Full text linkJanusz Głowacki’s internationally acclaimed tragicomedy inspired by Sophocles’ Antigone has been the subject of intense debate and misinterpretations. The article aims to demonstrate that the play was primarily written in Polish, and that the English version is an adaptation/rewriting made by the author in collaboration with the American screenwriter Joan Torres. analyses his own Italian translation of Filipiak’s poems (published in 2007) to explain the strategies
used to preserve gender elusiveness, gender specification, and gender fluidity, as they play a key role
in the writer’s poetic imaginary

Full text linkOn the translation of fantasy literature through the lens of the Italian version of Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher series
Studies on the specific features of fantasy literature that can influence translation strategies are becoming more and more widespread among scholars, as a consequence of increasing interest in the rendition of cultural items and the legitimation of fantasy literature as a field of research. Focusing on the Italian version of The Witcher series by Andrzej Sapkowski, published in 2010-2016, the article investigates the problems posed by the creation of imaginary worlds and the form of literary cycles as distinctive traits of fantasy literature, as suggested by Guttfeld (2012). The author shows how they can affect cultural and lexical consistency in the translation of anthroponyms, toponyms, units of measurement, culinary terms, and fantastic creatures. Whereas in Polish translations of fantasy texts a foreignizing strategy prevails, due to the domination of anglophone writers and the imbalance of cultural systems, the Italian translation of Sapkowski’s works appears significantly more domesticated

Full text linkNel corso degli anni, la tragicommedia di Janusz Głowacki ispirata all’Antigone di Sofocle è divenuta un successo internazionale, suscitando ampi dibattiti e numerosi fraintendimenti. Il presente articolo si pone l’obiettivo di dimostrare che l’opera è stata scritta originariamente in polacco e che la versione inglese è una rielaborazione effettuata dall’autore in collaborazione con la sceneggiatrice americana Joan Torres. Inoltre, verrà dimostrato che la versione inglese è stata realizzata quando la scrittura del testo polacco era ancora in corso, pertanto la prima ha influenzato e lasciato chiare tracce nel secondo, problematizzando così la tradizionale gerarchia esistente tra testo originale e testo tradotto o adattato.Over the years, Janusz Głowacki’s internationally acclaimed tragicomedy inspired by Sophocles’ Antigone has been the subject of intense debate and misinterpretations. No full textL’idea di questo numero nasce dall’esigenza di indagare il significato e le implicazioni dell’essere ebrei e al contempo avere un orientamento sessuale o un’identità di genere non normativi. Un quesito a cui tentano di dare una risposta i contributi inclusi nel volume, introdotto da un saggio del rabbino israeliano Ronen Lubitch, che chiarisce il rapporto dell’ebraismo rispetto all’omosessualità maschile e femminile. Aspetti del pensiero del filosofo e talmudista statunitense Daniel Boyarin vengono illustrati da Silvano Facioni; Tommaso Giartosio analizza alcune opere della letteratura mondiale: Gli occhiali d’oro di Giorgio Bassani, Bent di Martin Sherman e Alla ricerca del tempo perduto di Marcel Proust.
Alla narrativa e alla drammaturgia è dedicato il nucleo centrale dei contributi, che approfondiscono il rapporto tra ebraismo, identità, cittadinanza, genere e sessualità tanto nei testi letterari presi in esame, quanto nella biografia dei loro autori. Roberta Ascarelli racconta della storia di amore fra una donna tedesca e un’ebrea durante il nazismo, come riportata nel romanzo-documento di Erica Fischer Aimée & Jaguar: una storia d’amore. Berlino 1943. Oggetto del saggio di Gandolfo Cascio è il ruolo svolto dall’omoerotismo all’interno della produzione di Giorgio Bassani, e in particolare ne Gli occhiali d’oro (1958). Al cugino di Bassani, il ferrarese Gianfranco Rossi, è dedicato il saggio di Raniero Speelman. Angels in America, dramma epico composto nei primi anni Novanta del XX secolo dal drammaturgo americano Tony Kushner, è al centro del saggio di Giancarlo Covella. La figura di Hadassah Gross, matrona ebrea interpretata dall’artista israeliano Amichai Lau-Lavie, è al centro del contributo di Shaul Bassi. Mirna Cicioni analizza l’opera della saggista e poetessa americana di padre ebreo Adrienne Rich. Conclude questa parte del volume un’appassionata testimonianza di lettrice: Antigone non è morta invano di Anna Segre.

Full text linkDissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro de Comunicação e Expressão, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estudos da Tradução, Florianópolis, 2013.Com a intenção de delinear o modo pelo qual o escritor italiano Alessandro Baricco se inseriu no sistema literário brasileiro e os caminhos percorridos pelos seus livros traduzidos, esta dissertação dá voz às experiências tradutórias de seus tradutores. A inserção de Bariccono Brasil tem seu início em 1997, através de uma proposição da Profa. Dra. Roberta Barni à editora Iluminuras da tradução de Oceano Mare. A partir daí, outras sete obras foram publicadas no Brasil, sendo três delas traduzidas por Roberta Barni e as outras quatro por quatro tradutores diferentes. De um lado, considera-se o tradutor como figura principal namediação entre culturas, e, de outro, se analisa a realidade desta figuradentro do sistema literário, sua invisibilidade, seus limites e o exercíciode sua profissão. A pesquisa conta, ainda, com críticas e resenhas referentes ao autor italiano publicadas em jornais consagrados no Brasil, considerando estas como parte constituinte da imagem de Baricco refletida em território nacional. Abstract : Intending to delineate the way the Italian writer Alessandro Baricco has been inserted in the Brazilian literary system and the paths his translated books have followed, this thesis gives voice to the translating experiences of his translators. Baricco's insertion in Brazil began in 1997, through a personal project of Dr. Roberta Barni, with her translation of Oceano Mare. Since then, seven other of his works have been published in Brazil, three of which were translated by Roberta Barni and the other four by four different translators. On the one hand,the translator is considered as the main figure in mediation betweencultures and, on the other, this figure's reality is analyzed within theliterary system: its invisibility, its limits and its professional practice. Criticisms and reviews of this Italian author published in well established Brazilian newspapers are also considered, with the understanding that they are part of Baricco's image reflected here
