outside schools using andragogy and blended learning approaches. This activity was carried out with the aim of providing individual assistance to Prospective Mobilizing Teachers before they carry out workshop activities. The activity will last for 5 days, namely from 11-15 September 2023 which will take place face to face in five (5) schools, namely: SD Negeri 13 Curio, SD Negeri 147 Pelali, SMP Muhammadiyah Cece, SD Negeri 140 Kabere, SD Negeri 165 Pudete and SD Negeri 85 Laba. The results of the mentoring activities are: CGP is able to discuss online learning challenges; CGP was able to reflect on the implementation of class changes according to Ki Hajar Dewantara's thoughts; CGP is able to carry out discussions on creating a portfolio framework; and CGP is able to discuss self-position maps and self-development plans within the competence of driving teachers
