Opinnäytetyönä tuotettiin Linnea Torn World -pelidemo, jota käytettiin rahoituksen hakemiseen ja pelimekaniikkojen testaamiseen. Pelissä on olemassa juoni ja tarina suunniteltuna. Pelidemossa pelataan hahmolla, jolla on kaksi erilaista lähihyökkäystä ja yksi taikahyökkäys. Tämän lisäksi sulava liikkuminen ja loputtomasti vihollisia tuhottavana Linnea Torn World -pelidemon maailmassa. Opinnäytetyön asiakkaana oli Tomi Ahola toiminimi ja opinnäytetyön tekijä. Opinnäytetyössä käytettiin Unity3D-ohjelmaa ja siihen ostettua Playmakerkomponenttia. Opinnäytetyö käsittää Linnea Torn World –pelidemon määrittelyn, toteutuksen, työkalut ja pelidemon esittelyn. The purpose of this thesis was to produce Linnea Torn World game demo, which was used in the application for funding. The game demo was also used to test the game mechanics and functions. The story is taking place on an island where multiple worlds collide and the protagonist is forced into a harsh environment to fight for her own survival while trying to save others living on the island. The game is a story driven 2.5D side scrolling hack&slash platformer. You are in control of a character whose sibling supposedly died on birth and lives on in one of the colliding worlds and is strongly connected to the protagonist's consciousness providing aid and information on your journey. Your character is provided with melee combat and spellcasting abilities. You will face distortions of the people and animals living on the island due to the worlds colliding and causing havoc in the reality you can see. Things might not be what they seem, but your connection to the other side will give hints about the real state of things. The customer of this thesis was Tomi Ahola and the author of the thesis. The game demo was programmed using the Unity3D program and the additional Playmaker component that was purchased from Unity3D asset store

Author visits at public libraries : A survey of the author perspective

    No full text
This study deals with author visits at public libraries, where the author perspective is the focal point. A questionnaire was sent online to the members of Författarcentrum and this study is based on the 87 replies. It was found that a majority of the respondents, 76 of the 87, had made at least one author visit to a public library during the last five years and that their main reason for visiting was reportedly to meet with the reader. Steiner's four categories of authors from 2019 was used to place the respondents in the literary field based on Bourdieu's theoretical framework, the categories being star authors, established authors, acknowledged authors and published authors. It was found that there were certain differences in the experience of the author visits based on what category the author belonged to, and that the authors with strong positions on the literary field were favored in some ways. Throsby's model from 2001 of the creative work process was used alongside Bourdieu's thoughts of the literary field, with the conclusion that author visits to public libraries seem to be a kind of work that produce both economic and cultural value for the author. However the sampling wasn't big enough to make certain general statements of how authors experience and view author visits to public libraries on a larger scale

Author(s): Hanna Kartano & Linnea Johnsson Title: Age is not just a number – a qualitative study about the attitudes that social worker have towards the request from the Migrations office regarding age assasement of unaccompanied children seeking asylum. Supervisor: Roberto Scaramuzzino Assessor: Elizabeth Martinell Barfoed This study explores the attitudes among social workers that are working with unaccompanied children seeking asylum concerning the request from the Migration Agency regarding the age assessment of unaccompanied children. The sample is based on social workers in the Swedish social services working with unaccompanied children seeking asylum. The sample is based on both convenience- and targeted selection. Semi-structured interview is the method of choice which has been used with the social workers. The empirically gathered material has been analyzed based on the theoretical concepts of ethics and discretion as well as organization theory. In the gathered material the authors of this study have found that the attitudes among social workers differ regarding their competence as well as the room for subjective opinions. Furthermore, it has been shown that there is an absence of discussion concerning age assessments within the group and that there is a difference of opinion regarding the need for it. The likelihood of avoiding to give information to the Migration Agency that could potentially be to the child’s disadvantage in the age assessment differed among the social workers of this study. The arguments used were, among others, the law as well as the social workers’ lack of competence in the matter. theory, discretion
